Why the majority of the codex dont play the true classics?

Base WarCraft II is very short and easy, it hasn't got any mission which need two hours to finish. Of course, if you turtle (like me through my first walktrough as a RTS virgin), and wait for the AI to run out of resources, it could be more tedious.

Jagged Alliance 3 from Haemimont Games

You mean outside of battle? In JA2 you can manage the discovered and unblocked items from the map menu. Of course, if you want to transfer an item from one merc or from the floor to an another merc, they must be in the same sector.

Incline RPG Codex's Best RPGs - 2024 - VOTING IS CLOSED

I presume, Wizards & Warriors ranks only blhigher than Wizardry 7, because most voters only considered the first as hidden gem.

    Solo vs. Party-Based

I voted for party-based, but I love the different methods if they work good. It will be boring, if all of the RPGs would be either solo or party-based. Solo: Gothic, Alpha Protocol, The Wicher, Deus Ex. Semi-solo: Dragon's Dogma, Fallout. With premade characters: Betrayal at Krondor, Jagged...

At least you can rollback to earlier versions. Don't work the save files with them?

Incline Quake II enhanced re-release by Nightdive Studios

I know, but you must play the game via Galaxy, if you want Galaxy achievements, too. It is not a glitch, it is the way how it is works.

Incline Quake II enhanced re-release by Nightdive Studios

All GOG achievements are Galaxy achievements. It is the way it works. Built-in achievements have technically nothing to do with GOG/Steam achievements. If you play a DRM-free Steam game without the client, you don't get Steam achievements.

Decline On why boss combat is shit (and why your favorite Soulslike sucks).

What I meant that these are fine examples of great games, but some of them are bad examples, if you are looking for good combat (TR hasn't got it) or bossfights (MP has bad bossfights).

Decline On why boss combat is shit (and why your favorite Soulslike sucks).

I really love Max Payne 1-2, but they have bossfghts, the first game even have a really shitty HP-bloated one. I like the oroginal Tomb Raider for the levels, puzzles and platforming, but the shooting gameplay isn't good, it is mostly needed for the tension. However, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta or...

    Your favorite strategy games.

Favourites Age of Empires II Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword Command & Conquer: Red Alert - maybe mostly for nostalgia Commandos Crusader Kings - yes, I played mostly the first game, maybe a hidden gem, as it is more obscure than the latter games Dungeon Keeper 1-2 - I love the first one...

Your favourite games from the dark age of pure shit (2005 - 2009)

2005 Civilization IV Devil May Cry 3 F.E.A.R. Ninja Gaiden Black (enhanced version of the 2004 game) Psychonauts Rome: Total War - Barbarian Invasion (much better than the base game) Honorable mentions: Age of Empires III, Condemned: Criminal Origins (melee is good, but the hitboxes are...

It's 1999 again. What games do you play? (2024 edition)

1999 releases Championship Manager 3 Dungeon Keeper II Heroes of Might and Magic III Jagged Alliance 2 Outcast StarCraft: Brood War was excellent, too, but it is only an expansion. Games I played in 1999 Blood Dungeon Keeper Heroes of Might and Magic III StarCraft X-COM: UFO Defense (a.k.a...

Wizardry Wizardry 8 - surviving high level mobs

If you has a good melee damage dealer (fighter is overpowered for the early game, and my dwarf fighter was a monster even in the endgame), can paralyze (eg. freeze flesh, web) and can buff your party's resistances, you are good.
