Incline RPG Codex's Best RPGs - 2024 - VOTING IS CLOSED

River of Time was much better. Shorter/more compact, more grounded story, fewer trash encounters though they're still there. But that they went with a butchered real time ruleset without collisions instead of the turn based system of the old Realms of Arkania games will forever be the tragedy of...

    Dragon's Dogma II - "They’re masterworks, all – you can’t go wrong"

It's also missing a place like Cassardis. I guess you're supposed to be from that village with the dragon flashback early on but I didn't really feel a connection to it the way I did back in DD1.

What drove BG3's success, game mechanics or emotional engagement?

Just give them a bong accent (RP for nobles, Yorkshire for commoners, Cockney for the Thieves Guild), problem solved

What happened to "mature" art direction? Everything is Overwatch now

Sexuality/Nudity doesn't have to mean hardcore porn. As someone who just wrote a fucking essay about classical art you should know this.

    Anime Your Unpopular Gaming Opinions

Nah that's how you kill the fun. Did you do the Tribunal pilgrimage you can get in the Balmora Temple? I remember these being great for immersing yourself in the lore of the world and doing a bit of exploring while going from shrine to shrine.

    Bioware is immortal

That templar Prince Charming guy that's a romance option in Cisquisition has been a girl favourite since Origins. Definitely way above what guys got.

    Morrowind defiling continues - Skywind

Spear movesets have been modded into Skyrim a long time ago. Surely that and additional skill trees for armour wouldn't be too hard to implement?

    Dragon's Dogma II - "They’re masterworks, all – you can’t go wrong"

Monsters just sometimes spawn randomly there

    Dragon's Dogma II - "They’re masterworks, all – you can’t go wrong"

Gives you more xp too, at least it was like that in DD1.

Owlcat's next game is an AAA title that will need full voice acting to compete with BG3

Obviously Oblivion was decline but from a financial perspective a big success. And Skyrim truly made them a shitload of money.

    Dragon's Dogma II - "They’re masterworks, all – you can’t go wrong"

Yeah but missing that comfy night OST DD1 had.

    Dragon's Dogma II - "They’re masterworks, all – you can’t go wrong"

There's no microtransaction for starting a new game, the option is currently missing from the main menu but you can just delete your save file manually. There's only microtransactions for things you can acquire by normal means ingame anyway, like the consumable for editing your character or your...

    [Poll] Metahumans

Don't care as long as there are no blacks in the setting. Specifically black elves and dwarves. BG3 was full of those abominations. Now just booted up the new Dragon's Dogma and within 1 minute of "Start Game" you see some jiggaboo larping as a knight. I'm sick of that shit.
