    i'm not an expert, but have played full 1066 game starting as the 21 year old venician patrician (not doge) wardec for tradeposts (other patricians/republics) whenever possible invest heavily in prestige/income upgrades at house, upgrade trade posts starting w/ those inside duchy. garrisons...

    question for you guys: suppose i'm a king, with a daughter, with a claim on an empire. if i press and win, what happens? it seems the tooltip cannot be correct, that a member of your dynasty becomes your vassal. i'm on ironman or else i would try myself.
