  1. New Computer

I've already registered Prelude to Darkness but tomorrow it will be moved to a new computer. Will it know it was prevously registered or will I have to email you for a new customer number when I reinstall it?
  2. The Next Patch

No posts in three days? I' know I'm waiting to see how the next patch runs on my system, but is everyone else doing the same? Soooo, what's the latest word on the next patch?
  3. It's impossible to download Prelude to Darkness

HTTP 404 - File Not Found The file you requested could not be found. Please contact the site administration team about this error Took the time to find that message so I knew what was being discussed. Since I got high speed cable, I've noticed a lot of those (and also web page not found)...
  4. can this be ?

While I consider the original remark very close to a flame and normally don't respond to flames, there are several things that need to be said. The original author has standards which obviously don't agree with Prelude and I'll let it go at that. Too many "helping" people try to turn a...
  5. C++ error, game crashes everytime I try to buy longswords

Just a comment on this subject, but this is why I wish we could zoom further out and have a way to locate monsters and characters easier during combat. It just seems that the more you move your screen around, the more chance you have of "suddenly" exiting the game or getting caught in the...
  6. Combat Question.

This is probably a related bug as I guess it shouldn't have been allowed in combat. One character was able to give arrows to another during a combat. I note that there was no apparent penalty and that the two characters were quite a distance apart (i.e., the "giving" would have been impossible...
  7. Mat's other job

Don't know if the link was repaired since the first reply but it worked alright for me. Good luck on that new job, but keep up on the support here. Won't even mind if you sneak in mention here of any new RPG's in the new job. In fact, will insist on it!
  8. Quit Error

Most of the time when I quit the game, I get some weird error that Prelude.exe wants to close. This happens after I say yes to "Quit". I exit to Windows and the error message comes up asking me if I want to send it or not to Microsoft. I'm surprised I've seen no mention of this on the board...
  9. I gived the game a look but it's unplayable..

:D Well, after the problems I had when upgrading from XP Personal to XP Pro, I reinstalled a full version 1.41. I've had about 45 minutes play with no further errors (yet). I'll keep my fingers crossed.
  10. I gived the game a look but it's unplayable..

I deactivated my Norton AntiVirus and stability improved. That was the major one, but there were several other things that happened that made me believe this game does not like backgrouind programs very much. But then I upgraded from XP Personal to XP Professional (for other reasons) and...
  11. Reloading the Game

:?: Despite all denials to the contrary, I've found that when working with developing games, loading a full newer version often acts sliightly different than the freshly patched version (i.e., one or two "fixed" bugs might act a little differently). Thus I like to replace my full version every...
  12. Prelude to Darkness 1.45 suggestions

:) This may sound silly, but sometimes I'd just like to hit the space bar to pause the game. There are instances I'd like to stop time from passing while I figure something out or just take a short break. There are other moments when I'd like to stop a walking character long enough to CLICK...
  13. Prelude to Darkness 1.45 suggestions

 Now that Patch 1.40 is out, allow me to start off the 1.45 suggestions: It involves both the Zoom and combats. I wish the game could zoom further out especially during the beginning of a combat. On more than several occasions when a combat in the wilderness was started, I was unable...
