The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians - dungeon crawler with RTwP combat

Sorry for the delay in answering you ; apparently Rpgcodex stopped sending me an email when there's a reply... >_< So I'm not dead, but there likely won't be any sequel ; more details : https://steamcommunity.com/app/409450/discussions/0/3427822455468101406/ . The 1st part is indeed full of...

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians - dungeon crawler with RTwP combat

For people not enjoying the constant loot hunt, I did this Mod : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1121637429 . From the little feedback it got, it seems to be working decently. :)

Real-time grid-based dungeon blobbers - a solution to the 'dance' problem found?

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians (my game), released in 2015, resets the attack casts when moving, but only for the spells & ranged attacks (ie: not for the melee attacks). Moreover, the enemies do no stop after each square moved nor after have turned, and thus follow you nearly instantly...

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians - dungeon crawler with RTwP combat

Someone suggested that a while ago on the Steam forum. The idea is pretty exciting, so I think I'd add it as an option (in an .ini file), but I would not build the game with it, as it'd be harder to design balance-wise, and gameplay-wise it might require too much clicking without doing some...

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians - dungeon crawler with RTwP combat

@Shackleton , thanks for the praise ! :) Actually, there's an option to auto-pause once the Global Cooldown is recharged (in Options -> Game Options -> Helpers), which gives a simultaneous-turn feel to the game, but it has the tendency to greatly lower the chance to do mistakes (same for all...

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians - dungeon crawler with RTwP combat

anvi, you can turn on the permanent auto-mapping in Game Options -> Helpers if you don't like to feel lost in the dungeon, and you're very encouraged to activate the "Low Enemy Density" in the Game Options, which removes about half of the Common enemies, but not the Elites nor the Bosses ; you...

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians - dungeon crawler with RTwP combat

V_K, ah ok, thanks for clarifying that ! :) I won't deny the lack of imagination, however to my knowledge there are only 2 solo games featuring the thryptich + the threat system, and the other one is quite different from DG, so for people looking to play such combat system in a solo...

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians - dungeon crawler with RTwP combat

V_K, in a world with a party composed of a tank, a healer and 2 damage dealers, how would you prefer them to explain their role ? (especially knowing the users looking for help might need to get familiar with the base jargon of the combat system)

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians - dungeon crawler with RTwP combat

@anvi, glad to know you enjoy the game ! :) And even more glad to see you share my vision for RPG combat : after I have played WoW with real tanking & heavy healing + threat management, it's hard to go back to the simpler combat model of classic solo-RPGs..!

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians - dungeon crawler with RTwP combat

@Gimble, I had contacted them again at beginning of 2016, once the wishlist reached 333 votes, but I didn't get any answer. Anyway, the loss is likely relatively small, as Steam is extremely popular. @Whisper, I hope it'll have a DG2, but not before 5 years ( = time to do my tennis games +...

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians - dungeon crawler with RTwP combat

@Gimble, GOG refused it for "being too niche" ; someone set it in wishlist here https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/the_fall_of_the_dungeon_guardians , but it didn't change anything.

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians - dungeon crawler with RTwP combat

@aweigh, you have hotkeys for up to 10 abilities per character (which is the number of abilities most specializations get at the end of the game, if not going cross-specs) + optional macros if you want, with their own hotkeys.

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians - dungeon crawler with RTwP combat

@anvi, if you play in a challenging difficulty level requiring to use the active pause during the game, look for all the secrets, solve all the optional puzzles, and do the Treasure Hunt, count at least 50 hours to finish the game. If you want less combat and play with the Low Enemy Density...
