  1. Top Freeware RPGs of 2010

Rogue Survivor was fun for a week or so.
  2. Why are we all numbers? DU finally went Khmer Rouge?

It's the best thing that's happened to this forums for a looong time. Also, a four-digit number makes me feel :obviously: even though I don't post anything.
  3. Game News Fallout: New Vegas pulls in $300 Million

There was a time I thought Codexers were harsh but fair. Now I know they're just a bunch of hypocrites. They give you another Fallout 3 in a new wrapper, and suddenly you all go "Weee!" just because there is an Obsidian logo slapped on in. I'm totally with Skyway on this one.
  4. (S)hitman

I did notice it, but thought that it was just a mediocre art direction. :) Didn't think of it from this point of view. Now, there may be some plausibility... Different games, different insights into 47's mind, I guess... It's just that I don't remember 47 being like this previously. I thought...
  5. (S)hitman

Well, I'm afraid this is gonna be a tl;dr post, but what the hell... just thought I'd share my impressions. I finished Contracts, then Blood Money and, contrary to expectations, I'm somewhat disappointed. Overall, I feel like the further series went, the more it declined. Don't get me wrong...
  6. GENESIS RPGS BROS

The only RPG I played on Genesis back in the day was Rings of Power. Although it's pure JRPG, it had a huge explorable world and a decent story. Also, it's damn hard and unforgiving.

Wtf, Codex is actually praising something that is a sequel? Just what happened to you guys? Am I the only one who thinks only the first game was any good? Didn't play Blood Money, but Silent Assassin was meh... Currently playing Contracts, and so far it's also meh.
  8. Tropico 3 motherfucker?

The demo is pretty enjoyable. Seems like they didn't screw up anything much gameplay-wise. I miss the old interface and cartoon-style characters and videos from the first game, though. The only thing that bothered me was the "humour". I don't know, maybe it's targeted for xbox players, but...
  9. Oh god you have to play this

Well, maybe I'll give it another try some other time (gave up on the game after getting to day 4 or 5). But it's definitely running around that was getting on my nerves the first time. There were games where a concept of passing time was executed much better - for instance, "The Last Express"...
  10. Oh god you have to play this

The worst game I've ever played. Most of the time you run from one part of a town to another to find some npc, click through his conversation (a few dialogue options doesn't make any difference anyway - minimal c&c, if any), then run back, click through another npc's dialogue, then again, then...
  11. Arcanum High Resolution Patch

This alone wasn't enough, but setting video card options to performance mode finally did the trick for me. Thanks!
  12. Arcanum High Resolution Patch

Looks like you're right - lowering hardware acceleration helped also, though the game became extremely sluggish. Will stick to -no3d for a time being - it's simpler than to switch to other drivers.
  13. Arcanum High Resolution Patch

Great work, Drog - as always! :) I'm having a slight problem though. After I've installed the patch, when I try to scroll in game, I get such weird artifacts: Never had this before, even with UAP. Tried -no3d and it works like a charm, but still would like to know what could be wrong.
  14. Unofficial Arcanum Patch (Original Thread)

Currently playing through the game... Here's some bugs that I've spotted so far (all of them in Tarant). - When playing dice, your opponent explains the rules to you: "If you haven't won or lost on the first throw, then you remembers the number" - should be "you remember the number". -...
  15. Unofficial Arcanum Patch (Original Thread)

Wow! Qwinn's solution seems just perfect to me! I'm all for it. Also: Not if he sees that the note is opened, attacks me outright and gets killed. The way it is now, there is no "diplomatic" solution for a diplomat (who lacks thievery/mind control skills) - he just can't get Rorry's...
