  1. Interview MCA on Storytelling

Yeah, I find it difficult to believe he never played any of the talky Adventure games of the 90s. I mean, the talky version of Loom came out in what, 1991? And I'm sure there were other ones earlier -- though perhaps with not as great of voice acting. I'm not sure Kotor's release 12 years...
  2. Jagged Alliance Back In Action in October

So... does that mean that they made Back in Action in 1999?
  3. "chicken concentration camps"

What part of "blockbuster RPGs in the tradition of Bioshock and Mass Effect" is so confusing for you? The author isn't saying that all RPGs ever are stupid and shouldn't be made. He's saying that specifically those RPGs that are "in the tradition of Bioshock and Mass Effect" need to be put to...
  4. "chicken concentration camps"

Once again, you folks seem to be missing the point. Are you saying that mainstream RPGs like Mass Effect haven't become shitty and linear? That's entirely his point! Modern RPGs lack those mechanics. Do you disagree? Has there been a mainstream RPG that's come out in the last 3-4 years that...
  5. "chicken concentration camps"

Azrael nailed what I was going to say, but just to drive the point home... I mean, this is practically word-for-word the exact narrative that I've been reading (and agree with) on the Codex over the last 8 years. So either you're all just raging for the sake of raging, or you're just...
  6. "chicken concentration camps"

I'm confused... he's making fun of the games that the Codex always makes fun of, pointing out the same flaws in those games that the Codex always points out... and the Codex hates him for it?
  7. Review Epic Alpha Protocol Review Extravaganza

I was actually considering buying it until I read this: Is it seriously only 15 hours long? I just can't justify paying $60 for a 15-hour game, no matter how great it might be (assuming AP is even great to begin with).
  8. Dungeon Keeper/Dwarf Fortress like games

I actually bought this way back when it first came out, but something or another came up and I wasn't able to play it much. A few months ago I stumbled across it while packing to move, and tried playing it. It loaded up to the main menu, but going any further did not work. Anybody know how...
  9. let's play, worms!

    Let's play tic-tac-toe!
  10. Preview Diablo 3 still has that old Diablo feeling

If Diablo 3 isn't out til 2011, does that mean that StarCraft 2 won't be out til at least 2012?
  11. AoD - Readme: the combat demo survival guide

Wait, wait, wait... before this thread goes any further, let me ask you this: Does anyone actually read the readmes?
  12. Wait...Paradox Interactive AND Zombies!?..That's crazy talk!

Honestly, this description sounds like crap. It sounds almost exactly like a zombie flash game series I played: http://www.zombiegames.net/games/The-Last-Stand.html http://www.zombiegames.net/games/The-Last-Stand-2.html They were fun, for sure, but not exactly worthy of a $50 purchase.
  13. Tropico 3 motherfucker?

One of the things that always kinda bothered me with the original was the apartment tenement building. You're apparently supposed to build it early on as housing for all the shack-dwellers... but I always found it awkward-looking that a small farming community of less than 100 people should...
  14. Tropico 3 motherfucker?

I don't really like that they've added paved roads and cars instead of the dirt roads and foot travel, but I guess if that's the only thing worth complaining about, they're doing a pretty good job.
  15. Starcraft 2 editor...Holy fuck it's awesome.

    StarCraft: Ghost?
