KickStarter Hibernaculum - sci-fi survival horror dungeon crawler from Wormwood Studios' Victor Pflug

I don't think so but there are quite a few bits and pieces here: https://www.youtube.com/@hibernaculum/videos

Thanks, man. I did quite a bit of JS many, many years ago and was hoping that would be enough of a foundation to serve as a starting point, but.... you're probably right. Anyway, taking the time now is 100% preferable to tying myself in knots somewhere down the line. Thanks again. Hey...

After some thought, I've decided to take your advice on this and start fiddling around with Unity and learning C#. Thanks. I would have just used RPG Maker but I can't let go of on-map battles with movement. On that note, if anyone's interested, I did find a written (yes!) tutorial on learning...

It's most definitely an interesting project. Thanks for posting. I'm pretty tempted to give it a go as is. RE: Tactical battles, the dev posted this a year back: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2158670/discussions/0/3834297685604496639/

Looks like @Habichtswalder made a mistake on the link, so.... https://rpg-architect.com/ https://store.steampowered.com/app/2158670/RPG_Architect/ Unfortunately tactical style battles are apparently only coming in a post release update. Still interesting, though.

Are there any good CRPGs made with RPG Maker?

I should have mentioned I remember people being impressed with False Skies having deeper systems of party creation, classes and stats fiddling that your average JRPG home brew. That and big dungeons.

Are there any good CRPGs made with RPG Maker?

False Skies was ackchyually made in the Official Hamster Republic Role Playing Game Construction Engine. True story. https://rpg.hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/Main_Page

Spiderweb Geneforge 2 - Infestation remake from Spiderweb Software

Does anyone else dislike these vanity-publisher style 'have your quest in the game' rewards? First, I enjoy indie games because they're more likely to be the result of a single vision, not a committee or focus group. Having superfans contribute content dilutes this. Second, it kinda doubles down...

And yet there are seemingly millions of people churning out cutesy little 2D JRPGs that no one ever plays? Like the pyramids, it's a mystery. Oh, and have a fist bump for being a fellow explorer type. Since my goal is to make a (hopefully enjoyable) concoction of untamed jank, I'm not too...

Don't get me wrong, I do like Vogel, but he's such a tempting target. :) Yeah, the presentation isn't great. Still, I'd have thought more people would get excited over the (theoretical, yes) idea of an RPG Maker like engine for cRPGs, even if the orientation is very retro. Also, assuming...

You mean bugs, optimization, et cetera? True enough. Despite all that and the early stage of development, I'm still surprised it's not getting more interest. Maybe classic style cRPGs are even more niche than I thought? Cool, a Jeff Vogel simulator! Seriously, though, thanks for the tip-off...

Has anyone here come across Eldiron? It's a still-in-development open source tool for making classic cRPGs. I saw it mentioned briefly in another thread, looked it up, and was pretty excited. At first glance, it includes a map editor, 2d and pseudo 3d, day/night cycles, lighting effects, and...
