    FIELD OF GLORY: KINGDOMS!!

Reading through that entire post, I kept thinking, "this sounds too much like Crusader Kings." I'm glad they put that to rest in their last paragraph. I liked that Field of Glory Empires set itself apart from other games which look similar on the surface. Strategic dynasty management could be a...

STAR FLEET II: Krellan Commander Version 2.0

I bought this a few days ago, and am having a blast so far. Right now I'm having fun engaging with the systems that I understand. The documentation is well-written, and includes several tutorial missions. Likewise, the early campaign missions are all about navigation and transferring cargo and...

Legends of Amberland II: The Song of Trees

I completed the game a few nights ago using the quickstart party on normal difficulty. It was a good time. I enjoyed the colorful graphics, light humor, and straightforward mechanics. My party felt overpowered towards the end, so I will increase the difficulty if I start again.

Legends of Amberland II: The Song of Trees

This may be the issue I mentioned in the announcement thread. I became accustomed to targeting healing spells using the mouse in Amberland I, but that may have only been because I had shuffled my party around.

Game News Legends of Amberland II Released

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I was wrong about armor levels. After checking Amberland I, it is listed in the same place on the character stat screen. The trouble with mouse/keyboard controls in Amberland I is there in my save file. It may have something to do with how I rearranged the party...

Game News Legends of Amberland II Released

Here are my first impressions as someone who enjoyed but did not complete the first game: The new music is pleasant. The user interface is slightly improved. I'm able to fully navigate, fight, and cast spells quickly using only the keyboard. In the first game three were certain actions where I...

Demon Lord Reincarnation - Codexian Developed Blobber

I may have mixed up the status notifications. Would it be possible to create special cases for using skills against certain enemies? Going off the examples I gave, the event notifications against slimes sometimes refers to their "feet" when I execute certain skills (was it "low cut"?). It would...

Demon Lord Reincarnation - Codexian Developed Blobber

I'm disappointed that skeletons can be blinded by being poked in their eyes and are vulnerable to slash attacks, and that slime monsters can be tripped. The manual FAQ suggests that enemies have varying weaknesses to attack types, and I was expecting the player would be able to apply logic when...

I've may have wandered into a Twilight Zone episode.

    Grimoire Thread

I read that in the start guide you posted for me. Having stronger attacks at the start would have helped somewhat. Character effectiveness seems to double after attaining the first level up, so its only an issue for the first hour or so.

    Grimoire Thread

Another update. This game is brutal at the start. Just about every enemy is capable of one-shot killing a level-one party member, and the adventurers don't have enough skills or items to strategies in any significant way. I generally don't like save scumming, but it seems necessary in this...

    Grimoire Thread

Just a quick update. I began a new adventure with the quickstart party. This time the party had an easier time with the caterpillars. Their vitality must have been low previously. I read somewhere that can prevent hits from penetrating armor. My spell-casters were also able to land a few...

    Grimoire Thread

I bought Grimoire for $0.99 last night along with Legends of Amberland. My first impression wasn't very good overall, and I quit after struggling with the battles in Briarpatch Woods. After reading this thread I will give it another shot.
