  2. Vapourware Codexian Game Development Thread

I just completed a long phase of balancing character classes in my retro / indie / rpg game. Man, balancing is a lot of work. I think I spend about 50% of my total development time with balancing and still the game is just moderately balanced. I started reading up on the subject and found some...

Yeah... now that makes sense. :nocountryforshitposters:
  4. SanctuaryRPG - An ASCII based roguelike RPG for Windows!

I've been flagged advertising plant for a post that was much more humble than this... and he even uses the majestic plural!
  5. In Defense of Hit Points

Interesting thoughts. I've seen roguelikes that use a player-doll to track injuries. Like in the mechwarrior games: Each bodypart can change color from green to red. That might be an approach slightly more interesting and flexible than HP. I guess a reason why HP are so common is the...

Newfag can't do this. Newfag is advertising plant. :)

Stonegate isn't done yet. So far, you beat the game with your robot. I think you even beat most of my own characters in level and gear - congrats on that! :) I'm actively working on the extension that is leading to stonegate. Might take a few weeks to complete though. Since releasing this game...
  8. Darkfire RPG

Hey Pipeweed, Thanks a lot for playtesting! The monk class definitly needs some work. I'll add more quests and also thinking about additional skills. Did you notice btw, that the monk also has a healing skill? The interface is kinda stupid in that regard - hard to notice that more than one...
  9. Hello everyone

Why was I flagged a dumbfuck? Maybe I shouldn't have tried to tri-force... oh well, but it's so much fun. At least there's a positive side to it: I needen't be afraid of falling any lower :)... ... or do I?? Someone asked me to post what games i like. So here goes: diablo 2 final fantasy...

  13. Hello everyone

Hey, big thanks to those who welcomed me! Not sure what to make of all those newfag comments... maybe just take it easy okay? I didn't mean to offend.
  14. Navigation and size of a game world

From my own experience (building RPGs myself) I can throw in two thoughts: Building a large, open game world without GPS-like navigation will be *much* more difficult to get right than otherwise. The risk of annoying pleople as they get lost or stuck is just huge. How can you manage the...
  15. Darkfire RPG

This forum is all about cRPGs. Why should I get banned for posting a link to a new game? Someone might like it.
