I ask because every Thief vet knows killing is always taken away in higher difficulties but it's not a major disadvantage...

    Nope. All the pieces are free to grab (except for the one sold at the Dam) from the appropriate vaults, they can just be a pain to find. I finished mine after meeting up with him at Hawthorne. There's A LOT of unique items you can get from it. Too many as in "more than the rest of the game...

    I loved using the mortar to warp inside of building spaces where I couldn't be touched and going wild shooting people. The air hangers and the Enterprise island were awesome for that because an ammo crate was within reach, nothing could stop you.
