Community Help choose the The New World's new title

how about "Arcadia" ? It's sorta like "utopia" -- but with an ominous implicit asterisk attached. also Not sure if that'd be the right title for this project, but goddamn that's a catchy title... sounds like a lost work of Harlan Ellison or maybe something you'd see on one of those old...

Kenshi - open-ended sandbox RPG set in a desert world

Gonna break a long stretch of lurk (Im bad at posting) to encourage anyone reading to give the game a spin. IDK what kind of shape this game was in two years ago but it sure ain't vaporware now. If you like wRPGs then there is a lot to like here. All the fun of running from town to town in an...

Archmage Rises - the play-how-you-want mage simulator - now available on Early Access

bumpin this thread because of dev effot, winner attitude. oh and I'll actually probably play the game too. looks fun! Not sure how anyone can compare this to "That Which Sleeps" -- a large % of this game seems to have actually been completed, thus making it a totally different kind of thing.

Incline Things in RPGs that make you happy

To contribute: I really like it when there's a strong enough "town" setting in CRPGs that you can have fun just hanging out and goofing around there. Everyone knows about the peak experiences one finds in dungeons -- finally hitting the right combination of level & tactics to beat some baddie...

Incline Things in RPGs that make you happy

Do you ever have to write a paper check? If so, there is usually a "memo" section on the check. You write can write "gay sex" there. You can write it every time and nobody does a thing about it, they try not to acknowledge it. Highly recommend. Makes paying the utility bill feel a little more...

Might and Magic Might & Magic X - Legacy

...this is a pretty interesting observation, there does seem to be some neglected territory in the middle nowadays. I've enjoyed Subnautica this summer, I guess that's an odd AA title -- Subnautica does have some serious patronage now but might be a good example of a mid-budget game. Ditto some...

    Caves of Qud (ROGUELIKE)

ADOM has been my favorite roguelike since the mid-90s, though I'm always down for a game of SLASHEM / Nethack (CLAN EIT still OWNZ J00 btw) CoQ has finally begun to unseat ADOM for me over the last year. It's not just the aesthetics, a lot of it is just has to be the sheer virtuosity of the...

Indie Lurking - Inspired by Ultima 3 (released)

worth mentioning if anyone's just downloaded this -- don't worry, combat unfurls a bit as you play. not U6 level or nothing but still, it's nice. simple is OK when it's this smooth eh

tbf defending larian is sort of like defending the retarded kid that's trying so hard to make the football team. just be nice to Timothe you jerks, he's hilarious at parties

Decline Top 3 Worst Major Releases

there's more "meh" here then terrible. I suppose if the general ennui from playing a "meh" game makes a person just sort of wander off after 12 hours in then that's almost worse than bouncing right off something 100% awful, though. Must admit to liking the 2nd Shadowrun, gets a "B" at least...

Indie Lurking - Inspired by Ultima 3 (released)

whoah this is very much like U3, w/ NPC conversations closer to U4-5 though (works for me) thanks CryptRat for representin this, it's interesting to see an austere sorta CRPG get into some shape right in front of your eyes. Makes me wish we lived in a world where we all were taught to code from...

    Caves of Qud (ROGUELIKE)

love this game but I'm too feeble to play permadeth being able to savescum does make the game play slightly more like a straight-up, somewhat austere CRPG, but there's really enough going on now to keep that fun -- it makes the experience of getting tore up by a turret more of a "ahhaha, wow...

Indie Lurking - Inspired by Ultima 3 (released)

bumping this thread because it represents pure anti-cancer. also don't be too quick to throw the name "okalbsoft" away, that might be a gift from the gods... Shimano --> Shamino, eh? like you could just ram the typo all the way to "Okalbfots" and presto, that's your wizard name. But serious...
