So I've played The Forest recently which made me want to actually play one of the sandboxy survival games that seem to be trendy now, or at least there is a fuckton of them. Decent PVP is a must for me.

Initially I was going to get the DayZ standalone since I've played the mod when it got popular (~2 years ago?) but netcode, warping zombies and players, shit engine and couple of other things made me quit back then. Apparently now the standalone was released and still nothing is fixed, and devs are just adding items.

My research so far is this:
Rust - seems promising, kind of?
7 Days to die - way too much like Minecraft to me to take it seriously.
Life is Feudal - no idea, confusing reviews
The Stomping Land

For the time being I'm not playing any survival games, though I'm keeping my eye on H1Z1, which is under development. It seems to incorporate the best aspects of DayZ and the Forest (including a comprehensive crafting system).
