Before starting, I have to warn you: This is a Seinen manga, which means it's more mature than the usual shonen crap, expect anything to happen. This one though is not particularly violent, but you have been warned.

Pluto is a giant tribute to Osamu Tezuka's works. It's about a surprisingly non-dystopian future where humans and robot co-exist together. Said robots live obeying the Three Laws of Robotics (which I guess I don't have to explain), and pretend to be as human as the human themselves. Unfortunately, that idea has some flaws, like that theoretically a robot can't die as long as its memory is saved. Then there's the fact that there are military robots, which is silly because their sole reason of existing contradicts the 1st Law (never harm a human, directly or indirectly). Then there is the occasional cyborg to mess it even more. Ultimately, the manga starts falling apart after the 1st part, but it's still an enjoyable read. I'll start posting the first two chapters, if you like it I may post more (up until the end of the first part). If you don't... Well, I guess mangas where there isn't rape nor EXTREME VIOLENCE are not "mature" enough for you.

This robot series of Tezuka is hugely interesting read, even in the old day. Pluto is magnificient, of course. But the next one is robotic version of Romeo and Juliet, with actions thrown in. Dont know if it will get remake.

Don't know why, but I can't stand Urasawa's style of drawing.

Not sure why, but it makes me

I think the weird drawing style is done deliberately, the "uncanny valley" effect thing.

I can't help but weep tears as I read this.
:what: Not sure if serious, Pluto really tries to be "emotional", but sometimes it tries too hard IMO. Anyways, no-one is chasing me with pitchforks and torches, so I guess you liked the manga. Therefore, moar episodes incoming.

Who could this Misterious Kid TM be? Who knows, good thing that the manga already provided me with a cliffhanger.

I would be lying if I didn't say that I did get teary eyed at the thought of even robots not wanting to lose memories of loved ones. While yes it may try too hard being "emotional" I think it may just work for itself. We'll see though.

The reference apparently no-one noticed (or cared) was about the doctor briefly mentioned, it's implied to be Black Jack, an elite physician that makes House look like a clumsy idiot. Anyways, I would like to comment that despite what Twilight says, something worse than being an inmortal being is an inmortal being that's also young and cannot age. It must be absolutely terrible seeing how your friends and family grow up, wither and die, while you eternally stay young (the Kid must not be as naive as to think he'll be able to go at school forever like nothing happened). But then, it was mentioned that there are kid robots, so I guess they "renovate" themselves when they feel like it, using new parts to pretend they grow up (like that old movie named Robots). Or perhaps I'm over-thinking it.

TL,DR: Please bump it to next page if you want more, dear readers, this page is too filled already.

So, I was thinking about resurrecting this LP if enough people show interest, especially because I was able to read a few Astroboy mangas, including the one that contains the story which inspired Pluto. Boy, mangas sure were oldschool at that time. Despite being for children, Astroboy is quite bleak. Not only people die without warning, but Astroboy himself is also willing to hurt (and sometimes KILL) anyone threatening his loved ones. Quite grimdark.
