Here are some interesting looking strategy game series I cannot play because I don't understand the language.
Mobius link:
Depicted are the second and third (?) games in the series. AFAICT, in these earlier titles, time keeping is in phases. Strategy consists of (at least) fleet composition, while tactics comprises position, radars and weapon ranges.
Grand strategy:
A number of the (seemingly) simplified console games in this series have been translated to English and published with the transliterated title "Daisenryaku". However, AFAICT, the PC titles remain untranslated. The games are in the style of Panzer General (and, AFAICT, predate it). Most of the games are set in the modern era.
Shwarzchild:
The above video and screenshot shows the fourth game, which features fleet and commander management, diplomacy, light economics, real time tactical battles, and, by the looks of it, no fog of war. I can't think of any similar games.
Sequence Palladium:
Another Kogado series; this first game seems to use a very similar program to the first Power DoLLs. It also has the same beautiful women in suits of armor gimmick. The time keeping is in alternating turns and movement is on a discrete, 6 connected grid (interestingly drawn as offset squares instead of hexes). The games feature a rich array of spells and a wealth of character attributes.
Power DoLLs:
The first game in this series was released in English for DOS (and Windows?). However, no others have been translated AFAICT. The best game in the series seems to be 4 (see screenshot). It wouldn't be unfair to compare the tactical parts of Power DoLLs games to Jagged alliance.
If you know anything about these games (especially with regards to translations), or know of other strategy games from foreign lands which were designed to be played with a keyboard, mouse, and warm cup of tea, please share.
