Stylistically, I prefer Arx Fatalis at this point:

But that's not fair as one is complete game and the other is not. Still, for an Immersive Simulation a more realistic look is always going to be preferred. Nonetheless, Nate Wells has directed the style of a more realistic looking game in the form of System Shock 2 and its style holds up reasonably well, as well as another cartoony game in the form of Bioshock which no matter what anyone says about that turd, was visually well made.

Honestly these shots look alright. Give them a break.

I'll say it again -- this looks like the 'VR' shit they would put in television shows in the 80's/90's. It's not 'stylized' it just looks flat out bad.



And the enemies in Bioshock looked HORRIBLE.

No matter what you do with the colors, it still looks like a Play Doh Fun Factory. Will be skipping this pile of Roger Rabbit stool with a wide step, nothing good will come from it.
