The 90's where the decade when pc gaming slowly became mainstream. It's not just cost btw, it was in the early nineties not even usual to have a pc and plenty of people saw no reason to get one. How things have changed, eh? Hell, I remember how the gaming magazines were made by enthousiastic hobbyists who could rave for pages about a new V for Victory as well about the new Wing Commander.

Nevermind. I'm being nostalgic.

2by3 is about to release patch 1.02, which improves responsiveness and functionality. Look out for it by the end of this week.

Conan has continued to monitor the WITE community for reported flaws he did not spot during his recent experience with the game, but so far the consensus seems to be that it is just a truly excellent game. Go figure.

There will be tweaking of leader loss rates (KIA, dismissed etc), though, and some tweaks to the effectiveness of AA against fighter craft. Otherwise, the game is already very, very polished.

Friend OminousBlueDot, you can always try Gary Grigsby's War in Russia, which is available from Matrix Games for free.

It's an operational wargame covering the Eastern Front that originally came out in 1991, but remains very playable. The big difference lies in the fact that it is army/corps level, rather than regimental/divisional. On the other hand, that also means that not every turn needs to take an hour...

Does anyone know how to run the matrix reeditions in Wine?
