Whats weird about it? For its time it was well done and entertaining, story was so so. Still roller skating on gear was fun, was using Grizzly most I think. By the way why is it that some of the plot looks like it ties in to Strikeforce Centauri, minus the "magical knights"?

Been itching to play this again, but I never found a way to get it working on a modern computer.

I quite liked it. More like an FPS than like Mechwarrior.
Bollocks, it has much more simulation depth than MechWarrior ever had.

Whats weird about it?
Generally, the whole concept. Mecha that are rather small and not really that powerful. The amount of keys is quite crazy.

The worst thing is that it doesn't see half of my keyboard.
General problem while running it on modern computers I guess. Even when I did get it to work on XP, I had to generate a keybind file and then quit the game before loading it again for the keybinds to work.

I just tried sniping with light auto-cannon. Actually, sniping is a bad word, since I was 200m from the target (tried with various targets). None of the shots hit it despite that they were perfectly aimed. Also, there was no reaction from the AI. Pathetic  .
For fucks sake, even the PnP version has the maximum range of 800m for light auto-cannon.

I think I'm going to uninstall it.

The only way I can play it is by binding the basic functions to 18 fire buttons and 3 POV hats of my X52 FCS.

Just take a look at my bindings:

The game has differing variations from PnP for maximum range for different weapons, you can check those in the assembly. The AI is dumb as bricks though, nothing you can do about it (why do you think I keep dreaming of a remake that only updates graphics and other technical aspects like AI?)
