My nephew started playing Saints Row 3 the other day, he fell into a fit of laughter when he started the Horde Mode ("whorde mode" in game), because your starting weapon is the dildobat. "HAHAHAHAHA THATS A PENIS". I think it looks funny too, but he was almost crying at the physics of the purple dong.

Maybe it's not a matter of nation, but age group. The SR devs know that at least half the fans of GTA clones are kids, so they include this kind of more simple lulz to satisfy those players.

I am not the target market for these kinds of games. I would prefer some kind of open world noir detective/PI game. Searching for clues would organically lead you to places without having to use cut-scenes or gimmicky missions. Bonus points if the main 'quest' is never explicitly stated.

It's about depiction. In low-int runs of Fallout and Arcanum or Malk runs in Bloodlines you're supposed to laugh at the dialogue your stupid character is saying.
