Gold has weight so I can't carry too much and the bank is not safe enough see above?
I am playing the Amiga version of the game, because the Dos version has some terrible bugs; the mines (first dungeon) has no encounters at all. One of my characters has got negative experience points, so he can do infinite level ups :)

Merry Christmas!

Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy
The mines having no encounters is a new bug for me, and this game has TONS of them.

Anyway, safe banking 101: Create a seventh character that never leaves the tavern. Have him carry all the gold, and only re-add him to the party when funds are needed. (Hope to high heaven that he's not an alcoholic.) This at least worked in the PC version, no clue about the Amiga version.
