What could possibly go wrong?

How about he gives us direction to the town and we go there and fix the problem ourselves?

If not, accept the quest. Maybe we'll get to kill the courier. How the mighty have fallen. :negative:

Let's help these poor people with probably very contagious diseases. What could go wrong with that course of action?

I guess it is unsurprising that we have to actually drive there.

mqd2nJG.png

245 KM away?!?

Guess the plague people will have to just wait. Ashley's dropoff point is much closer at 49KM away.

Look for our shiny new vehicle. Ashley is replaceable, the car is not!

Hey! Someone's shooting at my new car driver! :argh:

JTsyWGF.png

Once again the game just plops us straight into battle.

Against a group of glass-cannon type raiders. Who are still probably using early-game tech. This will be a massacre.

Unfortunately, our big slow buses take time to get into firing range, and it turns out the super heavy lasers actually take time to turn towards their target before they can fire.

Te9qNab.png

Of course, none of that matters once the lasers are actually fired.

PRECIOUS PRECIOUS FUEL

Good grief I was worrying that we'd run out what with the lack of random battles and all!

oh, and the car is nice as well I guess.

The stem bolts lie 287KM to the

Really game? You are repeating the encounter that just gave us a new car?

AND YOU ACTUALLY GAVE US A SECOND ASHLEY

Seriously. The game wasn't this insect-prone even on release, and that's saying something.

We are only allowed four vehicles at a time, so it's time to get rid of Good Squad. Let's face it: Goon Squad was destined to get abandoned like this eventually. Say your last farewells.

The game was even so kind to put Goon Squad's weapon back into our inventory.

...Say, aren't we supposed to be searching for ship parts? WOW did we ever get sidetracked.

Plague Town is 271 KM away to the south. Bear in mind that we don't actually have to visit the place before leaving the planet :smug:

The Blue R998X Chip (gotta be blue, not any other color) is 131 KM eastward. We are quickly getting to the point where we have the firepower to take it on, if we don't already.

The Sonic Screw Convoy is 140 KM to the southeast. It will probably involve shooting as well.

The Stem Bolt Monopoly :argh: is 287 KM to the southwest
The Ethanol Chemist is 131 KM to the Northeast.

Rather critically, there is a camp 94 KM to the northwest. This crosses privateer territory. Good! We might actually see a random battle to gain fuel from!

And there is also two radio signals to the north that we can get distracted by, because clearly we need to get sidetracked further.

Didn't you update it midway? Maybe that's what is causing it.

Go to the northwestern camp to refuel. Then go to the Ethanol Chemist through the two radio signals.

That vehicle you can get from Ashley (and the "choose the right door" contest) are seriously sweet. They have max mine-guard right out of the box, sweet handling and premium slot allocation. They will last you straight through to the endgame.

Oh, and I've never had that bug you just showed us.

Also, a ramming vehicle equals Fun.

Wow, faction territory has actually expanded like it is supposed to.

Also one of the radio signal is right directly on the road I am driving on anyway.

Well, we should at least hear them out before shooting them.

Somehow I think the privateer gang will have more loot then the innocent villagers. I vote for letting the villagers at least tell us where the privateers are.

Ok, we heard them out. Now can we shoot them please?

Then again, a pirate princess is worth more than a momentary satisfaction of a good slaughter, so if finding her is only possible if yoy leave them alive, so be it.

Fine I guess you villagers get to live for now

71KM to the south. Let's figure that out later and head to a camp for now.

Privateer territory has really spread. also this looks like the edge of the map right here

But right before we reach camp, bam random encounter time.

Welp, we reached camp okay.

I think it might be time to rearrange our weapons.

We have the following red pieces of equipment:

Light Rocket Artillery
100MM cannon
60MM Autocannon
Medium Railgun
Minigun
Chainsaw x3

And the following yellow equipment pieces:

A.I.D. x2
Ballistic Computer

Our slow heavy trucks have two red slots each.
Both of our new hovercars have two red slots and two yellow slots.

How are we dividing up our equipment?

Ashley-class cars should get AID each if they don't have one, and a chainsaw each. One gets a railgun, the other one a 100mm cannon. They'll be the main damage dealers.

Odd Niner keeps its 60 mm Autocannon. The last vehicle gets a minigun and a light rocket artillery.

Put the remaining chainsaw and the ballistic computer where they would look the nicest.

Does the store have anything?

A light rocket artillery.

The parts are reserved for purchasing fuel, since we are almost out of that.

The 60mm Autocannon is better then the 100mm cannon due to the former firing 3 shots at once. If you want the Ashley-class as the main damage dealers then the Ashley should get the autocannon.

wha?

When I loaded the file the game didn't remember my position proper
due to the camp being on the edge of the map.

I just barely had enough fuel to make it.

As voted on, here are our vehicle layouts:

Our best weapons are the 60mm autocannons and the minigun.

A former is a constant dakka dakka weapon while the latter fires in bursts.

As such attack range is more important for the minigun, so the minigun equipped car gets the targeting computer.

tZCeJhQ.png

Both Ashley-class cars still get a chainsaw and a A.I.M.

pyTN1ub.png

Our other three weapons have similar DPS, so it is impossible to distribute weapon power evenly. Oh well.

The camp shop, if you guys are curious. I never like having to buy gas out here in the wasteland so pricy

First radio signal coming right up!
