 I knew they weren't going to leave Sanguine Plate alone

EDIT: I'm curious: since it grants Spell Holding for a Barbarian ability, does the ability do nothing for others like Fighters?

It's funny how many people were pointing out how fan of flames was so much more powerful than other level 1 spells and the response was "the extra positioning needed balances it".

Much like how the devs said that companion stats were carefully devised to facilitate rich characterization, citing the highly perceptive Grieving Mother as a specific example.

And now

  • Grieving Mother's Perception and Intellect scores have been switched.

Yeah, and then retards all around this site started complaining how the companions weren't minmaxed OP characters.

so, Iren, did you become a fanboy because of the tag, or did they give you the tag because they knew in advance you were a fanboy?

Maybe someone read my statement ridiculing that one.

here's a new option to reset newly recruited companions to level 1 (without losing the experience). This will allow you to level up companions to your liking.

Is this some kind of bad joke ?

The dilemma of when hiring them becomes a moot point.
Same as the choice between custom silent adventurers and already defined talkative companions.
As the companions are as much customizable as adventurers, the latter lose most of their point.

You can't customize the stats, race, culture, background and class of companions.

About 8 meters beneath sea level.
Wizardry 8 had custom npc's that actually had character and a shitload of banter. Really was an impressive thing and gave your party some genuine personality. Amazing that no other blobber ever did something like that again.
