Shields could use a nerf, there's no point in using immobile or CCless chars atm.

why do people like this game? give me a quick review

It's basically Tf2 with waifus, you have lots of attractive rear ends to gawk at in between shooting.
Matches are fairly short so helps cut down on frustration if your team is getting butchered.
It's also a very noob friendly game in that precision point click aiming isn't really needed in comparison to most other multi fps. Ex: try playing a sniper in any other multi game (bonus points if it's something like red orchestra darkest hour) then play sniper in OverWaifu, it's super easy mode. I say this as the worst sniper in the history of gaming, yet even i can line up headshots in OW, half the time without even meaning to. Heck recently people were bitching about a hanzo nerf cos his target area for headshots went from being xbox huge to something actually head sized. Of course they changed it back, was too hard otherwise.

Finally it's made by blizz and a sizeable segment of the population are contractually obligated to love their games even though OW is missing tons of features you'd expect from a full priced fps multi shooter such as lobbies, private servers or even a wide selection of maps.
Not me though, only reason i play this is for the waifus and cos i can't aim for shit in fps so playing OverWaifu makes me feel like i'm actually good at these games.
And even then i still main mercy cos seriously guyz, aiming is hard.

Apparently these were the stats of how much the heroes were used in comp play(poor Symmetra).

No fucking wonder people are always bitching at me to play Lucio for everything (mercy main when it comes to supports).

On attack:
People:play lucio!
Me: ok that actually makes sense, sure.

On defence:
People:Ew don't play mercy(and sometimes symmetra), be lucio or we lose!
Me: But this map has no place for me to knock people off, the speed boost is hardly going to be of use, i can do a better job healing as mercy and my res would be far more useful then sound barrier most of the time.
People: OMFG play lucio or we lose! PLease!!!!!!!! Please!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me: Fucking people. Also i hate it when people say "please", it's not like they are actually being polite by screaming at me in order to get their way.

Hookay, game is p. fun. Played like 10 hours or so.

Characters are a bit too fragile overall, about the same as the scout in TFII. Farah is as fun as I had hoped, though I wish she had a smaller personnel type weapon. Perhaps later on all classes will get alternative weapons you can switch out. Her Ultimate ability is very satisfying to use.

Bastion and Reinheart are a lot of fun. So is Widowmaker; grapnel is a lot of fun; just wish you could keep using it like Soldier 76's dash rather than have it be a cool down ability. I really like how she can hold her own using a normal machine gun, and isn't just a glass cannon sniper.

Support heroes are too weird, will take getting used too. No matter how much you dress it up, playing a healer is never near as much fun as playing other classes.

Didn't enjoy Genji much, maybe it's because he is too fragile and doesn't really use his sword a lot, focusing on shruikens instead. They should have had the sword as one of his main weapons, rather than as his ultimate. Instead make the quick dashing slash of his the ultimate, or make the ultimate a shruiken barrage.

Reaper is ok; his ultimate is way too powerful, and his regular attacks too weak. He should weild regular dual pistols instead of shotguns, sacrifice power up close for damage at range. His teleport ability is shit, needs massive improvements/buff. Wraith ability is ok, but also needs to be improved. They should look at ( yes I know it's cancelled) Nosgoth's Reaver for inspiration on how to make Reaper tick.

Also there is too much incloooosiveness in the game; too many cool heroes are female only.

edit: After I get some more practice why don't we get a Codex league or something going, with Codex matches? I'm on the Kwan servers, but from what I recall of my Hearthstone days it's pretty easy to switch for a session if most of you are on EU or whatever.

Reaper is not that bad considering the fact that he can be stunned, pushed or killed while doing his ulti, which is also blocked by shields.

I really like that the characters aren't bullet sponges. I wouldn't play the game at all if headshots weren't rewarded. I main Pharah, and I feel like she has the highest potential to roll over games just from the damage of her direct hits. Once I learned to reliably hit people instead of aiming at the ground, and hover strafe, I as two-three shotting everything in sight. Getting that Blue Plate Special on another pharah is the best feeling. Her rockets are about the same speed as the direct hit from TF2. Sadly, pharah is hard countered by mccree and widow (thankfully most of the players in this game can't aim).

Zenyatta is the most fun support hero because of the incredible DPS potential and really damn strong normal attacks.

Reapers normal attacks are extremely high damage, you just need meatshots and headshots in melee range. the damage falloff is very high. Wraith form, when used effectively is fucking infuriating to play against. Teleport is useful on certain maps, like the pagoda level in the chinese koth map, because there are a lot of spots within LOS to teleport to that can't be seen by enemies. It's total shit on other maps, like the indoors nepal map, or all of illios.
