Zinogre in MHW is defo something i want to see. Always liked its design (non bullshit kirin) and with changes to movement, AI and animation it should be amazing to fight it.

I've just realized how pissed I'm going to be when (not if, because why even hope) the PC comes out and I have to start all over again because there's no save/progress transfer. :mixedemotions:

Well you will just replay game twice.

Zinogre is gud, one of my fav monsters to be sure. I just hope they don't fuck up his armor and weapon designs. I wonder if they have plans to add Steve or any of the MHX flagshippers, those were really good. One thing that I find odd about these leaks is that there is no mention of Dalamadur being released. I say odd because people who scavenged the MHW files found that Dalamadur exists within the game files, in all its HD glory.

Well if you follow development of games you would know that games often contain shitload of content that is finished but not in game for various reasons.

It could be that they planned him but along the way they scraped idea and focused on other monsters which they needed more. So team responsible for model did it but team that was supposed to animate it, create AI patterns etc. didn't do anything.

--------------

I 100% sure that capcom will be throwing all people to work on G-version or straight up updates to MHW. They planned 1.5 sales at launch period and they got instead 6 mln (not even a month past by so it could be 7mln right now).

Capcom is no stranger to making files found on Disc as post-launch DLC, often paid. Fortunately, most monster updates (except maybe G-Rank?) are going to be free, from what we can tell so far, so there's that shred of hope.

I'm just excited this game is getting more frequent updates than your average MMO right now. I'm afraid to check my time played, but I'm having a blast just grinding ducats, and building new weapons and armor. Haven't even attempted double Beetlejuice yet, but I'm starting to fall in love with Lance now that I've gotten my feet wet with the combat system. And I haven't even gotten the fun decorations yet. I can see myself not buying the PC version because of the possible shelf-life this has, famurai.

So this weekend I finished the main game and another two post-game assigned quests -
HR 29 dual Bazelgeuse and HR 49 Kirin quest
. Am I right that past here it's just playing with the new upgrade options while grinding to HR 100 for the final final quest? I know vaguely what that one involves but I'm wondering whether it's any tougher than the two I already went through - which felt a lot easier than a couple of the fights to get there.

Also - just because I have no previous experience with the games so I don't know if there's a precedent for how they do this - is the new content likely to require being at 100 to access it?

No you finish game after beating Xenos. Everything after it is the same stuff repeated harder.
Personally i didn't even finish that HR29 quest. Yeah you unlock some better gear modification but imo it is not worth it.
Just join us depressed waiting for proper expansion to get real meat of the game.

MHW and Tri are the only MH games in west that came without G rank expansion which is like huuuuge content expansion. Before that we waited almost a year before release but at least we got Grank.

MHW on top of that is rather small for MH game which is understandable since everything is new. I got 150 hours in it but it won't cover 400-500 like in MH4U or MHXX

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Low rank armor isn't worth grinding for. Better to invest in weapon upgrades and git gud because almost everything will be opened up to you once you hit high rank

I hear we're getting Mega Man soon as well! I've been quiet on this, but I'm still having a BLAST with the game, about 200 hours in. Desperately trying for a Guard Up Decoration, so I can complete my Lance set without that God awful Uragaan set. Made a Lance of every element, and am starting to get a feel for Switch Axe as well.

March 22nd announced as official release date for Joe. Weapon balances are also being made at the same time. Translations so far are lousy, so us gaijin need to wait awhile. (It's called the "Spring Update," rumors abound of a lot more than 1 monster added, but right now it's just Deviljo)

From what I've seen of the poor translation, Red + White, Red + White + Orange is going to give a larger attack buff to Insect Glaive. Longer duration to all buffs. Timer does NOT count down when mounted (!!!)

Long Sword has larger Foresight window

Great Sword gets Stronger Lv. 2 and 3 charge attack damage

SnS can now use Wedge Beetles with weapons drawn. Stronger round slash.

Hammer has increased stun damage for a variety of its attacks

Hunting Horn gives Attack Up + Knockback Protection when you land an Encore.

Gunlance is getting a buff to Wyvern Blasts, and it uses less sharpness.

Dual Blades gets faster Demon Gauge I think?

No changes for Bowguns, some bug fixes for bows.

Lance is getting 'Super Armor' following successful Counter Thrust. No more getting ragdolled after blocking the first hit of a multihit combo I guess?

Switch Axe is getting Lv. 4 Earplugs during ZSD. ZSD is getting a power boost. Sword Mode charge no longer going to be consumed when Discharging during a Mount. New combo paths as well.

Charge Blade seems to be getting a nerf to its 'stun' from Ultra. Impact Vials are getting a damage reduction, Power Element Phials are getting a boost, and will detonate in a more dense area compared to the wide 'V' shape right now. Certain damage boosts will not be affecting Vial blasts?

Free one-time redesign of your hunter (not gender?). After this, it will cost "money" (in-game? real?).

After completion of a hunt, a third option will be added - "Return to Gathering Hall."
Players attacks will no longer interrupt another player during carving.

Quicker load times. (!!!)

This gives me hope that Capcom won't fuck up the future armor / weapon aesthetics as badly as they did with the release equipment. The Joe equipment looks good as always. I'm also assuming that with the release of Joe we will be able to upgrade our armor and power charms. Seems like Capcom is making Zero Sum Discharge worth using as well, which is nice. SA should be a whole lot more fluid now with the buffs it's getting.

Community designed weapon (Great Sword) coming soon.

Beetlejuice gets his comeuppance!

More big news!

April 13th = Mega Man armor set for our Palico. It's a fucking pixelated MM.

maxresdefault.jpg

There will be a livestream identical / similar to the one earlier later in the day presented in English. We'll see if anything was lost in translation, or if they correct / clarify other changes.

Not the most high res pic, but you can see a couple of Joe weapons:

Lance looks like the Gargoyle spear from DS3? Insect Glaive design is pretty boring, though.

DMC update - Gun gesture will be paid DLC. Sparda is a...Charge Blade? K...

Well, bros....260 hours in, it finally fucking happened - I got that Godforsaken Guard Up Jewel to complete my Lance Build, and can ditch the fugly Uragaan set.

I think the only Jewel I don't have at this point is the Mind's Eye one. I even got a 2nd Attack Boost Jewel before the damn Shield Jewel. Naturally it dropped while I was practicing with the Hunting Horn.

Time to make a bunch of sets, and give the Tempered Joe Event Quest everyone has been talking about a shot! I hear he's the closest thing to G-Rank we'll be getting in awhile, and has been causing tons of grief to newbies, and vets alike. Particularly those who build very offensively. His Jagras toss supposedly 1 shots people...
