I'm wondering if anyone here has given this a shot. I spent some time with it last night. Mostly because it looks like it is structured the same way that Hearthstone will be in terms of economy and hero character. Right now I'm not sure it has much depth. I like the way it has tried to make positioning matter, but I haven't seen a way to act on an opponent's turn.

A lot of the 'mastery' aspect of Magic was when to cast things and the order that effects resolved.

I probably put this in the wrong forum since it is a card game.

Although I had been playing it a bit lately and it was starting to grow on me, I recently found out that there is no draft tournament option, so it is very much pay-to-win. The way their ELO system works you will be facing opponents with similar ability to win, not similar cards. That means if you are even a bit above average at playing card games, you will always be playing people with better cards.

A frustrating situation to be sure, but there is some talk that they will eventually add a draft at which point I will probably give this another shot.
