Arcane
This will be very challenging, not counting that the not so "documented" playthrough has already been one of the most challenging ones I ever had, because... you'll see in this update. Actually I played this without thinking on making a LP out of it first which is why this first update is a bit sparse and covers several years rather than throughly detailed as of usual.
Kaiserreich is an interesting mod, but most AARs focus too much on fluff, LARPing and events and too little in the actual action, and nobody ever managed to make justice to National France, in my opinion.
I intend replace that flag with the Free French Forces flag after this update and rename National France as Free France.

The long road and race to Paris and the Second World War
Le chant des partisans
The world has changed. Germany has won the Great War, but in wake of its victory, extremism has risen among the defeated, differing from such fact Russia, which has prevailed against the likes of Lenin thanks to German support, with the exception of Georgia where the incredibly Liberal Beria took power, supposing someone gives a fuck about Georgia.
On the other hand, after being crushed and humiliated by the Germans, both Britain and France were swallowed by the reds, India had part of it turned commie and Italia was split between the catholic north and the commie south, as if there weren't enough reds. At first, they called themselves Syndicalists and pretended to have elections and functional democracies, or according to their rethoric, direct self-managed democracies, but make no mistake, for like a certain man who was totally opposed to the idea of using a government for achieving this kind of thing said:
Freedom without Socialism is privilege and injustice
Socialism without Freedom is slavery and brutality
WHICH IS BETTER AND WHY?
DISCUSS!!!
And in this new world, Democracy was dying, and freedom withering all over Europe. Even in Kwanzania, communist fervor combined with a new rampage of Dixie extremism threatened to provoke a new civil war, and communism was also growing strong in Thirdworldia America as Germany was to be struck by the crash of the Berlin Stock Market, that in this timeline replaced the crash in Amerikwa.
Now a copypasta from the game along all this Introductory fluff:
The Third Republic ended in the way it began: defeated by German arms, and facing Communist Revolution at home. In the aftermath of the French Communal Revolution, the whole apparatus of state and French military, sheltered in Marseille, quickly embarked with the French Navy to Algiers, fleeing the newly created Commune of France. After the peace negociations with Germany, the French refugee politicians decided to start from scratch again, proclaiming the French Fourth Republic, in exile in Africa but claiming the French motherland. Soon, it was obvious that the parliamentarian regime was outdated, as the exiled leading politicians were mainly nationalists and authoritarian : the military subsequently seized the executive powers, under the leadership of popular marshal Ferdinand Foch. After his death in 1929, the victor of Verdun, Philippe Pétain, took his succession, helped by his protégé, admiral François Darlan. Now, the military regime of French Republic in exile, still allied with the British monarchy in exile, continues to take nationalist orientations, even restablishing the fleur-de-lis, the Royalist symbol, on the flag. Does National France will be ready to go back to his motherland, despite the increasing troubles with the native populations, tired of French authority, or with the Young Guard represented by colonel Charles de Gaulle?
And at last the Screenshots proper for this first post. I hope this will be popular enough I got bored with some of the ongoing LPs I have but don't worry. All of them will be finished... eventually.
The year of 1936 was an year of building up. National France, which had in that year the military dictatorship as its government, was undergoing a major industrialization plan while its forces stood near the border with Mittelafrika, the German colony with some autonomy ruled by the extremist Hermann Göring who was know for having a massive hatred of Jews, and tossed in such shithole because his extremism caused him disfavor with the Kaiser for being politically inconvenient, after all, Jews being Jews, they have power, influence and can shape nations and define who will get the upper hand all along.
Of course, this all meant MittelafriKKKa was the only serious threat to National France's sovereignty, or so they have thought. A program to categorize any possible values and population in the Sahara was started in this year, and in time, National France began to tax the Berbers and desert people and exploit its few resources, something that started fully by 1937.
This led to tensions that culminated in the mass murder of white women by machete rape gangs of wild niggers commanded by the separatist and uncivilized Tuareg Confederation, threatening the stability of National France in the year of 1938. And this while France proper was undergoing democratic reforms, proving that niggers being niggers, this has nothing to do with freedom, and everything to do with savagery.
PS: In the actual in-game text for this mod, obviously not using racist terms, it is explicitly mentioned that a settlement of French people is raided by Tuareg rape gangs. This is like that thing Cleve was talking about.
The whole thing is settled, and all proven rapists sentenced to castration, because death is too merciful of a fate for such wild animals.
All right, enough pretending to be a KKK member and genuinely extremely racist person to get Kodex Kool Kredits is enough.
The Tuareg rebellion didn't last much, and after crushed, it would never rise again, and thus the internal safety of National France was secured. By the end of 1938, in spite of this rebellion, France finally had democratic elections and the return of freedom, becoming the only member of the old Entente that was actually a democracy, for others were swarmed by reactionaries. And since then, they looked only to one place, one goal they knew the Entente had no effective means of helping them to achieve. Also, in this year, the American Civil War and the Spanish Civil War came, with mixed results. The American Union State, inspired by the Confederated States of America and backed strongly by the Ku Klux Klan, was short lasted, and crushed along the conflict, but the other splinter faction, another damn red, the Combined Syndicates of Amerikwa, was dangerously close to seize Washington, and for the legitimate government of the United States, the war wasn't going very well.
Lapdogs of Germany and Commies were slowly overtaking the entire planet, and in this bleak world, the only legitimate France had to carry on, and continue building up their army now that their industrial plans were finished, until they actually ran out of manpower. And thus, by 1938
In the year of 1939, while the Red Menace was swarming all over the planet, from the Spanish Civil War came good news. A new alliance idealized by Carlist Spain and Italy was forged: The Catholic Alliance was intended as an alliance of nations against the rise of Syndicalism and Totalism and all other godless commies, while maintaining itself independent from German influence. The Catholic Alliance was also offered to Austria, besides the signatory members: Carlist Spain, Ireland, Italy proper, Portugal and of course, France, which abandoned the decrepit Entente to join it, while Austria refused to join it.
Their loss, which would prove itself even greater as not much later, a major weakening of Austria would pave the way for the German Empire to conduct its Anschluss, after which Hungary rose in proeminence as a Great Power within Central Europe, allied to Germany. All these nations will, one day, be obstacles for the great goal of freeing France, and that is something the new, Free France is well aware of. Had Austria switched sides with the Catholic Alliance, things wouldn't be as difficult, but the world isn't always favorable to those who were defeated in the past to balance things.
Like the Union of Britain under INGSOC, Kwanzania is transformed into a Totalitarian socialist Police State, or Totalist, in short, and the legitimate government, soon to make its last stand in California, is on the verge of defeat, while New England, backed by Canada, is the last refuge of democracy in Kwa'. This is a great blow, which shall echo all over that continent and over the world. The reds are taking over the world! And this trend from initially "Syndicalist" reds becoming Totalists has been going all over the commies, proving that the only future of their revolutionary governments is a future of tyranny and misery, of a jackboot stomping a human face, forever.
Many would rather live in Germany than under such regimes, from how horrible and inhuman they were, but the fortifications in the Commune of France's border with Germany were not there just to keep the Germans out, but also to keep the French victims of oppression in. Partisans, even among some socialists who opposed the turn towards despotism of the French government have formed, but along the pervasive oppression, they stood little chance.
Free France was their only, last hope, and in doing so, they would have to face some of the most powerful nations of the world: the Union of Britain, the Socialist Republic of Italy, the Commune of France and the Combined Syndicates of America.
As the month of August came, the Second World War has begun along border incidents between the Commune of France and Germany, and immediately, the only and best opportunity to free France from communist tyranny has come, hopefully before the Germans seize everything themselves. Thus, the time has come. Even depleted of manpower after a considerable build-up in preparation for this, France wouldn't waver against the communists! Because this is the last hope. Liberty or death!
Song
De Gaulle gathered as many men as he could before everything began, and they advanced over Southern France, well aware that the Germans were also advancing. They had to arrive first, and liberated as much of the motherland as they could before the Krauts subjugated the entire French land. Such was a very difficult task, even with the support of brave Italian, Portuguese and Spanish soldiers, for together they were still far inferior in power and numbers to the might of the Commune of France. It would require a great strategy to ensue victory in time for the most important goal.
Free France's best hope lies in creating a massive pocket over the Aquitaine, even if it requires a minor strategic retreat southwards, which as long as ensuing the forced surrender of countless of their forces through encirclement would be worth. For that, many men gave their lives.
And thus they advanced, with that goal in mind, although it became quite clear they numbers were limited for such a daunting front and massive enemy force. They had to outsmart them, to better deploy their forces in compensation for being outnumbered. However, their morale was much greater, for the people of France has been disillusioned with their "revolutionary" government, only not opposing it openly out of fear. Rather than protests, Free France was received with great celebration, while in the hoepes
The people in Aquitaine celebrate the great victory of their liberators, who, against all odds, have managed to encircle and utterly defeat dozens of reds over there, releasing all political prisoners and closing down the gulags and other death camps that won't ever be forgotten. The closing of this war to free France of communist tyranny draws near, but in the end, it will be only the beginning, for they were also competing with the Germans on who reaches the territory of their enemy first, and that was far more important than the act of defeating the commies itself, while a future war with Germany is all but inevitable, once this is over.
Free France has gone far, but the immediate enemy isn't defeated yet, and the ultimate goal remains distant along all their legendary victories, because:
In the war that changed the world, victory was not achieved by one man, but by the lives of many.
Across the battlefields of Europe, many nations united, to reach one goal:
Kaiserreich is an interesting mod, but most AARs focus too much on fluff, LARPing and events and too little in the actual action, and nobody ever managed to make justice to National France, in my opinion.
