So far the story and dialouge look like shit. Hows the atmosphere? Does it feel like System Shock 2?

I would say it feels more like Doom 3 than System Shock, at least right now. There's not enough tech-horror stuff and crazy AIs for it to be like System Shock, but going through the dark (and quite neatly looking) corridors of the earth, beheading muties and finding out wtf happened is still kind of fun. Not scary in the least, though, as the mindfuck 'LOLOLO SCARE U ^_^' moments like the madmen moving out of freezers are not frequent enough, and mutant hordes don't scare you 'cause you have a fire axe (and a shotgun).

Doom 3 eh? That kind of "scary" never does much for me, just a lot of jumpscares and monsters being spawned behind you, and random noises that can't hurt you. Eh.

Right, this LP has lost a bit of momentum, but I've been busy as all fuck lately. Still, probably gonna update it tomorrow.

Last time we left dear ol' Albert, he's just learned that GLOREH may not have been the only Shelter to survive ITZ.

GE63xh.jpg

That's why he is on his way to the database on this level to hack sum info.

Nd4dih.jpg

Vsskrh.jpg

And there we are

xzzozh.jpg

cYifFh.jpg

hg4Wsh.jpg

However, there is a guard here, watching over the data banks.

Ryofih.jpg

A single shot from the raging bull revolver turns his head into a bloody cloud  that gun is fucking serious

nk8TYh.jpg

Now to hack some data...

GmDsrh.jpg

The truth is out there

pPDLxh.jpg

But then the image on the screens changes. In case you don't see it, it's Karolina being escorted by two Hussars.

ILQfBh.jpg

NdoeYh.jpg

The Hussars pass a saluting guard

As1Dih.jpg

Albert rushes to the rescue

DjHs4.jpg
LEAVE MAH BITCH ALONE : x

L83dJh.jpg

Having slaughtered the lone guard, Albert finds himself in another decontamination area.

NArIXh.jpg

Which opens up just as the next doors close behind the Hussars

gihjFh.jpg

Another door can be hacked, opening a way around. Time for an epic chase

17mI8h.jpg

It seems we've landed in the hydroponics garden. Also, two guards try to intercept us but meet only DEFF AND DEFEHT

ppmA5h.jpg

aAOwxh.jpg

There they are!

60zWxh.jpg

The Hussars can actually take quite a lot of beating, especially from the assault rifle.

ZGGsAh.jpg

But a single headshot from the revolver still means instakill. That's some serious fucking calibur.

tZyaqh.jpg

DjHs4.jpg
They may be elite... but I am serious.

UIjOUh.jpg

DjHs4.jpg
Thank God... you're lucky to be alive.

wxNx1.jpg
Where were you? What the hell happened? I heard some strange noises and then... The contamination...

DjHs4.jpg
There's really no time! Most of the people here have gone insane. They attack anyone they see.

wxNx1.jpg
Why are they...?

DjHs4.jpg
I don't know! I went through the Second Sublevel and everyone there is either crazy or dead! I saw a man there. He must be the one who caused all this.

wxNx1.jpg
That's what I heard from Marcin! He said he needs to talk to you about it!

DjHs4.jpg
Marcin... he's dead.

wxNx1.jpg
Oh my God! How?

DjHs4.jpg
I told you, now's not the time.

o_ó

wxNx1.jpg
I'm... sorry. What... what are we going to do now?

DjHs4.jpg
Let's head to the Third Sublevel.

wxNx1.jpg
Why?

DjHs4.jpg
Arek's down there. We need to find him and get out of this shithole.

wxNx1.jpg
Uh... if you say so... But I'd like to take some of my things with me...

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME

DjHs4.jpg
Forget about it. Even the guards are after us. To the cargo lift! It's near the Shelter's main gate. Hurry! We don't have all day!

wxNx1.jpg
You're not helping, you know that?

*Smack* get back to the kitchen.

mVcajh.jpg

GO GO GO

sGFJ1h.jpg

This looks p. cool.

k3QF7h.jpg

c4nuch.jpg

Karolina makes it to the lift...

WHEN SUDDENLY,

E5hJe.jpg
Here they are!

tdC3vh.jpg

wxNx1.jpg
Watch out!

C4wObh.jpg

Tokaj sprints to the lift

qbTU1h.jpg

But the heat is hot on his trail.

MRckLh.jpg

The lift starts moving just as the guard notices Al.

6jqVSh.jpg

One of them, however, jumps after our heroes!

jlooSh.jpg

And he is quite eager to administer Albert some serious wpierdol.

gdTjxh.jpg

Which he does. Albert gets KO'd

cyDzoh.jpg

Hhv2Vh.jpg

Then the guard catches Karolina

lXkCjh.jpg

And throws her off onto a nearby platform.

0ZkKZh.jpg

Then moves towards Tokaj to administer some more wpierdol...

byKd1h.jpg

bGINhh.jpg

We start immediately under fire.

11lxWh.jpg

And the fucker is packing serious heat. Also, since this is another of those trollish level switches, we've lost all guns, except for the pistol + 1 clip.

QAZZfh.jpg

BOOM!

0cpRlh.jpg

THEY KEEP COMING

np2dsh.jpg

AND COMING!!!!

3mH9Jh.jpg

Fortunately, that was the last platform.

FGj42h.jpg

6dBmKh.jpg

DjHs4.jpg
As well as the colonel's office. I need to open the main cargo gate.

We loot some ammo from the dead guardsmen

nZytfh.jpg

Then kick a container door on the lift.

Bt7jFh.jpg

Yes, this will be greatly useful.

f3RUfh.jpg

The condition updates with a new level.

ahjOph.jpg

Pretty.

2w06Lh.jpg

What dread awaits us in these forgotten halls? Only time will tell.

The weapon-reset looks more like some sort of a bug than a feature, if you ask me. Still gay, though.

Seems like a lazy way to easily maintain balance/challenge without having to factor in people who conserve ammo when they can.

It reminds me of a feature of that mediocre game, Alan Wanker, in which after you completed a level, the protagonist immediately falls down to another place (usually another forest, because the developers apparently loved these) and loses ALL of his weapons and stuff, sometimes even downgrading his flashlight to the basic model. I guess it was an attempt to balance the combat and make it "scarier", but they forgot the 1st rule of making a good survival horror: Don't give the protagonist regenerating health FFS.

Yeah, that's my guess as well, but it doesn't make much sense. There's never really a shortage of ammo around, and there's not even any reason given for losing all the guns.

By the way, how many weapons can you carry at the same time?

Sort of 4. A sidearm, a heavy waffe (assault rifle/shotgun), fists (or telescopic baton, but I don't really think you can even find one after the first levels) and an improvised melee waffe (like fireaxe) that you drop each time you take out another weapon.

I'm actually amazed this thing finally got released. :salute: to the devs for persistence.

The sad thing is that I only learned of the game's release through newsposts that their (pretty cool) marketing scheme of getting pledges for 1$ a copy failed.

All those Pollack names make the game feel very potato. And I can see that the Colonel was supposed to be something of a post-apoc Józef Piłsudski. :salute: I like the setting and the atmosphere, feels amusingly familiar.

And goddammit, I guess everyone's used to Polish games having wonky Polglish instead of proper English, but these dudes did not even run their script through a spell-checker. It reads sort of better than the original Witcher game, but it still amazes me that nobody ever takes proper care to have their script edited to top-notch quality - especially when the game's of the ROMANTIC CINEMATIC STARSHIP EMOTIONAL CUTSCENE EXPLOSION plot-driven type.

Were the dialogues in the first two/three updates really in-game? They were pretty funny.

Of course they were

Last time we left mr Tokaj, he's just arrived to a hueg cargo hold of sorts on the third sublevel...

N0AdNh.jpg

WHEN SUDDENLY, daemons have appeared from the warp.

Pn9jhh.jpg

who would have guessed

vRsrBh.jpg

Using the console here opens them massive doors.

CqEloh.jpg

And spawns a hussar behind Albert.

TwAjOh.jpg

There's a lot of shit behind that massive door.

sQXyYh.jpg

OSNAP, going into a side 'alley', Albert gets ambushed by hussars jumping off containers.

Killing them reveals an ammo dispenser and power hammer. Neat.

AEQW1h.jpg

Moving on, we get attacked by more abominations.

vh5wmh.jpg

The fuck is that thing.

49VRPh.jpg

MORE INCOMING!

They are all disposed of, and Albert's PDA is updated with the new enemy:

IS2DCh.jpg

'They were once... HUMAN!' No way, Al. In a sealed Shelter full of people, something was once... HUMAN! I'm sure they are just hullghasts.

Anyway, chimeras are what they look like: fat and hit hard, but slow as shit. Lead injection works against them just as well as it does against everything else.

zAKUCh.jpg

A console that works on the basis of 'HOLD E'

nmNSHh.jpg

It raises a nearby container, enabling Albert to pass.

Arek's room... but he's not here.

vuHcBh.jpg

DjHs4.jpg
Where have I failed? The colonel was my patient, I knew him well. Why didn't I notice anything odd in his behaviour? Some signs of cruelty that may have given me a clue about his plans. He recruited someone to divert my attention... But who would agree to follow an order like that? Why would they involve us...? Four promising subjects... Karolina, Marcin, Arek and me.

What

DjHs4.jpg
One dead, two missing... But I'm still here. And I've had enough of this confinement...

Yes. I'm sure you'd had enough of this... confinement... mr Tokaj :M

Voice mail

And seal the locks! We cannot risk...

Shrug.

XZOfGh.jpg

I wonder what this button does...

Now brace yourselves, readers. For we have stumbled upon the ultimate in InAnity. The horrors we faced before have nothing on the kind of stuff we shall be facing now. Stuff like...

7L5D0h.jpg

THIS!

IxWOrh.jpg

Yes, this is exactly what it looks like. An RC car section. Because there's nothing better than RC cars in your game. Amirite? AMIRITE?!?!??!

This is probably the most boring part of the whole game. You just navigate through areas, evade some fans that try to crush you, the end.

Let's get this over with...

vDVUeh.jpg

You probably won't see it here, but the repair bot takes a look from a high ledge and notices a madman running towards the direction Albert's control room is.

KZd0Bh.jpg

Fortunately, you can stop controlling the bot and whack the guy before he whacks you.

cdGbSh.jpg

8IjCWh.jpg

Ah! A first deadly trap dead ahead! The stereotypical fan with one blade missing. You have to slide under it and not get crushed by the non-missing blades.

mPlSXh.jpg

Rollin'

ELD3rh.jpg

Rollin'

V94Beh.jpg

Rollin' in the shelter

More fans ahead.

puIJTh.jpg

And another stereotypical UBERFAN that you have to stop to get to the other side.

uUIRvh.jpg

Dumdedum, there be some cables up ahead, cap'n, arrrrr!

Jp0pEh.jpg

the bot gets close to the cables and uses some sort of welding thingy to cut through them

8xq82h.jpg

The fan stopped very conveniently and we can move on

rJV7sh.jpg

Now the brave little toaster will have to slide through this vent with two flame jets, using windows of opportunity when they stop flamin'

U2CE9h.jpg

Some more cables ahead.

There's actually a p. mean jumpy shock in this room. Behind that fence to the left is a guard with an assault rifle and two mutants. When you get close to the cables, the guard starts shooting (and dies) which gets you all riled up that niggers are shooting you.

ol5vhh.jpg

sum more weldin'

YgGDKh.jpg

And the controls are given back to Albert, so I guess the brave little toaster has done its duty. We salute you, brave little toaster.

wckzTh.jpg

The console to the right of the door changes colour from red to yellow.

GNvfdh.jpg

Finally, some dark maintenance tunnels, haven't seen those yet.

LCbtFh.jpg

Sup bros.

yxKFGh.jpg

Guess we're not going that way.

upu5Lh.jpg

more muties

30cqvh.jpg

dum-de-dum

yakNih.jpg

A console near sum generator thing.

PSmZkh.jpg

A puzzle we've seen before.

p7Grmh.jpg

It brings the power and lights back on, which, of course, lures another hussar this way.

NF4Hgh.jpg

Ca8zch.jpg

Indeed, it doesn't. Wonder what kind of mofo places it leads to.

nkBkjh.jpg

This looks promising.

The adventure of our super-psychologist continues!! I like how increasingly dramatic his journal entries are becoming, perhaps he's slowly going mad. Or maybe he was mad all the time, who knows M:

Yeah, they can. But this isn't one of them. Well, it's not really mind-bogglingly horrible, but it's just... inane. You just steer this brave little toaster around, looking at various rooms, evading three fans and two flame jets, reaching two sets of cables and that's it. If there was some kind of a puzzle to it, or a stealth element to get around mutants, but alas. There is only inanity :(

Actually, now that I write this, it makes me realise that this game could have come from Obsidian. There's a lot of potential inside, probably even many leftovers from something that was to be done but was cut out, which means a lot is half-arsed and inane, yet it's still kind of amusing. It could have been so much better with some proper funding and focus ('cause the concept for the game changed like 5 times), and I'm not even referring to getting rid of wonky animations and potatoenglish because fuck that.
