high res scans but all pdfs unfortunately

Well, after almost exactly a year and a half and 33,544 additional scanned pages, the CGW scanning project is now complete. Every single issue of the magazine's 25 year run is available online, from #1.1 in November 1981 to #268 in November 2006. The total, including the two issues of Computer Game Forum: 40,982 pages!

Clicked on the link expecting a QTE romance casual simcity simulator as per "every single issue".

Instead there's this. What the heck, Meltdown?

Yeah, I know, just kiddin' of course. Y'know, gotta keep edgy and things. Besides, "Computer Gaming World" and "All Issues" on General Gaming often means a Bethesdian or BioWarean DLC.

Dunno if it's just me but img code seems broken for your pics. No biggie as copy&go works, but just so you know.

god fucking dammit
:rage:

I thought I had found a reasonable substitute for imgur instead of photobucket, which has a bandwidth limit and is a right pain in the ass to upload shit to

Great, I love old gaming magazines  . They are high quality with text being text, not images :incline: .

Don't read, it might bring a tear to your eyes when you realize that uneducated Kotaku bloggers with douchey attitudes who write click-baiting articles have replaced intelligent jounalists who had professionalism at heart.

You need to post the real image URL

I have

quote the op post without javascript or just rightclick copy image location and you'll see

also your second image doesn't show up for me as well :(

shit. looks like my browser cache has been fooling me into thinking postimage didn't have the codex on their no-fly list

so what other quick and clean image upload options are there

Don't read, it might bring a tear to your eyes

Fuck, I just got a nostalgia for 80s :( .

I'd say that the 80s issues should be a mandatory reading for every KKKodexer. Anyway, I've just read a review of Gunship. Very informative.

Dunno if it's clean and quick, but I'd give the Russkie sites a try, they're still totally fine with NSFW categories and shit, as seen at, say, http://imgsrc.ru/

As I said though, never used it, no idea of the interface etc. Might work for your glorious/nefarious purposes though.

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015
From the January 1999 issue:

Finish the games, then ship them. This trend could kill our industry

From the March 2001 issue:

RPGs are better than ever, but those old-school games rocked, too!

Page 133

January 2001 issue: budget developers are allocating to PC vs. console

Bioware: 50%, Bethesda: 50%, Microsoft: 50%

2001: The year the decline came.

I fear that due to probable need in allowing javascript for full functionality I will not be tendering the regular services of the colorful russian image storage fleet anytime soon

It's... beautiful.

I want to go back to 1995.

Downloading the 136 issue, I used to own a copy - not a small deal in soviet russia!

Awesome, I've been waiting for him to fill in the blanks for years. Thanks meltdown.

#111 has a great collection of micro-reviews by Scorpia for what were pretty much all the major CRPG releases that existed at the time. It's particularly likely to get some raging since she shits on some Codex favorites :smug:

So nice to finally have digital copies of all these. Some of my hard copies were starting to fall apart.

Now I have something to do while I wait for the Summer Seal.

PS: I couldn't find a cover for Daikatana :(

PS2: I really want to cry.

Has anyone made a big torrent file or something that includes all of the issues instead of forcing us to manually right click and download all of them?

Great Scott! Also, they have some wonderful 8000 Plus Magazines! But... here's one useful tip. Just use a Free Download Manager and its "create batch download" option with a handy template:

http://www.cgwmuseum.org/galleries/issues/cgw_(*).pdf

... where (*) is a set range of 25-268 ("(*)" is variable assigned to the given range of numbers). Some earlier issues must be download "manually" due to non-enumerable file names.
