Bungie really excelled at storymaking in their early history. Halo still had its moments but went down the path of EPIC. This looks to be just the same. Civilisation has fallen and mankind is reaching out from its ruins to regain a modicum of what it once had. Awesome premisis and then they go and piss it away with a trailer that makes you (and everyone else online) the Chosen One in a fight against The Returning Evil Dark Gizmo who will come back to Finish The Job. How generic can you get?

It's Borderlands without the retarded "humor", without the retarded grinding to reach level cap (the devs said the level cap of 20 can be reached very quickly), with proper MMO mechanism (i.e. proper grouping for raids, proper large open zone, proper loot drop rate, etc.).

Also it's refreshing to see a game story with such an unashamedly optimistic vibe.

So it's a better than boredlands.

D1- actually no. I'll have to think about it first. I do have a ps3 but I don't really use it all that much nowadays... I'll put it in the 'maybe' pile. AC : Unity comes about a month and a bit after this so I should really save up for that instead. Decisions, decisions.

Well from the alpha that is now streamed on twitch ,it's like first-person Defiance without the open world map.You queue for pvp and pve missions from hub menu and after clearing the map you get loot that is very much on the Defiance level of blandness.It seems that there are two pve missions in the alpha with corridor structure and damage-sponge bosses/mini-bosses.Never played Halo,but people say enemy types are the same.The difference between any of the 3 classes from what is in the alpha(lvl 8 max) is only one spell per class and from what I understand there will be 2nd skill you unlock later(maybe there is more that is not in the present skill menu.
PvP got 2 small maps only with domination mode.You can't do anything while searching for players,but stare at the lobby.

There is so little content and mechanics in the alpha that it begs the question how are they going to ship the game in September without looking like a scam.
