Multiselect so I can send two allies one way and two allies another concurrently without playing manboonary with the controls. Imagine playing JA2 without multiselect or direct selections. Manboonary.
Eh, it's not like Dead State has you controlling 24 guys over several square blocks. You have 4 guys at most, typically hanging out at a gas station near a couple taco stands. Multiselect would be welcome but isn't anywhere close to necessary.

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex USB, 2014 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 BattleTech Bubbles In Memoria
Played this at release for maybe an hour or 2 then left it.

Fired it up again a few weeks ago, mostly thanks to a recently started very entertaining lets play (still ongoing) by a relatively new youtube guy, who is mostly interested in tb combat (he also has a playlist for xcom lw ironman which is pretty awesome, 300+ vids, 1 year real time, with a win at the end).

Like it much more than i anticipated (playing on ironman, hardcore and pc infected OFF for this pt though).

August Backer Rewards Update

Hi everyone!

We know you've been waiting to hear the latest update on physical backer rewards, and we're happy to say we have progress to report! We've received our pre-loaded bullet USB drives and they look fantastic:

Everything is on track now - most printed materials are ready to go, and it's mainly just the book's production that's left. With shipping drawing ever closer, let's go over one last thing:

We cannot change your shipping address for you! Kickstarter doesn't currently have a way for project creators to change their backers' info. You must go to the Dead State campaign page and click "Your Response" below your backer tier. There, you can update your address directly and it will be reflected in our records. Keep in mind, we will be disallowing address changes in a week or so; you'll get a 48 hour warning message letting you know before that happens.

If you have any questions for us pertaining to the Kickstarter, messaging us through KS itself is the best way to get a response; on the other hand, if you have questions about the game itself, the quickest way to get an answer is to visit our forums or Steam boards and post there.

Thanks for hanging in there while we've explored the wonderful and confusing world of Kickstarter reward fulfillment - we promise it's going to be worth the wait!

Does anyone know if there's a way in Dead State Reanimated to access your survivor's inventories from the base? because as it is it makes the party management a chore. Your survivors pick up weapons and stuff while scavenging but if you don't put it in your own inventory they will keep it until the next scavenging run, thus starting almost overburdened. Which is... :retarded:

If you go to the shelter storage screen there's a little drop box in the top left corner.

Hey! I'm late to the party as always and having a pretty decent time with this game, although the lack of polish in every corner can be annoying, to say the least.

I'm stumbling across named NPCs every now and then (not generic names like "nervous Looter", but something like "Cindy"). Is there any way to interact with those guys besides putting them to sleep? Or do you only get new guys for your school via the daily scripted events?

There are scripted events "in the wild" as well. Cindy is just there to make you feel bad. Don't worry, if the NPC is recruitable, you won't kill them by accident.

Glad to hear that. I thought that i missed the 'negotiate'button or something.
Another question: Is ranged viable at some point in this game? I decided to restart the game to switch from a shitty ranged build to a melee fighter. With a sledgehammer I can easily oneshot zombies now. I can oneshot zombies with a police shotgun, too, but it seems like for every problem I solve this way I create two new ones. Also, the aiming distances for guns seem to be ridiculously low.

As far as I know, it is never viable to walk around shooting guns indiscriminately. Firearms are very useful, but only when used thoughtfully.

Firearms are mostly useful for fighting other looters. Or if you are already surrounded from zombies and you have to clear a path quickly and your melee guys aren't available. My main char is competent in both to be useful in every situation because you have to keep him always for a trip.

Also useful if you want to attract all zombies on the map. After playing for a while i realized that it's easier to just shoot a few times, get all the zombies in on place, and then kill them using "shield wall" formation and molotovs. Then you can loot in peace instead of getting jumped by zombies all the time.

playing for first time. is venturing into shelters generally a bad idea (i.e. a million zombies and combat turns take FOREEEEEEEEEEEVER)?

It's certainly not required, but shelters do have some good stuff in them. My habit was to thoroughly loot every map and stealth kill everything in sight and that worked well back before the Reanimated Edition. But if you don't like combat being time consuming, you can absolutely get away with avoiding crowds. There are very few places you HAVE to go, and most "quest" items are available in more than one place.

Good idea. If you're up for the challenge. Eventually when you level up, all supply raids will become a chore instead of challenge. And this will happen sooner rather than later. And in the late game you will be just skipping days with 2000+ food in your storage.

Just stay the fuck away from military untill you get some good guns and armor... and someone who can shoot straight. Like Paul.

Is there some way to speed up healing your followers? Even if I let them stay at home they heal like 15 hp a day or smth :?
Until you learn to cast cleric spells, gunshot wounds and so forth take time to heal. You're not intended to just have one team and use them 100% of the time.

Find an unique crossbow named Platepiercer located in one of the northern commercial areas*. Max your character's ranged skill so you gain a maximum range bonus that will give the same crossbow enough range to hit zombies looking directly at your PC without them reacting, have some people to build extra bolts in the Shelter in the workshop(crafting bolts doesn't have much in minimum mechanical skill required) and you can pretty much take down almost all zombies one by one without starting combat, preventing you from having to wait turns for each of them. Bows also work, and compared to generic crossbows they are better, specially for high AP characters, but there is a chance two shots won't be enough to take down a single zombie.

That Platepiercer, like all crossbows, can only fire one shot per turn then reload for a character with 10 AP if you have the trait that reduces AP cost for firing so it costs 3 AP to fire it and 7 to reload, but it is seriously powerful because most body armor used by the toughest human enemies is less effective against bolts than it is against bullets. It often can one-shot kill most foes in the hands of a ranged specialist, specially with the traits focused on maximizing damage and crit chance against human opponents. Perhaps it is the best ranged weapon in the entire game, except maybe for the unique .38 antique revolver with less AP cost per shot than any other gun when given to a PC with maxed agility.

*
It is located in one of the areas Lane asks you to check where survivors who listened to his post-apocalyptic radio show were supposed to be, shortly after you rescue and bring him to the Shelter. You can stall scavenging the most zombie-infested areas until getting to this point, specially if you have enough fishermen with high survival skills.
