This will be a horrible train wreck and will probably end their hopes for making BG3 for good, which is reason enough to celebrate.
What gave you that impression except for the irrational Codexian fear of enhanced editions?

Let us draw from the facts then and take the quality of original content created by beamdog for the EEs in consideration.

Taking the EEs into consideration there's at least a major advance in the quality of the maps. If anything I'm cautiously optmistic that this will be overpriced serviceable fan fiction.

Let us indeed take into consideration to total shit that has been the original content made by Beamdog for the enhanced editions, not to speak of all the bugs they introduced and the poor rate they fixed them.

Beamdog has zero goodwill based on their work, while you guys seem to rely on fate alone that this will be good.

I think what Cosmo is saying is that he's relying on the Twitch stream.

You mean the extremely linear twitch steam with the horrible UI, the select all -> attack encounters and the bad writing?

Now i know Cosmo is praying to all the spirits for this to be good.

What it means (you idiot) is i'm totally agnostic towards that game (i never said it'd be good, that's the part you squeezed out of your sphincter), and the twitch session didn't seem to present the worse game of the century.
But a drama queen wants drama, not indifference, ain't that right ?

Did someone snag some screenshots of the new maps from the stream?

Who said it was going to be the worse game of the century? I simply pointed out that like all the other original content done by Beamdog, this would be shit, and that hopefully it would prevent them from getting the chance to make BG3. :M

I wasn't quoting anyone.
Btw I'll make myself even clearer : yes Beamdog's addition to the EEs were rather shit. Why still being agnostic then ?
Because a company as small as BD is only as good as the writers they hire, and since the EEs the team has significantly changed, it has even expanded enough to be seen as another team really, which means this game simply doesn't fall under the same umbrella as the EEs.

Does anyboy really play on something other than normal/core?

As of patch 1 for IWD:EE, there is an option to turn off the damage adjustments on higher / lower difficulty settings as well as the XP bonus. So if people want to fight 3 ogres in the first Easthaven cave (instead of one) but don't want them to deal double damage and grant double XP, they can do that now.

Furthermore, in SoD, difficulty settings affect a larger variety of things than just enemy damage. Some examples include enemy combat tactics (how intelligently they pick their targets), enemy numbers (3 enemies on Normal, 5 on Core Rules and 6 on Hard, 7 on Insane), enemy group composition (3 melee opponents on Normal, 2 additional archers on Core Rules, an extra healer on Hard and an opponent with special abilities on Insane) as well as enemy spell / item use (enemies won't use their most powerful spells and items below Core Rules).

WTF, that is awesome.
So you are saying that in SoD we can put it on Insane, get extra enemies but turn off double damage and extra XP we get normally for Insane?
I always played on Core rules because I wanted closest to D&D experience and didn't care for enemy that did more damage.

Deep in your subconscious mind spreading lies.
If true that is nice. But I'll remain skeptical until I see it, too many publishers spin the same shit. Still, if there one thing you couldn't complain about from the EE versions of games, it was the encounters added in BG2 EE and Black Pits 2. They were honestly some of the hardest (for the level range) encounters in the game. They were also usually fairly interesting in terms of enemy composition/items/abilities. Still remember that fucking drow fight where every single drow killed turned into 3 hasted, super venomous spiders, good times.

Not on the level of the difficulty mods released much earlier but frankly most of those were just BS and required a puzzle like approach to combat, with a very very very specific set of things needing to be done in the perfect order with the perfect timing. Kinda BS.
