Would have loved to see what could have been had this game remained Versus 13, and giving 15 to a team with expertise in different games, like they did with 12 (RIP Yiazmat). The Yakuza inspiration and subsequent M rating really would have shown Square Enix was back to taking risks and treading new ground. Nope. Just more of the same, overly safe pop culture shit.

And this one is especially bad because it's been hacked to bits so many times, they just threw together a bunch of features from other popular games to get it released.

Square is fucking ridiculous, their excuse for delaying the game an extra month was because they didnt agree with day one patches... now with the early release in Peru, of all places, it's confirmed that the day one patch will be 7.2GB...
Wait. Is it out already?

Peru is not that absurd as it sounds, it does have the largest Wapanese immigrant population after Brazil. Also Fujimorism.

Well, I'm watching the stream right now. It's hilarious to see the party get ripped apart by a single cactuar who is zipping around and using thousand needles . I guess that's the best argument I can make for FF with real time combat. Otherwise this looks like the same old tired open world garbage where you run around forever and spend more than half the game following your GPS and nothing happens.

Dunno so far it looks to me like the devs took DA:I as their model and thought how can we make this even more boring....
It also looks and runs pretty shitty (that stutter while driving....)

Impressions from an insider who (at least he says so) finished the game:

Part 1: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=224980608&postcount=1476
Part 2: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=224980680&postcount=1481

He's pretty enthusiastic (2nd best FF evah!!1!), even though he didn't like everything.

He's a total fanboy and is talking enthusiastic about the game for years now.
Makes me more optimistic on the game though, looks like it wont be trainwreck and actually decent.

I don't expect it to be a trainwreck either maybe if it released at the original release date a few months back now i expect it to be just mediocre.

Fun fact:
Verendus, a well known "insider" on GAF, said he played FFXV and finished it. People asked for what his thoughts was and so he posted them in this thread last night. For him it was the best game this gen so far and his second favorite behind FFVII in the entire series. However, Jason Schreier from Kotaku read his impressions and felt some of what he described was off. Jason would know since he probably has a review copy but even then he already played 15 hours of the game earlier this month. After that, a lot of people realized most of what Verendus wrote was known info. Many started asking for receipts, Falk PMed him to get clarification, but he hasn't appeared at all since last night.

Seems like he made the whole thing up to hype the game :mrpresident:

I doubt they'd ever give copies to viral marketers, and getting accurate info about the game out there doesn't seem to be in Square's best interest.
