Since there seems to be a complete lack of true Iron Men on this forum I will take the plunge. I've only completed FO2 once and never used the RP content so I'm pretty sure I am not going to make it to the end.

We also will be playing with Game Difficulty: Hard and Combat Difficulty: Rough.

This will also be a no frills LP. No LARPing for me this time. That shit is hard to pull off and makes the LP too much work. I also hope to not get to far ahead of the LP when playing. Makes it hard to remember what the plan was.

So without further delay here are the adventures of:

Paco - Idiot of the Wasteland - RIP
Chapter 1: In the Beginning
Chapter 2: An Idiot in Klamath
Chapter 3: The Toxic Caves of Doom!!!!!
Chapter 4: All Good Things...

Paco - Evil Genius of the Wasteland - RIP
Chatper 5: In the Begining
Chapter 6: The Den of Destruction and other Stories
Chapter 7: Busy work at the Vault
Chapter 8: Miners, Gangsters, Vaults, and Doom

Paco - Long Haired Pugilist of the Wasteland
Chapter 9: In the Beginning.

Chapter 1: In the Beginning (Idiot Paco)

fallout22011-04-1714-40-46-55.jpg

Here is the main FO2 Menu. You can see we are using RP 2.1.2b and sFall 2.12a. Would not use sfall except that FRAPS (which I totally paid for) cannot capture images from the regular FO2 renderer.

fallout22011-04-1714-42-45-43.jpg

Option screen to show that I am a man.

fallout22011-04-1714-44-46-84.jpg

Here is Paco. A physically gifted man who does well with the ladies. Not the brightest bulb in the world but he can charm the panties off a nun. He can punch a hole through a cement wall but is not real aware of what is going on around him.

And for some reason the gods think he is one lucky sun-o-bitch.

Guns are too complicated for him, he prefers to simply smash things. His sneaking and lock picking skills have come in very handy when invading the homes of nubile young tribals.

BTW I don't have shots of the beginning movies. Google them you lazy bastards.

And so we Begin
fallout22011-04-1714-50-30-63.jpg

Wonder if there is a way out of this mess.

fallout22011-04-1714-50-43-42.jpg

fallout22011-04-1714-50-44-74.jpg

Guess not. Into the temple.

fallout22011-04-1714-51-00-31.jpg

We equip the spear of destruction.

fallout22011-04-1714-51-43-21.jpg

Our first victim. An ant.

fallout22011-04-1715-09-25-59.jpg

Paco sucks at half the skills.

fallout22011-04-1715-09-30-98.jpg

But not lock-picking.

fallout22011-04-1715-09-46-28.jpg

Traps we can't defuse.

fallout22011-04-1715-09-59-79.jpg

fallout22011-04-1715-14-46-32.jpg

fallout22011-04-1715-14-54-41.jpg

Some antidote from a chest. Useful if the scorpions ever poison me.

fallout22011-04-1715-15-29-71.jpg

Time to break out the explosives.
fallout22011-04-1715-15-44-58.jpg

fallout22011-04-1715-16-00-94.jpg

Look like we have a 2% chance of this working correctly.
fallout22011-04-1715-16-12-65.jpg

I set the timer for 1:00 minute and run.
fallout22011-04-1715-16-26-98.jpg

20 seconds later this happens.

fallout22011-04-1715-19-59-75.jpg

Looks like the end.

fallout22011-04-1715-24-23-71.jpg

And that is an example of the stunning dialog we have to look forward too.

fallout22011-04-1715-24-27-07.jpg

fallout22011-04-1715-24-33-72.jpg

fallout22011-04-1715-25-22-51.jpg

Well is this the end? Is this the shorted LP of FO2 ever?
fallout22011-04-1715-25-27-68.jpg

fallout22011-04-1715-25-32-48.jpg

With 3 INT and mellee focus you wont last long. If you REALLY want to make it ironman you need a lot of AGI and END, screw charisma. Ranged weapons are also the thing, and outdoorsman I think, to avoid getting killed in random encounters...

Since this is the RP, you also need to get good gear really fast, because soon this one asshole is going to start attacking you in the Wasteland.

Yeah outdoorsman helped me survive the ironman challenge, and with Jinxed, it's often best not to attack at all and run like hell. If you have to fight, aim for the dick.

Good luck.. :D

Luck has nothing to do with it. Well maybe it has everything to do with it.

Okaaaaay! In retrospect, Ironman suit a dumb run. The high physical stats help. Not that I ever play ironman, or dumb.

:obviously: of oldmanpaco. Will follow.

We will see. I've never used a melee char before so I though I'd give that a try. I chose dumb so I could dump INT and would not be forced to have long drawn out conversation about the nature of man and whatnot.

But... but... what about Lord Paco and his merry troupe?

See you in June.

In any case, good luck, I predict that you won't make it to Den.

That hurts.

INT3 LP? Good. Keep it coming.

We will keep in coming for 3-4 updates max. I have one more update ready to go.

When Paco - Idiot of the Wasteland dies I might do a Paco - Evil Genius of the Wasteland Iron Man LP. That Paco will be better suited to survive the whole thing.

Yeah. Without the need to save up ammo or weapons I should be able to get some decent armor early.

The one thing I whish I had done is tagged Outdoorsman instead of sneak.

 I can't imagine how you can utilize stealth to your advantage in this LP. Especially with the amount of stupid random encounters you'd be getting. I think you'll be lucky to make it to New Reno, even.

I know. I might cheat the tag over to Outdoorsman. Although I don't know if the editors work with the RP install.

This is why you should never create a character while drunk.

Good Unarmed weapon you can have as early as Klamath, Spiked Fist, so it's survivable. Early game unarmed is easier to play than other type of combat.

Early game best combat is AVOIDING combat. Also I fail to see how having to run up to enemy and kicking him in the face/applying some knuckles is better than distance attacks. After all its safer fighting from a distance and even a simple pistol can be very useful.

Early game? low gun skill? worst gun? little and expensive ammo?

We have to save resources for the Metzer's fight and Lara's fight in The Den. Both are dangerous.

1. Steal shotgun off Metzger.

2. Aimed shots to the eyes

3. Profit

It's actually possible for Metzger's fight.

Lure both Vick and me into Vick's room next to Metzeger with PC as doorkeeper. Lock the outer door of Metzger, IIRC. That mean now we have to content with Metzger's bodyguards.

Drop a TNT any place possible in the room (floor, freezer...) then run like gecko toward that room. Hold that door. Any get near will get engaged by two melee and Vick's gun. That bottleneck will help limit the number of melee guards we deal with down to one or two. Use Healing Powders liberally since we use melee.

EDIT: And if you save enough you prolly have enough to buy shotgun and 20~ bullets. If you dont want to steal, that is. But placement is the key. We need to keep me, Sulik that is, from chasing after the pistoleers and get plugged. That is why that room is needed, because we can control who goes in and out of the room.
