[ Review ]

Today I take a closer look at Ageods Wars In America. I announced this review to Jason so many times that it's almost ridiculous. But it now also includes a beginners guide to playing the game, and that might actually be more interesting than my lousy attempts to write an objective review.

Other: confusing references to other games, fanboi bias, contains Indian porn.

What bothered me when I played this game was that I couldn't destroy a settlement when I took it. This was especially irritating as an Indian player when that settlement would later on spawn more militia or other forces as required by some historic event. Did I just miss something on my (admittedly) brief playthrough?

You can order the destruction of depots and forts but: "a city cannot be razed if if it is level 1 or above". Might have to ask in the forum.

Provinces get pillaged automatically when armies need supply. This represents the kind of destruction you could expect from indians and marauders (look at the pillage symbol):

I was mostly pissed about it in that smaller Indian vs British scenario. My little tribe pretty much dominated the map untill militia spawned all over and went butchering my braves.

Perhaps I'll give it another try in the future.

What you're saying makes sense for the Indian scenario. Does the demo only let you play Indian vs British? Pff, if that is so it's not a very good decision by Ageod, because the game only shines in the larger theaters.

One thing that the review is missing is comparisons to other AGEOD games and how they differ, although my view was brief and I might have missed them.

Anyways the only AGEOD game that I own is the original and I have only played the small scenarios. I might probably give it another try later.

Also how does BoAII and ACWBG differ? I often heard that BoAII is simpler that ACWBG and am not sure as to why.
