Beth's download also contains the patch.

Hmm and maybe the oldgames.sk one isn't the 'legal' download? I mean you could torrent DF if you wanted to before.

Nonsense. Bethesda can afford it as it was clearly seen when the Fallout 3 trailer was released.

Seriously, though, I doubt there would be so many downloads to have any impact on the bandwidth.

It was about time. All publishers should release their old games for free when the alternative is twice the original price on eBay. I guess that Bethesda/ZeniMax can do this easily, since they own the TES IP.

Yeah, I suppose you're right, it's doubtful the new crowd would be too enthused to play it when they can barely accept Morrowind's graphics nowadays.

Nope, it's pretty modless, only thing I know of is Andyfall.

I salute Bethesda for making a game nobody cares about free, because it wasn't available for free from all those abandonware sites in that alpha stage during all these years. Bethesda is improving.

Also this fail PR stunt means that we'll get TES VI announcement any day now.
