BattleGoat Studios is almost ready to break out the champagne for their pair of Elan nominations.

Ancaster, Ontario, Canada – PC Game Developer BattleGoat Studios is thrilled to announce that their computer game “Supreme Ruler 2010” has been nominated in two categories by the inaugural Canadian Awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts.

BattleGoat’s Lead Designer, David Thompson commented “We did our best to create a unique playing experience that would challenge the minds of our players, not just their trigger fingers. It is very gratifying to receive this kind of recognition for our efforts. And of course – it’s really cool!” Supreme Ruler 2010 is has been nominated as a finalist in the categories of Best PC Game and Best Innovation in Gaming.

Congratulations, guys! Of course, as far as I know, these might be pretend awards, unlike that award I got when I was 12 for "World's Greatest Boobie Inspector." That was a proud day around the baby arm household, let me tell you. Back on topic, you can read the World's Greatest BfME2 Fanboy's complaints about the nominations here.

babyarm: #1 Greatest Boobie Inspector and third place 1983 Keg Licking Champion.

Then again, you never had to contend against the fearsome Doodlebops Club House Games so your victories are hollow, man.

Trust me - there are bigger BfME2 fan boys than me.

Kudos to Battlegoat. For a first game, SR2010 is very, very impressive. Almost too ambitious, but I like it.

With the size of the Canadian computer game industry, it's more than a little surprising that SR2010's only competition is a kid's game.

I was trying to think of some other Canuck games released in the past year that could compete and drew a blank. Bioware & Digital Extremes didn't release anything that I can remember. Relic had The Outfit, but that was console only. Rockstar Toronto had The Warriors, but that looked like crap (misplaced nostalgia + beat em up = please no). Uh, what else? One of those Splinter Cell games? One of EA's sports games?

Hey look, they won. Those Doodlebops will never mess with them again.
