Yo, questions -

Money - is money valuable in the game? Can you have too much of it? Can you purchase anything you could want over the course of the game without having a good score in Trading? Can you do interesting things with money other than buying bigger swords? In the Merchant quests thread I saw that you'd win 100 imperials if you completed the quest in the best way available, nothing if you didn't. Do I care about 100 imperials?

I remember this event in NWN2, you'd get mugged for 10 fat coins. "gimme ur moneys!" They said. That's great boyo, except that I have 200Ks in my pouch so this is more like being begged at than mugged, really.

Balance is something that most RPGs ignore / can't manage, but it really can make a game more rewarding. I remember in Gothic 2 with expansion, I had to find and sell every scrap of whatever I could lay my hands on just to afford the best armor in the game. That was pretty cool.

Speaking of armor - will it be rare? Will it make a difference? I know the light/heavy fighter system, but how much tougher can I expect to be (as a heavy fighter) if I have a lorica segmentata compared to some shit low quality chain mail?

Will combat be hard at all? Can the toughest character expect to take on armies alone? Should I expect that killing is just another fall-back on option if my persuasion check fails? If some bozo does ask me to "give him my moneys", could I actually want to consider the option?

While I'm at it - is there a difficulty slider? If so, what does it affect? There was talk of an ironman mode, is it in?

thx dude

Yes.

Hopefully not.

No.

Yes.

Depends on your character and what he does with money.

AoD is similar in this regard. I also dislike when my character carries millions and the only way to spend them is to buy some ridiculously overpriced loot, even though the next dungeon will offer me better shit for free.

Shitty armor isn't rare. Good armor is very rare. The difference is very noticeable.

Will combat be hard at all?
Very hard.

Can the toughest character expect to take on armies alone?
No. A good fighter can handle 2-3 people, but it won't be easy. 5 is very, very challenging. 7 is a suicide mission.

Yes. Think early Gothic "levels". A lot of people can and will beat the shit out of you, so sometimes paying and doing what you're told is a smart decision.

No.

No romance option. Definitely a no-buy argument right there, up there with the lack of exploding arrows.
