Before you all start making fun of me about my Vampire rape I just want to say I am pretty sure I was wasted when doing this section. To be honest I don't even remember what the hell was going on.

What I do know is that I never cast negative plane protection, chaotic commands, or summoned any monsters/creatures to help.

Oh well.

BTW I added this to the Paco death tally because that happened first.

You could've had an Ankheg plate before leaving Athkatla. There's a shell in one of the houses in the upper part of the Bridge, IIRC.

I have SCSII Smarter Vampires installed but I am confident I was piss drunk when I was doing this so I'm not sure why it went so bad.

I'm heading there. I have 2 more outside chapters to post then we will be in the city for awhile.

At the beginning of the update I thought that You may be moving for Firkraag a little too soon, but expected you to reach him without much problem and only die during the boss fight a lot.
It seems that level scaling is pretty aggressive in Your modded version. Ancient vampires vs level 12 party? Wow.
Although, watching the party getting slaughtered was entertaining as always.

Also, my char kicked some major (iron) ass. I'm of course going to ignore that he nearly died in the process.

Consider doing Hear'dalis' quest - Lord Paco could use the Blade Singer Chainmail (or whetever it's called).

Bards only. He'd have to wait for the Aslyferund mail. Also it's probably SCS that spawned the toughest random spawns and gave the vampires additional powers. You can die real fast vs vampires if you do not have protection from level drain, because when the drained levels equal your level it is over.

This part had me gushing with laughter. Well done!

You know, I've often questioned the wisdom of having a furious enough berserker be able to withstand a level nine spell (Imprisonment) just by being angry enough. For some reason though, the barbarian's anger isn't good enough for this task. Very strange design choices here...

The spawn level was only increased one (maybe two) levels with the version of SCSII I have installed. The problem is probably that all the PCs are duel or multi-classed. Not sure though.

Looking back I had I could have cast a combined 2 negative energy protection & chaotic commands for this encounter. As soon as our clerics lvl up this is going to be a walk in the park.

Really.

You probably could do with another caster as well. The next best thing to negative energy protection is locking the baddies down with crowd control status effects. I predict in incline when one of the multiclassed untermensch bites the bullet.

Hey!

It's a fact of life, BRO. A casters value is first and foremost measured in the spells (s)he can cast. If you multiclass, you're going to be 1-2 spell levels behind a single-classed caster, meaning you'll be casting fewer spells and the spells you cast won't be nearly as awesome.

Play some IWD. High level mage spells are teh suck!
