Alistair's Nightmare. He is dreaming about lost family.

4361165014_b729a889b4_o.jpg

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: Hey! It's great to see you again. I was just thinking about you... isn't that a marvelous coincidence?

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: This is my sister, Goldanna.

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: These are her children, and there's more about somewhere. We're one big happy family, at long last!

facebron.jpg
Bro: They're demons, you know.

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: Oh, that's what everyone says about their relatives, but I've never been happier.

4361165068_269261b7ff_o.jpg
Goldanna: I'm overjoyed to have my little brother back. I'll never let him out of my sight again!

facebron.jpg
Bro: You live with your sister?

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: There's nothing wrong with living with my sister. I've never had a real family, before.

4361165068_269261b7ff_o.jpg
Goldanna: Well, Alistair, is your friend staying for supper?

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: Sure you'll stay. Goldanna's a great cook. Maybe she'll make her mince pie. You can, can't you?

4361165068_269261b7ff_o.jpg
Goldanna: Of course, dear brother. Anything for you.

facebron.jpg
Bro: She's just a demon in disguise. Don't believe any of this.

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: How can you say that about Goldanna? She's... she's the soul of goodness!

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: You're acting very strangely.

facebron.jpg
Bro: (Persuade) Think about this and how you got here. Think carefully.

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: All right, if it makes you happy. I... it's a little fuzzy, that's strange...

4361165068_269261b7ff_o.jpg
Goldanna: Alistair, come and have some tea.

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: No... wait.... I remember a... tower. The Circle... it was under atttack.... there were demons. That's all I really remember.

facebron.jpg
Bro: That's when we got trapped in the Fade, where we are now.

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: A-are you saying... this is a-a dream? But it's so real...

4361165068_269261b7ff_o.jpg
Goldanna: Of course it's real! Now wash up before supper and I--

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: Something doesn't feel quite right here. I... think I have to go.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Yes, we've wasted enough time here.

4361165122_04ba5f2667_o.jpg
Goldanna [xtreme demonic voice]: No! He is ours, and I'd rather see him dead than free!

Fast and easy fight.

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: G-Goldanna? I can't believe it. How did I not see this earlier?

facebron.jpg
Bro: I don't know. Maybe you're just not that intelligent.

facealistair.jpg
4360556117_c4b6959b10_o.gif

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: Yes... uh, well. Try not to tell everyone how easily fooled I was.

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: Are we going now? Wait, where are you going? What's happening to me? Hey!

He disappears

To the next one.

Morrigan's Nightmare. She's arguing with mommy.

4360423663_36a0df7dc4_o.jpg

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: Away! Away with you! I shall have no more of your pestering!

faceflemeth.jpg
Flemeth: I am your mother... do you not love me?

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: You are as much my mother as my little finger, right here, is the queen of Ferelden. I know you, fade spirit, you cannot fool me.

faceflemeth.jpg
Flemeth: Are you more clever than your own dear mother? Surely such pride must be punished!

:Bitchslap:

4361166264_a7a6d1d47f_o.jpg

faceflemeth.jpg
Flemeth: There! That is for not showing respect!

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: That is far more like it, but it is too little too late, spirit.

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: 'Tis you at last! Come and rid me of this vexatious spirit! I weary of being prodded!

facebron.jpg
Bro: All right, I'm coming.

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: Good, kill it, and then we can be off.

4361166518_632299c880_o.jpg

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: 'Tis about time! That was most--

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: Wait! What is this? No, not this again! I refuse!

She disappears

Now it's time to visit our dear buttfriend.

4361167230_be66c3bd42_o.jpg
Cruel Torturer: Maybe. We'll make you scream yet, apprentice.

4360424887_82b8036a85_o.jpg
Crude Torturer: We're not going to go easy on you, trust me.

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: (Groans) No... I wouldn't... want you to hold back. I'd be disappointed if you... did.

4360424887_82b8036a85_o.jpg
Crude Torturer: This one has the spirit. It's a shame we have to break him.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I'll not have you threaten a friend of mine.

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: What... what are you doing here? You're not supposed to be... here...

facebron.jpg
Bro: Snap it out. This is a dream.

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: I can't... I need to stay strong. This is my test. I am going to be a Crow... I need to show them I can tolerate... pain.

facebron.jpg
Bro: You don't have to. They're demons, can't you see that?

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: What? That cannot be, and yet... you speak the truth? I can feel it. Is this nothing but a bad dream? A bad memory?

4361167230_be66c3bd42_o.jpg
Cruel Torturer: Oh, I think he's questioning is. That's a very, very bad thing to do, isn't it?

4360424887_82b8036a85_o.jpg
Crude Torturer: Yes, it is. Yes... he will be punished for that. Severely punished.

4360505619_d73691fda6_o.jpg

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: Well! That was bracing! There's nothing like a good racking, is there?

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: Hmm? What are you doing? Where are you going?

He disappears.

We are getting close.

Sloth Demon: What do we have here? A rebellious minion? An escaped slave? (Laughs) My, my... but you do have some gall.

4360506195_22fc1c1a54_o.jpg
Sloth Demon: But playtime is over. You all have to go back now.

Bro's companions appear.

4360506367_24a0dc5398_o.jpg

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: Oh, here I am! And there you are! You just disappeared. Well, no matter!

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: How did I get here? What happened to all those luscious wood nymphs?

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: You made a dangerous enemy, demon, by toying with my mind.

4360506195_22fc1c1a54_o.jpg
Sloth Demon: If you go back quietly, I'll do better this time. I'll make you much happier.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I'll make my own happiness, thank you.

4360506195_22fc1c1a54_o.jpg
Sloth Demon: Can't you think about someone other than yourself? I'm hurt, so very, very hurt.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I'll take my chances. I'll do nothing you say.

4360506195_22fc1c1a54_o.jpg
Sloth Demon: You wish to battle me? So be it... you will learn to bow to your betters, mortal!

Fight with Sloth Demon is multi-staged. He has a total of five forms. Each time you defeat one form he will respawn in a different form with full health.

The first form is Ogre.

4361248738_004e18638e_o.jpg

Second form is Rage Demon. Oh, our gay friend has just passed out.

4361249010_e6c696833b_o.jpg

Third form - Abomination. Probably the weakest one.

4360507135_073e19fc41_o.jpg

Fourth - Shade. Not much harder.

4361249500_8485d00a2b_o.jpg

And the final form - Arcane Horror who likes spamming AoE spells. Oh shit, Bro and Morrigan fell a victim of untimely fireball.

4361249738_f399fc4140_o.jpg

But not all is lost - our simple-minded paladin managed to heal wounds using lyrium vein. Will "fool's luck" perk work? Who will prevail?

4361249930_6d968e0cbd_o.jpg

Through the successful use of special attacks Mr. Bastard managed to render foe defenseless. Blood and thunder, victory at sea! See, even people with special tags can do something worthy. :smug:

Mage Niall congratulates us.

4361250412_b13143e6d1_o.jpg

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: You defeated the demon. I never thought... I never expected you to free yourself, to free us both.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: When you return... take the Litany of Adralla from my... body. It will protect you from the worse of the blood magic.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Aren't you coming to help?

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: I cannot go with you. I have been here far too long.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: For you it will have been an afternoon's nap. Your body won't have wasted away in the real world while your spirit lay in the hands of a demon.

facebron.jpg
Bro: What are you babbling about?

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: Every minute I was here, the sloth demon was feeding off me, using my life to fuel the nightmares of this realm. There is so little of me left...

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: I was never meant to save the Circle, or... survive its troubles. I am dying. It is as simple as that.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I should leave quickly then.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: It is time for us both to be on our way. Remember the Litany of Adralla. The Circle is all that matters now.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: Thank you and goodbye... friend.

The Circle Tower, again. Unbelievable, I've managed to slog through this.

4360508559_2fa77dd348_o.jpg

We take the Litany from the corpse, as Niall suggested.

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: This trick again? I know what you are. It won't work. I will stay strong...

facebron.jpg
Bro: What won't work?

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: Enough visions. If anything in you is human... kill me now and stop this game.

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: You broke the others, but I will stay strong, for my sake... for theirs...

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: Filthy blood mages... getting in my head... I will not break... I'd rather die.

facebron.jpg
Bro: You're not going to die, not if I can help it.

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: Silence... I'll not listen to anything you say. Now begone!

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: Still here? But that's always worked before. I close my eyes, but you are still here when I open them.

facebron.jpg
Bro: You are pretty dense, aren't you?

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: Don't blame me for being cautious. The voices... the images... so real...

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: Did Greagoir send you? How... how did you get here?

facebron.jpg
Bro: I'm here to cleanse the Circle.

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: Good... kill Uldred. Kill them all for what they've done.

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: They caged us like animals... looked for ways to break us. I'm the only one left...

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: They turned some into... monsters. And... there was nothing I could do.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Be thankful it wasn't you.

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: Don't think I'm not grateful... but why should I live when my friends lie dead, their bodies and spirits broken?

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: To think I once felt pity for the Circle. Now I'd like nothing more than to wipe their taint off face of Thedas.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Mages are dangerous, yes.

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: Only mages have that much power at their fingertips. Only mages are so susceptible to the infernal whisperings of the demons.

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: Yes, some fought back... but even they are lost now. Uldred has them.

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: They are in the Harrowing Chamber. The sounds coming out from there... oh, Maker...

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: He's doing something to them, I can feel it. Something terrible...

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: His hatred of mages is so intense... the memory of his friends' deaths is still fresh in his mind.

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: You have to end it, now, before it's too late.

facebron.jpg
Bro: What do you propose we do?

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: To ensure this horror is ended... to guarantee that no abominations or blood mages live, you must kill everyone up there.

Slaughtering everyone does seem like the JERKASS! option, but maybe we could accomplish more evil by sparing them...

Ah, fuck this, let's kill them anyway.

Kill probably makes the most sense for the Broham.

Also, I think the fight with the Sloth Demon is much easier if you appropriately use your forms during the fight, you seem to just be fighting as you throughout.

Also also, if you thought this was a hard-to-get-through slog there's no way you'll make it through the Derp Roads :D

Yes, the golem form in particular makes everything ridiculously easy.

Yeah. Great tank if you have damage dealers in your party, and good damage dealer himself.

However, I think you're "supposed to" adapt your form throughout the fight. Golem makes it easier, but he's not the best form always; for instance, the Ghost form has really good attacks versus the rage demon, and I think burning man works well against the shade but I'm not too sure.

NO MERCY FOR THE MUSGUIDED!

facebron.jpg
Bro: I hate to admit it, but you are possibly right.

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: I am hardly the person to lecture on the worthier points of human nature, but surely this is a fine time to display the oft-lauded virtue known as mercy?

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: I deserved to die, and you spared me. Why are you so quick to condemn these mages?

facebron.jpg
Bro: You saying I made a mistake sparing you?

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: (Chuckles) Perhaps. But you did it nevertheless, no?

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: I've taken the lives of many throughout my career, but this is no measured act. There is no chase, no hunt, no dignity in this... there is only slaughter.

facebron.jpg
Bro: (Persuade) What about the people they might slaughter?

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: I've thought about it, but... ah, I don't know why I'm so concerned about this to begin with.

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: Do as you like. Certainly the notions of morality brought up by a professional assassin are dubious at best, yes?

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: You do realize the fool is deranged, yes? His mind has been twisted by hatred and jealousy.

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: Still, it has led you to decide that this ridiculous Circle is to be destroyed, so who am I to complain?

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: You understand what you must do. I would help, but as you can see, I am in no position to do anything.

facebron.jpg
Bro: We will come back for you after we deal with Uldred.

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: My cage is Uldred's doing... or one of his mages. Once they're dead, I will be free.

facebron.jpg
Bro: It's unfortunate that so many have to die for his mistakes.

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: Sometimes terrible things must be done to protect the greater good.

4361252660_96f8c7e4e1_o.jpg
Cullen: I wish you luck. May the Maker turn his gaze on you.

Harrowing Chamber

Some sort of supernatural shock therapy is performed here.

4369851822_4b0141898a_o.jpg

4369103857_34ddf4f3ce_o.jpg

First Enchanter Irving and several other mages sit on the floor tied up.

4369852128_3bcc6258d9_o.jpg

That's the bad guy, Uldred.

4369852262_22e413dbae_o.jpg

4369104353_cd06fa8d57_o.jpg

4369862638_2554237c45_o.jpg
Uldred: Do you accept the gift that I offer?

His victim nods.

4369104461_736bcfca18_o.jpg

Moar electrocuting and the new abomination is born. Meanwhile Irving unsuccessfully tries to break free.

4369852640_390e4d1394_o.jpg

4369852812_746fac83f7_o.jpg

4369104907_b9cae4715f_o.jpg

Bro finally appears.

4369862638_2554237c45_o.jpg
Uldred: Ah... look what we have here. An intruder. I bid you welcome. Care to join in our... revels?

facebron.jpg
Bro: I think I'll just kill you, if that's all right with you.

4369862638_2554237c45_o.jpg
Uldred: Fight, if you must. I will just make my victory all the sweeter.

At last, proper dialogue after all that obnoxious shit. Uldred takes his true form - Pride Demon. Think ogre with good spellcasting abilities.

4372050551_f995f497e8_o.jpg

From time to time he'll try to convert more mages into abominations (note the violet circles). Litany of Adralla can interrupt this process. However, Bro will NOT use it.

Overall it's a pretty interesting encounter. Uldred feels strong but hardly overpowered - he doesn't have "I-instawin" strikes like some bosses in DA.

4372802826_4b5bf3acc3_o.jpg

4372802984_b7dce551cb_o.jpg

He'll continue to make new abominations but they are hardly strong adversaries.

4372051125_d7b78c9c8e_o.jpg

4372051351_7878930ff5_o.jpg

It's coming to an end. Irving is getting converted. One thing I don't understand - if spawning abomination is such a fast process wtf was Uldred doing for so long? :?

4372051529_3e1496da42_o.jpg

Sayonara, suxx0rs.

4372051735_ec97ab16a0_o.jpg

Cullen suddenly appears.

4372803854_da60e5a996_o.jpg

4373556773_e698b82586_o.jpg
Cullen: You did it... I feel almost sorry for them, but it had to be done.

4373556773_e698b82586_o.jpg
Cullen: Thank you. The templars will forever be in you debt.

facebron.jpg
Bro: What are you doing up here?

4373556773_e698b82586_o.jpg
Cullen: When Uldred dies, the magic confining me dissipated. I wanted to make sure things were all right.

4373556773_e698b82586_o.jpg
Cullen: We will have to start over, but there will always be mages, and the Circle will always be needed.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I should tell Greagoir that it's over.

4373556773_e698b82586_o.jpg
Cullen: Follow me, then.

Cut

4372804002_1c3bdd3b46_o.jpg

4373565295_8728e146bb_o.jpg
Knight-Commander Greagoir: You said you have proof. Where is it? I will not risk leaving the doors open.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I have killed Uldred, the mage responsible for all of this.

4373556773_e698b82586_o.jpg
Cullen: Accept my word as proof, ser. All the mages are dead. We no longer have to fear their dark powers.

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: And so the great Circle of the Magi falls... for now. Mages are not so easily controlled, it appears.

4373565295_8728e146bb_o.jpg
Knight-Commander Greagoir: Your companion speaks with great wisdom. The same thought crosses my mind often.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Oh, yes. She's very wise.

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: Why, thank you.

4373565295_8728e146bb_o.jpg
Knight-Commander Greagoir: We will form the Circle anews, upon the remains of the old. And we will not make the same mistakes twice.

4373565295_8728e146bb_o.jpg
Knight-Commander Greagoir: I am grateful for what you have done, and I did give you my word that we would aid you in your battle against the darkspawn.

4373565295_8728e146bb_o.jpg
Knight-Commander Greagoir: I intend to honor my promise to you.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Then my trip here was not entirely wasted.

4373565295_8728e146bb_o.jpg
Knight-Commander Greagoir: Once we have secured the tower, my men and I will make our way to battle.

4373565295_8728e146bb_o.jpg
Knight-Commander Greagoir: After all, we still have not heard from Denerim, and the Darkspawn threaten all of Ferelden. It falls to me to decide what we must do.

4373565295_8728e146bb_o.jpg
Knight-Commander Greagoir: The templars, out of duty and gratitude, will stand with the Grey Wardens.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I expect you to be there when the time comes.

4373565295_8728e146bb_o.jpg
Knight-Commander Greagoir: You must excuse me. There are loose ends to be tied up, and the Chantry must be informed that the situation here is under control.

4373565295_8728e146bb_o.jpg
Knight-Commander Greagoir: We will meet again soon. Till then, may the Maker watch over you.

Morrigan approves +12

Time to sell the junk I've collected.

4373565335_3c6d38cdcb_o.jpg
Quartermaster: You really killed all those abominations. I didn't think it was possible. I thought we'd all die here.

4373565335_3c6d38cdcb_o.jpg
Quartermaster: I'm sure you need supplies after that. Don't you?

facebron.jpg
Bro: All right, let's trade.

Now Bro's going to complete Tower quests. Running into emo trigger in the corridor.

4373670487_2abbfda349_o.jpg

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: That is rather wily of you, Zevran.

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: What is so wily of me, oh magical temptress?

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: Getting in the good graces of the one who decides whether you live or die, not to mention the one who can protect you against your former comrades.

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: And I am supposed to believe you are here out of... a sense of patriotism, perhaps?

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: (Scoffs) Hardly that.

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: We all have our reasons for doing what we do. Mine happen to come with a set of strong hands.

LOL, templars in full plate are mopping up floor.

Now - "Summoning Sciences"

4373671019_41584b388b_o.jpg

You'll just have to strictly follow exercises described in the journal and click on mentioned objects, no creativity involved.

4374425850_b162437f40_o.jpg

4374426104_0547e3b208_o.jpg

First exercise - spirit hog is summoned who instantly dies.

4373671781_d6fe3333c8_o.jpg

Second exercise - evil creature called "Trickster Whim". You'll deal with him later during "random" encounter.

4373672051_74c81e111c_o.jpg

And the third and final exercise - creature called "Fade Rifter" appears.

4373672299_eef9ae4607_o.jpg

Watchguard of the Reaching quest. You'll have to click on the statues in specific order to complete it.

Great Hall on the third floor. Correct order - statue with a bowl

4373672541_8bac0af792_o.jpg

statue holding a sword pointing up.

4373672785_be5c7ceeed_o.jpg

statue holding a sword pointing down

and a statue with a shield located near the stairs to the top.

4373673389_25cf2fe6c4_o.jpg

To see the effects you'll have to return to the first floor. Clicking on this door summons monster Shah Wyrd.

4374428128_c6ac3f327a_o.jpg

4373673821_0fc5e05442_o.jpg

It drops good anti-dragon two-handed sword called Yusaris. With everything completed we are heading to the gates only to be interrupted by another emo trigger.

4374428690_deec6c26a2_o.jpg

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: So are you a very religious man, Alistair? I am curious. I believe I heard you say you were raised in an abbey?

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: I was raised in a castle. I was schooled in the abbey. As far as being religious... I don't know. Not especially. What about you? Not in your line of work, I expect.

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: Why do you say that? I happen to be quite devoted, in my way, as most Antivans are.

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: Truly? But you kill people. For money.

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: And I ask forgiveness for my sins from the Maker every chance I get. What manner of monster do you think I am?

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: But... you ask forgiveness and then you go right on with your sinning?

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: The Maker has never objected. Why should you?

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: I... have no idea.

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: Well there you go. Perhaps you ought to think about asking for a little forgiveness yourself, hm?

Funny one.

So did the decision to kill 'em cost you any favor points with your followers? I sometimes find their reactions hard to gage. Morrigan's a friggin' psychopath, what the heck does she care?

Anyway, good stuff!

You didn't complete Summoning Sciences. There's a part 4, but coptnray to what you think, it's not obvious.

Morrigan isn't a psychopath. There's a logical reason for her reaction at the tower. If youm don't undersatnd it, you obviously know nothing about the character.

She's a wildly inconsistent terribly-written character, if that's what you mean by "logical reason".

Volourn said:
Roofles bullshit, why do you lie? Morrigan is BioWares best follower ever.

Oh really? I remember quite specifically that she a) hates the circle and b) was raised killing people for fun, as a game. Does she have a reason to distrust templars? Yes, but she doesn't say that. Hell, in other portions of the game, if you're off killing people for no good reason, Morrigan - like Shale - is usually all "lulz good fun!" about it. So, inconsistent much?

Volourn said:
FFS i cant believe how ignorant you are

Ok, so explain it to me.

Morrigan reminded me of teenagers on internet forums. You know, the kind that tries to earn cool points by showing how jaded and cynical and cold they are, and actually believes that the nihilist platitudes they spit out are actually original and thought-provoking philosophy.

Of c such people rarely have the intelligence to form a coherent worldview, which is why Morrigan ended up as such a poorly constructed character.

Bro's going to hand over Black Grimoire to Morrigan.

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: What? You found Flemeth's grimoire?

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: Ever since we discovered the condition of the mage's tower, I had wondered if it might be recoverable... but I had yet to speak of it to you. How fortunate that you found it on your own.

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: You have my thanks. I will begin study of tome immediately.

facebron.jpg
Bro: What? Don't I even get a kiss?

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: I suppose something is deserved for all your efforts, is it not?

4381976678_73a7f61ed0_o.jpg

Alas, not that something. In related news Better Sex Cutscenes WIP doesn't support hot dwarf action. Fucking bigots :x

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: I do not intend to squander this opportunity to learn more than Flemeth wished me to know. This should be... interesting.

Morrigan approves +9.

Furries await.

4381219375_12c56e39ed_o.jpg
Beyha Joam: Ah, a fellow traveler of the fair lands. Are you a seeker, perchance? My packs are light, but I have a tome of strange origin: The Deus vi Eternus!

4381219375_12c56e39ed_o.jpg
Beyha Joam: Rumored to be the last message to a sinful world from the Maker Himself.

facebron.jpg
Bro: You're a forger and liar!

4381219375_12c56e39ed_o.jpg
Beyha Joam: Those accusations are baseless, groundless, heinous, unsupportable, insubstantial... disregardable... Oh, forget it.

Beyha Joam: Get them!

4381220001_a8b0e5fe0b_o.jpg
Mithra: Stop right there, outsider. The Dalish have camped in this spot. I suggest you go elsewhere, and quickly.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I don't take kindly to threats.

4381220001_a8b0e5fe0b_o.jpg
Mithra: I am not threatening you; I am warning you. We have always defended ourselves, when necessary.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I could kill you without thinking about it.

4381220001_a8b0e5fe0b_o.jpg
Mithra: We Dalish are masterful archers. Imagine how dangerous an arrow might be if it pierced your heart, or your eye.

4381220001_a8b0e5fe0b_o.jpg
Mithra: But again, we feel no urge to harm you. We merely protect our own from dangerous outsiders such as yourself. Move on and there will be no need for either of us to fight.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I have business with your people.

4381220001_a8b0e5fe0b_o.jpg
Mithra: I find that hard to believe. What business could we Dalish possibly have with a group like yours?

facebron.jpg
Bro: (Persuade) I will tell that to your leader, and no one else.

4381220001_a8b0e5fe0b_o.jpg
Mithra: Seeing as you are obviously no simple trespasser, I will leave it to the keeper to decide the importance of your business.

4381220001_a8b0e5fe0b_o.jpg
Mithra: In the camp, I suggest you keep your hands to yourself and remember that our arrows are still trained on you. Follow me.

And Bro followed.

4381220077_981e542717_o.jpg

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: Hmm. I see we have guests.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: Who are these strangers, Mithra? I have precious little patience and less time to spend on outsiders today.

4381220001_a8b0e5fe0b_o.jpg
Mithra: I understand, but this one claims to have important business with our people.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: I see. Tell me, stranger, what business could you possibly have with us? We have our own issues we must deal with, as you can see.

facebron.jpg
Bro: You'll listen to what I have to say until I'm finished, elf.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: That is your business? To threaten us? Answer the question or you'll quickly find out exactly how hollow your threats are.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I came to recruit the aid of the Dalish.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: And who are you to request our aid for anything? We owe service to no one.

facebron.jpg
Bro: You do indeed owe service: to me.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: Hmm, a Grey Warden then. I suspected as much.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: You might have simply said so to begin with. Ma serannas, Mithra, you may return to your post.

4381220001_a8b0e5fe0b_o.jpg
Mithra: Ma nuvenin, Keeper.

She leaves

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: Now, allow me to introduce myself. I am Zathrian, the keeper of this clan, its guide and preserver of our ancient lore. And you are?

facebron.jpg
Bro: Call me Bro.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: If you came to bring news of the Blight in the south, it is not needed. I had already sensed its corruption.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: I would have taken the clan north by now, had we ability to move. Sadly, as you can see, we do not.

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: Yes, it seems like you have had your own troubles. What are the odds?

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: I imagine you are here regarding the treaty we signed centuries ago. Unfortunately, we may not be able to live up to the promise we made.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: This will require some... explanation. Please follow me.

Zathrian shows the camp.

4381977822_55a8e18b5e_o.jpg

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: The clan came to the Brecilian Forest one month ago, as is our custom when we enter this part of Ferelden.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: We are always wary of the dangers in the forest, but we did not expect the werewolves would be lying in wait for us.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: They... ambushed us, and though we drove the beasts back, much damage was done. Many of our warriors lie dying as we speak.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Surely you must have some warriors to spare.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: Not enough to make a difference for you and not simultaneously leave us defenseless.

facebron.jpg
Bro: There are actual werewolves in the forest?

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: There was a time in Ferelden's history when werebeasts roamed the lands in great numbers. Spirits possessed animals and turned them into horrific monsters.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: The humans warred against and destroyed these creatures. No doubt their tales of those days grow ever more inaccurate.

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: Flemeth tells tales of such a time. Packs of possessed wolves, akin to abominations, roaming the land. It was a terrible age now long past.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: The werebeasts are not all gone from this land, and the ones that stalk the Brecilian Forest are proof of this.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Why did these beasts attack you?

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: They are savage and unrelenting; they need no reason to attack anyone. What is curious, however, is the ambush.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: We expect werewolves to be no more cunning than a rabid wolf. The ambush suggests a level of intelligence we've never seen before.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Maybe they aren't as unintelligent as you think.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: I doubt that. The very curse that is in their blood fills them with an unreasoning rage that precludes any true thought.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Is there no way to help your men?

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: The affliction is a curse that runs rampant in their blood, bringing great agony and then ultimately either death or a transformation into something monstrous.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: The only thing that could help them must come from the source of the curse itself, and that... that would be not trivial task to retrieve.

facebron.jpg
Bro: But you're going to ask me to get it anyhow, right?

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: I would not ask such a thing of anyone. You asked, did you not?

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: Within the Brecilian Forest swells a great wolf -- we call him Witherfang. It was within him that the curse originated, and through his blood that it has been spread.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: If he is killed and his heart brought to me, perhaps I could destroy the curse, but this task has proven too dangerous for us.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: I sent some hunters into the forest a week ago, but they have not returned. I cannot risk any more of my clan.

facebron.jpg
Bro: If I help you, what will you give me?

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: We would assist with the Blight, of course. And you would have our gratitude...

facebron.jpg
Bro: I would prefer a more substantial reward.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: A reward, is it? Very well. We have very little of the coin your people use, but we do craft items they find valuable.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: Return with the heart and I will give you something extra that I'm sure you will have no trouble selling. Good enough?

facebron.jpg
Bro: Your people could improve their attitude towards me.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: This attitude has been burned into our souls after long years of slavery and oppression. It is not... personal.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: But... (sigh) very well. I will... remind my people of the danger you will undertake on our behalf.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I'll find this Witherfang for you.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: I must warn you that more than werewolves lurk in the Brecilian Forest. It has a history full of carnage and murder, you see.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: Where there is so much death, the Veil separating the spirit realm from our own becomes thin, allowing spirits to possess things living or dead.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: But if you can indeed help... then I wish you luck.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I need some equipment.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: Then I suggest you see Master Varathorn. I will instruct him to put aside some supplies for you, the kind that the hunters use.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I should go.

4381220093_2696130391_o.jpg
Zathrian: I must return to caring for my people. Creators' speed on your way.

It may be wise to stock up now considering what's going to happen.

4381999238_242988ef7f_o.jpg

4383598558_455baac0a4_o.jpg
Varathorn: What are you doing? You've warped the wood completely? Did you leave it out in the rain?

4383598524_bf50104716_o.jpg
Dalish Apprentice: No, Master Varathorn, I... I think I just used too much heat...

4383598558_455baac0a4_o.jpg
Varathorn: You're not smelting ore like a durgen'len! This is living wood! It requires patience and delicate hands, not more heat!

4383598524_bf50104716_o.jpg
Dalish Apprentice: My actions bring me sorrow, Master Varathorn.

4383598558_455baac0a4_o.jpg
Varathorn: And so they should. Truly the art will be lost to us forever at this rate! Throw away your dead wood and start anew, and I shall speak to our guest.

4383598558_455baac0a4_o.jpg
Varathorn: Now, then. Please forgive my distraction, stranger. Is there something that you need?

facebron.jpg
Bro: I was told you could supply me with equipment.

4383598558_455baac0a4_o.jpg
Varathorn: Yes, yes, the keeper sent word that you might ask me for such. I took the liberty of assembling some goods that our hunters use.

4383598558_455baac0a4_o.jpg
Varathorn: There is a large chest by the aravel where I put everything we could spare. Feel free to sort through it and take whatever you need.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Is there any other equipment you could spare?

4383598558_455baac0a4_o.jpg
Varathorn: I have nothing left that the clan could spare, but... we do have goods that we were going to bring to the shemlen villages to barter with.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I would like to barter with you.

4383598558_455baac0a4_o.jpg
Varathorn: I am not merchant, but let us trade. Perhaps there is something here which will be of value to you.

4381241599_0889b8b526_o.jpg

As expected those free "supplies" are shit. As for camp sidequests - fuck them. It won't matter soon anyway. Bro looted all chests and went deeper into the forest.

4382000954_fbb6434856_o.jpg
Swiftrunner: The Dalish send a dwarf, of all things, to put is in our place. They send a dwarf to make us pay for our attack.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I am no servant of the Dalish.

4382000954_fbb6434856_o.jpg
Swiftrunner: Do you take us for fools? Hrrr. We know you come from their camp outside the forest. No doubt the old keeper himself sent you.

4382000954_fbb6434856_o.jpg
Swiftrunner: You speak to Swiftrunner. I lead my cursed brothers and sisters. Hrrrrr. Turn back now, go back to the Dalish and tell them that you have failed.

4382000954_fbb6434856_o.jpg
Swiftrunner: Hrrr. Tell them we will gladly watch them suffer the same curse we have suffered for too long. We will watch them pay!

Swiftrunner: Hrrr. Very well. I will not risk throwing my people at you like unthinking brutes.

4382000954_fbb6434856_o.jpg
Swiftrunner: Come, brothers and sisters, let us retreat. The forest has eyes of its own, and it will deal with intruders as it always has.

Great bear - great ass.

4385518663_4def951141_o.jpg

Most of the werewolves in the forest won't parley with you and just attack on sight.

4385518863_860e82bd19_o.jpg

A wounded hunter lies near the river. Let us end his suffering.

4386282942_f5317978ce_o.jpg

4386282966_e95080eb5d_o.jpg
Deygan: What? Who... wh-who comes?

facebron.jpg
Bro: I ask the questions here. Who are you?

4386282966_e95080eb5d_o.jpg
Deygan: We were sent to find Witherfang... bring his heart... attacked.. I-- (He falls unconscious).

Bro: (Check the hunter's equipment.)

The hunter's armor has been all but ripped to shreds. His bow is missing, but he still possesses a blood-encrusted blade and most of his arrows.

The hunter also still possesses his boots as well as a belt pouch with various small personal items in it, including a small figurine carved from bone.

Bro: (Loot his equipment.)

You divest the body of all its undamaged equipement.

Bro: (Kill him while he is unconscious.)

There is no resistance as you cover the hunter's mouth and nose. Within a few moments, he is dead.

4385519189_20d13cdea9_o.jpg

Bro: (Leave the body where it is.)

Don't you worry - generic evil dudes are here too.

4385519395_85cdf0843e_o.jpg

Overly long extreme fatalities quickly get old considering that timing is critical at higher difficulty levels.

4386283504_9a15d49e5c_o.jpg

Yep, walking trees are in too.

4385519799_e726a3aaa5_o.jpg

One of mystic places of power you need to click on.

4386283888_72f17e10e7_o.jpg

And a grave almost at the same spot. It's useless, for now.

4386284116_2c68d01b7f_o.jpg

Gravestone: (You see a tombstone before you. It gives you an uneasy feeling.)

Bro: (Leave the tombstone alone.)

Werewolves just don't get it.

4385520459_de6b8c3d49_o.jpg

There is a grove nearby full of walking trees with sleeping Grand Oak in the midddle.

4386441798_58c1bf674f_o.jpg
Grand Oak: Hrrrrm... what manner of beast be thee that comes before this elder tree?

4386441758_39af663f35_o.jpg

Wow, it's HUGE.

facebron.jpg
Bro: (Persuade) Can't you see me? I am a werewolf.

4386441798_58c1bf674f_o.jpg
Grand Oak: Hrrrm. A were, thou say'st? How can this be? I sense no curse inside of thee. Could it be instead a lie? There is no need. Why even try?

facebron.jpg
Bro: This forest is full of dangers; that's why.

4386441798_58c1bf674f_o.jpg
Grand Oak: It is true, thou seest it clear. There are beasts and thieves a-plenty here.

4386441798_58c1bf674f_o.jpg
Grand Oak: Allow me a moment to welcome thee. I am called the Grand Oak, sometimes the Elder Tree.

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: It... rhymes? 'Tis a rhyming tree. One can only imagine what manner of spirit is involved here.

4386441798_58c1bf674f_o.jpg
Grand Oak: And unless thou thinkst it far too soon, might I ask of thee a boon?

facebron.jpg
Bro: What's this boon you mentioned?

4386441798_58c1bf674f_o.jpg
Grand Oak: I have but one desire, to solve a matter very dire: as I slept one early morn, a thief did come and steal an acorn.

facebron.jpg
Bro: And you want it back, I take it?

4386441798_58c1bf674f_o.jpg
Grand Oak: All I have is my being, my seed. Without it I am alone indeed. I cannot go and seek it out; yet I shall die if left without.

Did they really expect me to search for fucking acorns?! FFS.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I think it's better if I just kill you. (Attack).

4386441994_db55ecb866_o.jpg

Warm, clean camp in the middle of nowhere with no inhabitants nearby. Not a trap, for sure...

4385677667_6fa6ab412e_o.jpg

4385677871_fc70595734_o.jpg

Abandoned Camp: This campsite appears remarkably intact. The tents and bedrolls are covered with leaves, but are dry and whole.
The fire pit smokes and possesses embers enough to build into a small flame. There are no signs of any inhabitants.

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: How odd. A camp with no campers, complete with fire and warm blankets. Rather inviting, would you not say?

facebron.jpg
Bro: More suspicious than inviting.

You get no hint of danger, though it strikes you as odd that the camp is abandoned. Perhaps searching the camp will give more clues as to its nature.

Firepit: You examine the remains of the fire pit. It has been untended for several hours at most. The embers draw you in, almost hypnotizing you...

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: I'm surprised that fire hasn't burnt out. We should tend it... Is there a stick about? (Yawns) I am tired...

facebron.jpg
Bro: Stay alert. This could be some kind of trap...

The flames emit a sudden warmth, draining your strength even more. You turn away, the chill seeping back into your bones. You are exhausted.

Tent: You look inside the tent and are surprised bu how dry and cozy it feels. It is clean, but empty. What a pleasant place to rest your head...

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: The elven hunters didn't set this up. How strange. And yet it all just seems so... friendly. I want to do nothing but remain.

facebron.jpg
Bro: No, we can't sleep here. We need to go.

It takes all your strength to step back from the tent. A wave of weariness washes through you, despite your efforts to resist it.

Bedroll: You examine the bedroll. It looks clean and warm. You feel like you haven't slept in ages. It would be so nice to curl up and sleep...

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: You know, I feel as if I could sleep for days. Do you feel it? It's... not quite right.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I feel it, too. We need to stay awake.

Bedroll: Unable to resist its strange siren call, you trudge back to the tents and quickly collapse and drift off into a blissful sleep...

4385678027_fd2b124700_o.jpg

Of course demon is involved - in this case Great Shade. One team member will fight him with others lying unconscious. Thankfully, no more Fade sections.

4385678217_42cfd11a6e_o.jpg

Abandoned Camp: With the shade destroyed, the fog seems to lift. The camp that was here is ancient, and the remnants of the shade's victims all lie as if sleeping still.

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: A hungry spirit luring those who pass to their rest... and their doom. One might wonder how it learned the trick. No matter. It shall prey on no one else.

That's how the "camp" really looked like. On the positive side there is a gift in the chest for certain leather fetishist.

4386442994_55442025a4_o.jpg

And that's the tree Bro somehow missed.

4386443192_55e1579783_o.jpg

Bro: You're a forger and liar!

Beyha Joam: Those accusations are baseless, groundless, heinous, unsupportable, insubstantial... disregardable... Of, forget it.

Beyha Joam: Get them!

A completely reasonable reaction. Everybody knows that accusing street vendors of selling fake goods will make them summon a gang of 5-6 people and try to kill you.

You know, seeing the Elf sequence again suddenly makes me realise: why haven't they moved on? They moved into werewolf turf, paid the price, sent out hunters but already concluded they lack the capability to defeat Witherfang, so...cut your losses and go? What the fuck are you doing waiting around for a hero to appear?

Also, the Shade camp sequence actually works on Shale. Wut. He's a golem, game.

Also yay, moar! Curious to see what choices Bro makes, though I guess you're siding with the furries.

Same stuff - annoying wildlife just asking to be eradicated.

Werewolf that doesn't attack. WTF?

4400022710_5b0dcceed1_o.jpg

4399255929_cd2e702440_o.jpg
Danyla: P-please... help... listen... I am not... the mindless beast I appear to be...

facebron.jpg
Bro: You certainly look like a werewolf to me.

4399255929_cd2e702440_o.jpg
Danyla: I was... not always as you see. I have been cursed, turned into this... this creature... It burns in my blood!

4399255929_cd2e702440_o.jpg
Danyla: I... fled into the forest. The werewolves, they... took me in. But I had to return. I had to!

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: Careful. These werewolves might have laid a trap for us, or something. You never know.

4399255929_cd2e702440_o.jpg
Danyla: You are... one of the dwarven folk. I am... was... once an elf, one of the Dalish, until my... change. Do you know of my clan?

facebron.jpg
Bro: You are a Dalish who has already become a werewolf, then?

4399255929_cd2e702440_o.jpg
Danyla: Yes, just scant days ago. So you know what happened to us.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I need you to answer some questions.

4399255929_cd2e702440_o.jpg
Danyla: No, there... is no time. Please, you must listen...

4399255929_cd2e702440_o.jpg
Danyla: My name is Danyla. My husband... he is called Athras. Please, you must... bring him a message.

4399255929_cd2e702440_o.jpg
Danyla: The scarf I wear... bring it to him. Tell him I love him. Tell him... I am dead and with the gods. I beg you...

facebron.jpg
Bro: But you are not dead.

4399255929_cd2e702440_o.jpg
Danyla: I will be... soon enough. I just... want him to be at peace.

4399255929_cd2e702440_o.jpg
Danyla: Ah, the pain! The curse... is fire in my blood! Please! End it for me! End it quickly!

facebron.jpg
Bro: Very well. I will end your pain. (Kill her)

And so the Cutscene Dagger of Instakill pierced her damned heart.

4399256091_0856553329_o.jpg

4399255929_cd2e702440_o.jpg
Danyla: Gods... bless you...

Surprise! Critical strike

4400023184_b42bf15c3b_o.jpg

Fighting with two ogres. They are obviously adepts of the Way of Collar Grabbing.

4400023540_e6ba45199e_o.jpg

But even collar-grabbers are no match for mighty Brofist.

Another gravestone. This one can be activated.

4400024452_5d8322eff8_o.jpg

Gravestone: The air seems unnaturally cold around this ancient tombstone. Runes of warding are carved into the surface.

Bro: (Disturb the wards.)

Revenant and several skeletons rise from the ground. Revenants are nasty fuckers capable of performing "force pull" trick, triple strikes and sporting high magic resistance. This revenant will drop Juggernaut boots, part of the decent heavy armor set scattered through the forest and ruins.

4400065328_d3ac4f91de_o.jpg

4400065534_23379710d8_o.jpg

Moving further along the road Bro stumbles upon obviously mad hermit.

4400065712_10e8680d70_o.jpg

First, Bro will check strange trunk. Considering that we've already killed the Grand Oak it is of no use.

Tree Stump: (There is nothing in the trunk that appears worthy of your time.)

4400065970_9758dc4e99_o.jpg

Now - let's talk.

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Oh dear, oh dear. Not a werewolf and not a spirit, even, what are the woods coming to?

facebron.jpg
Bro: What are you babbling on about?

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Questions, questions, always questions! They say it was questions that made me mad; will it do the same for you?

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Ask a question and you'll get a question, but give an answer and you'll receive the same! Oh, I do so love to trade!

facebron.jpg
Bro: Or I could just kill you.

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: NO! That is not a question! And if it be an answer, it be an answer to a question I've not asked! Have you no sense for the rules?

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: Be cautious. This is no ordinary madman. He has magic... I can sense it. Powerful magic.

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: No fair bringing mages to a guessing game! Will you play by the rules or not?

facebron.jpg
Bro: I think I'd rather just kill you. (Attack)

Magic faggotry! For once Cutscene Dagger of Instakill failed his owner.

4399298955_59b0e2cf78_o.jpg

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Aaah! Ahh! Not fair, not fair! This is completely against the rules!

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: You just watch your manners! I've only so much much blood in this frail body of mine and I intend to keep it there!

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: He does not actually teleport. He uses illusions. Impressive ones, even. When his mind was intact, I suspect this mage was powerful.

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Hah! You hear that?! I intend to keep it there! So no more of your shenanigans!

facebron.jpg
Bro: Do you want me to ask another question?

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: I think it is your turn to ask, is it not?

facebron.jpg
Bro: Who are you?

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Who am I? Why do you want to know? Did they send you? Did they tell you to ask?

facebron.jpg
Bro: That's a lot of questions. You'd better have some answers.

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Ahhh! Damnation! Caught by my own rules!

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Oh, oh, oh! Did they tell you pretend to be an innocent stranger, with a head full of fluff and nothing?

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: I'm trickier than I look! Ha, ha! I survive still, and the trees they leave me be! Ha, ha! I've won! They will never find me! Never!

facebron.jpg
Bro: I found you.

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: So you did! But I'm watching you! If they sent you, I'll know!

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: But that's all I have to say about that. An answer for an answer, there you go!

facebron.jpg
Bro: Do you want to ask me another question?

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: May I? Oh, yes, I think I might!

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Now, let's see. Ah yes, I know! That horrible talking oak... you were the one who killed it, weren't you?

facebron.jpg
Bro: I don't know. Is it worth a reward?

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Hmph. Let me think. There must be something you might be interested in...

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Oh, I know. Have you been to the center of the forest, yet? It's quite the sight. Grand place for a picnic.

facebron.jpg
Bro: No, I don't think so.

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: It's where the wolfmen have their lair, but the trees will block the path.

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: There's a way to fool the trees, of course. Trees are thick, wooden things, after all. Easily fooled if you know how.

facebron.jpg
Bro: And you know how, don't you?

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Since you've already gone and killed that nasty old oak tree -- I saw the splinters and even did a little jig to celebrate -- maybe I'll just tell you.

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: The secret to getting by the trees... and listen close, now... is to make them think you're one of the wolfmen! Tee, hee, hee! Isn't that a grand idea?

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Oh, I know what you're thinking: "I'm short, and my teeth aren't nearly sharp enough for anyone to mistake me as a wolfman!" So true!

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: I have the solution to that! I can make you smell like a wolfman! Enough like one to fool some stupid tree. And you only need to bring me a werewolf skin.

facebron.jpg
Bro: How about you do it now and I don't kill you?

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: That's a terrible thing to say to someone you need to cast a spell on you. I could turn you into a toad? That wouldn't be comfortable.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I have a werewolf skin.

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: So you have, so you have. Nice, too. Are you sure you wouldn't prefer a pair of slippers? No? Well, let's see what I can do with this, then.

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: And here you are... just keep it with you, and the trees will let you into the center of the forest.

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Remember: the trick will fool trees, but not anyone with a pair of eyes. And don't lose it... I might not remember that spell a second time.

4400066014_ce43c1cc68_o.jpg
Hermit: Anyhow, that's it! That's all there is! Off you go! Have fun with the wolfmen!

More trees to chop

4399299215_080a4527f3_o.jpg

And now we are going back to the western part of the forest to collect the second piece of armor. In seems that werewolves were respawningi n the meantime.

4400066764_13224555ff_o.jpg

4400066974_c44d931eba_o.jpg

And here's a gravestone - fully accessible now.

4400067214_3ab19c7294_o.jpg

Gravestone: (This is the tombstone of a Tevinter general. The epitaph makes it clear that his spirit was left to guard over something.)

Bro: (Disturb the tombstone.)

This the most challenging of all "gravestone" fights. Revenant's escort is stronger and includes mage.

4400067468_febebe402e_o.jpg

4400103974_5cc627a7b7_o.jpg

Revenant is the least of our worries as Ogre Alpha is stomping the shit out of everybody.

4400104212_5c23d1113d_o.jpg

Zevran and Morrigan are down. Alistar is getting grabbed by the collar. Game over?

4400104446_2cecd8d8e0_o.jpg

Fuck no, as mighty Bro performs powerful strike, freeing Alistair from ogre's clutches.

4399337493_8810679608_o.jpg

Reward is a Juggernaut Helm from revenant's body. After grabbing it, Bro cleansed that part of the forest from remaining darkspawn.

4400104950_b2d7243f74_o.jpg

East Brecilian Forest. "Impenetrable" barrier is just a small foggy area.

4400105154_51e21539c5_o.jpg

Oh, you again.

4399338261_cd48c5a9a8_o.jpg

4382000954_fbb6434856_o.jpg
Swiftrunner: The forest has not been vigilant enough. Still you come.

4382000954_fbb6434856_o.jpg
Swiftrunner: You are stronger than we could have anticipated. The Dalish chose well. But you do not belong here, outsider. Leave this place!

4399338517_b3555394f1_o.jpg

This coward doesn't have furry balls big enough to face me alone.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I'm not going anywhere without Witherfang's heart.

4382000954_fbb6434856_o.jpg
Swiftrunner: Hrrr. You are sent by the treacherous Dalish to kill Witherfang! I will not stand by and allow that to happen!

facebron.jpg
Bro: Then come and fight or get out of my way!

4382000954_fbb6434856_o.jpg
Swiftrunner: (Howls) Then we fight! With our blood and our very lives we will defend our home!

4400106172_ba6f21784e_o.jpg

When Swiftrunner is on a brink of collapse giant white wolf appears and knocks Bro down.

4399339105_7f7490eb71_o.jpg

Furries run away tails ablaze.

Last gravestone in the forest area.

4400106666_4eb704465a_o.jpg

Gravestone: (Familiar warding runes are carved into this tombstone.)

Bro: (Disturb the wards.)

This fight with Revenant and co. is a walk in a park compared to previous one. Bro acquires Juggernaut gloves from the body.

4400106976_9cd25370e6_o.jpg

4400107228_af677f4860_o.jpg

Another barking cowardly dog with overgrown ego.

4399340169_4b90b1c8cc_o.jpg

4400107520_854cc4aac5_o.jpg
Gatekeeper: We are invaded! Intruders have deceived their way into the forest's heart! Fall back to the ruins! Protect the Lady!

He runs away.

Waitwaitwaitwaitwait ! Is killing someone who ask you to do so really the right... err, the wrong thing to do ? That's a serious philosophical question right here !

Anyway, is it still possible to side with the werewolves or is it too late for that now ?
