Yeah, the summoning quest description tells you to wait, but you can just go ahead and do it the moment you get it.

Watchguard of the Reaching and the apprentice sidequest are both worth doing. I liked the tower, despite it being more or less another dungeon to trudge through.

Oh, this brings me to something I was wondering about. One of the side quests that eventually brings the party to the gate at the bottom of the tower that consequently spawns a bunch of flaming things that end up butchered - is that it? The end of that quest? Just... Kill and loot?

I liked the tower as well, it had some exploration and piecing things together and stuff, but that's also where the game starts going southwards at a good speed. Suddenly we encounter all these side quests from the Collective and whatnot, the ones that have a .txt storyline and a 2-line resolution; suddenly there's all the gianormous amount of slaughtering various (yet still boring) enemies (which starts at Defense of Redcliffe - yay wave-defense, how I missed you from WoW dungeons) and all the other sorts of things that I usually end up doing when I am bored of doing whatever it is I was doing properly up til that moment.

It's like they go, "Hey, we made the start, we made Origins, we made that Veil sequence on top of the tower, fuck this, let's go get drunk". And drunk they got, up til two days to deadline when they just paste in some generic crap to explain why the player gets 5g and 2000XP. I can dig it in WoW, but damn it, even WoW tries to motivate the players better these days than what I'm seeing in DA side-quests. I'd like someone to explain to me how that is possible but I think I'm too afraid to hear that answer.

Watching Bro act like a complete jerkass is fun, but what are the actual advantages of always taking the evil approach ?

You get to avoid boring shit parts of the game like defending Redcliffe.

Yes. But at least you kind of have to act independently in it and the summoning quest, even if the given clues are pretty in-your-face.

Excellent LP, please continue.

It's great to see the evil route, which I failed to follow in my second walkthrough.

Will be interesting to see what Bro does in Orzammar.
Returning as a mage to the Circle didn't have as much flavor as I had hoped, I'm replying now with an elven rogue and the tower was practically the same. But for the dwarf noble origin it is much more personal with Bhelen and all.

Speaking of which, did anyone start with a dalish elf? Anything interesting when you get back to the Dalish camp?

Tranquil mage stopped us.

4292070406_77061d31d9_o.jpg

4291329667_de2f2b365f_o.jpg
Owain: Please, refrain from going into the stockroom. It is a mess and I have not been able to get it into a state fit to be seen.

facebron.jpg
Bro: What are you doing here?

4291329667_de2f2b365f_o.jpg
Owain: I was trying to tidy up, but there was little I could do.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Aren't you afraid of the abominations?

4291329667_de2f2b365f_o.jpg
Owain: Of course. I am defenseless and if I ran into one, I would surely perish.

4291329667_de2f2b365f_o.jpg
Owain: I tried to leave, when things got quiet. That was when I encountered the barrier. Finding no other way out, I returned to work.

4291329667_de2f2b365f_o.jpg
Owain: The stockroom is familiar. I prefer to be here.

facebron.jpg
Bro: How can you be so calm?

4291329667_de2f2b365f_o.jpg
Owain: I am one of the Tranquil. My emotions were taken from me a long time ago. But I know my situation is not ideal.

4291329667_de2f2b365f_o.jpg
Owain: I would prefer not to die. I would prefer it if the tower returned to the way it was. Perhaps Niall will succeed and save us all.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Succeed at what?

4291329667_de2f2b365f_o.jpg
Owain: I do not know, but he came here with several others, and took the Litany of Adralla.

4291329667_de2f2b365f_o.jpg
Owain: The Litany protects a mind from blood magic. This is what I have heard.

facebron.jpg
Bro: What good will that do?

4291329667_de2f2b365f_o.jpg
Owain: Blood magic allows one to dominate the mind and will of another.

4291329667_de2f2b365f_o.jpg
Owain: If Niall wanted the Litany, it stands to reason that he believes it will be needed.

facebron.jpg
Bro: What I am supposed to do now?

4291329667_de2f2b365f_o.jpg
Owain: I do not know.

4291329667_de2f2b365f_o.jpg
Owain: I wish you luck. Perhaps this will be over soon and things will return to the way they were.

4291329667_de2f2b365f_o.jpg
Owain: Goodbye.

A group of blood mages arguing over something.

4291329897_bfc5159cf5_o.jpg

Hurr, no magic - only blood.

4292070934_5ab1298817_o.jpg

But wait, someone is still alive.

4291330279_5c948ff331_o.jpg

4292071158_35232520b7_o.jpg
Blood Mage: Please, please don't kill me.

facebron.jpg
Bro: The people you killed didn't want to die either.

4292071158_35232520b7_o.jpg
Blood Mage: I know I have no right to ask for mercy, but I didn't mean for this death and destruction. We were just trying to free ourselves.

4292071158_35232520b7_o.jpg
Blood Mage: Ulrded told us that the Circle would support Loghain and Loghain would help us be free of the Chantry.

4292071158_35232520b7_o.jpg
Blood Mage: You don't know what it was like. The templars were watching, always watching...

facebron.jpg
Bro: Enough self-pity. You'll die for your crimes.

4292071158_35232520b7_o.jpg
Blood Mage: No... no please!

4291330533_c765320fee_o.jpg

Where is "rape her to death" option??? :x

Someone mentioned apprentice notes. I've already clicked on those on the first floor, just didn't bother to mention it.

4292071556_ff17861e5b_o.jpg

Anyway, the first cache is available. Doesn't contain much, though.

Yet another bucnh of abominations

4292071946_e800350ca8_o.jpg

Dumb zombies just run into a cone of cold.

4292072186_7957d15653_o.jpg

*Yawn* More demons

4294417176_99dbb1b1cc_o.jpg

Haha, a trembling closet. Must contain something interesting inside.

4293676607_5f9d979b2f_o.jpg

4294417636_5078b0648f_o.jpg

Closet: (This closet seems to be trembling slightly. You can hear soft whimpers coming from inside it.)

facebron.jpg
Bro: (Kick the door open.)

4294417664_3396813c10_o.jpg
Godwin: Please, don't hurt me. I'm no one. I'm not important. I just.... don't want to die. Oh, Maker!

facebron.jpg
Bro: Pathetic fool. Why shouldn't I do away with you right now?

4294417664_3396813c10_o.jpg
Godwin: Because... I... I'm this close to wetting myself...

facebron.jpg
Bro: Really? Heh. You're funny.

4294417664_3396813c10_o.jpg
Godwin: W-why's that funny? I was petrified in there. There were demons and then... you.

4294417664_3396813c10_o.jpg
Godwin: Th-thank you... I-I suppose I can breathe easy now.

4294417664_3396813c10_o.jpg
Godwin: Godwin, mage of the Circle of Ferelden, at your service.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Keep your hands where I can see them. I don't trust you.

4294417664_3396813c10_o.jpg
Godwin: What do you think I could do to you? Have you seen you? Or more accurately, have you seen the demons you made short work of?

4294417664_3396813c10_o.jpg
Godwin: You turned them into a thin, slightly sticky, somewhat runny paste that appears to be seeping into the cracks between the stones as we speak.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I'll do the same to you, if you do anything suspicious.

4294417664_3396813c10_o.jpg
Godwin: I just really want to be somewhere safe. I think I might stay here for now. Maybe go back into my closet for a little while.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I've killed most of the demons. You could escape.

4294417664_3396813c10_o.jpg
Godwin: And go where? The templars have locked the door. I'm just going to stay here and see what happens.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Do what you wish. Your life is your own.

4294417664_3396813c10_o.jpg
Godwin: Thank you again, for saving me. May we meet again, in happier, less life-threatening times.

We leave our closet mage to his own business. It's official, bros - magic is for fags and pussies.

Mages fail at summoning. Not that it matters anyway.

4294417920_ab4a463f9e_o.jpg

We cleanse yet another area.

4294418184_a11a77bf13_o.jpg

A toppled statue of Andraste in a hall nearby.

4293677691_879003d4bf_o.jpg

Toppled Statue: (A statue of Andraste lies defiled. There is a small glass phylactery in the base, somehow sealed within the otherwise solid stone carving.)

Toppled Statue: (The area is unnaturally cold. Dark shapes swirl around a slip of paper within the vial.)

Bro: (Take the vial.)

Toppled Statue: (The glass fractures at your touch.)

And the Revenant appears. This thing probably the most annoying opponent in the game.

4293677909_a8edb025ac_o.jpg

It won't go down easily.

4294418872_83b71a69fe_o.jpg

But our bisexual friend delivers a final blow.

4294419104_8f5d840c7a_o.jpg

First Enchanter's office is nearby. No monsters for a change, lots of quest-related items.

4293678695_0b2e7b0938_o.jpg

For example a box in his desk which triggers "friends of Red Jenny" quest

4293729741_fe92ea18cd_o.jpg

First Enchanter's journal detailing the coup.

Or the chest containing the Black Grimoire.

The Circle Tower - Great Hall. This update is about fighting and fighting alone.

4296582744_17f8ece854_o.jpg

Suspiciously empty hall.

4295837617_fce34f3d21_o.jpg

Not empty, really.

4296583188_d714a69c7e_o.jpg

After first small wave comes another, big one, supported by high-ranked arcane horror.

4295838151_2a92f487b7_o.jpg

4295838333_480ce99bf7_o.jpg

The last apprentice note. "Watchguard of the Reaching" quest becomes available.

4295838499_f4f5fa6b14_o.jpg

More fighting with demons in the next hall.

4295838737_e568f7d0b5_o.jpg

A small room. Two possessed templars inside. Joke.

4296584322_a103e4f854_o.jpg

4295839077_fb3e52670b_o.jpg

Torn pages. Click on all of five of them and you'll get a quest.

4296584656_10e99214ee_o.jpg

The next room is empty save for an another torn page.

4295860887_fccc1660db_o.jpg

Desire demon with charmed templars as bodyguards. Luckily all of them line in a single cone...

4295861051_040d3f233c_o.jpg

...so slaying them is piss-easy.

4296606424_01c09aa23e_o.jpg

Empty room and another torn page.

4295861431_6bb47bd5bc_o.jpg

And another room witch a locked chest and the last torn page. Reading them activates "Five Pages, Four Mages" quest (basically yet another "random encounter").

4296606828_812c5713f1_o.jpg

We are getting close to the exit. Of course it's controlled by enemies.

4296606984_df82ac1bc9_o.jpg

But even boss-ranked abomination doesn't pose any real threat.

4295861975_ab67a0581a_o.jpg

Tranquil mage. Alive and useless.

4295862165_5da8c20291_o.jpg

Damn, I feel sorry for you, this looks incredibly tedious and boring, and suposedly it will get even worse...

Try to continue the lp to the end if your will can of course.

Not much left, though. The Fade is kind of a bitch, but then you've "only" got the Elf/Werewolf thing* (which is pretty short) and Orzammar to go.

* Kill the elves. I managed negotiating peace between the werewolves and elves (sort of, though it ended with combat) and thought both would be added to my army. But NO, there werewolves just turned into (fully dressed) humans. No badass werewolves for my army.

I'm proud to finally have got through Orzammar myself. Somehow that place just bores the shit out of me, both the town and the dungeon trudge. And I usually love dwarves.

Boring updates, Twinkle, but that's not on you. There's no way really to make these combat treks amusing, they're just shitty filler combat.

Aren't you doing the summoning quest right now? Seems pointless to return just for it (though you'll probably be returning anyway). Same for watchguard of the reaching. And why not give the grimoire to Morrigan immediately?

Did you skip the "dude charmed by a succubus" dialogue, or is it too early for that? I found it sort of neat, except for the let-down of finding out that no matter what, you end up killing the templar as well as the succubus if you decide to "free" the templar. He could have, well, at least said something before being butchered.

From a previous update:
Guardian: Then you do not dwell on past mistakes -- neither yours, nor someone else's.
That was the exact same thing he said to me as well - and I was a nice guy dwarf that didn't kill Trian. And the Trian conversation turned out to be the same as well. Gotta love BioWare consequences.

BTW, I hated how they presented the trial for the urn. DA was, according to devs, supposed to be a "low magic" setting, but that speaking ghost part even trumps certain moments in BG2, where they at least had a mysterious statue accompanied by a mysterious voice instead of fucking transparent people telling you the riddles.

Hurr, loving and intimate moment

4302039811_bf378b58b0_o.jpg

4302039841_a99da56379_o.jpg
Desire Demon: Everything is just as you wanted, my knight. Our love and our family is more than you hoped for.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I command you to stop what you are doing to this man!

4302040275_6c20e21cd0_o.jpg
Bewitched Templar: Do you hear something, love?

4302039841_a99da56379_o.jpg
Desire Demon: It is nothing, my darling. Just the door. I will get it.

4302039841_a99da56379_o.jpg
Desire Demon: The children have finished supper. Tuck them into bed while I see who it is.

4302040275_6c20e21cd0_o.jpg
Bewitched Templar: Don't be long, the children will want to kiss you goodnight.

4302039841_a99da56379_o.jpg
Desire Demon: I will be but a moment, my pet.

4302040143_f9160efd6d_o.jpg

Boring updates, eh? :smug: Tits are coming.

4302039841_a99da56379_o.jpg
Desire Demon: You are intruding upon a loving, intimate moment and I dislike disruptions.

facebron.jpg
Bro: And I dislike demons. You die, now.

4302040275_6c20e21cd0_o.jpg
Bewitched Templar: What was that?

4302039841_a99da56379_o.jpg
Desire Demon: Help! There are bandits at the door! They are going to murder the children!

4302040275_6c20e21cd0_o.jpg
Bewitched Templar: They will not get past me!

"Loving" couple will be united.

4302790472_fa5337a543_o.jpg

Almost the same stuff in the room nearby, only with blood mage serving as dominatrix.

4302041235_03d303cc9c_o.jpg

What's the point of having so many templars if they lack basic mind control protection?

Door leading to boredom

4302041979_cb7795f708_o.jpg
Sloth Demon: Oh, look. Visitors. I'd entertain you but... too much effort involved.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Good, that will make you much easier to kill.

4302041979_cb7795f708_o.jpg
Sloth Demon: But why? Aren't you tired of all the violence in this world? I know I am.

4302041979_cb7795f708_o.jpg
Sloth Demon: Wouldn't you like to just lay down and... forget about all this? Leave it all behind?

facezevran.jpg
Zevran: What is this? Some ridiculous ploy to get me to let down my guard?

facealistair.jpg
Alistair: Can't... keep my eyes open. Someone... pinch... me.

facemorrigan.jpg
Morrigan: This is ridiculous. You cannot expect me to rest on a floor sticky with blood...

4302041979_cb7795f708_o.jpg
Sloth Demon: Why do you fight? You deserve more... You deserve a rest. The world will go on without you.

Bro awakens in a strange place with vomit-inducing post-processing effect everywhere.

What the--???

4302042563_a9344e091b_o.jpg

faceduncan.jpg
Duncan: Ah, there you are. I'm not disturbing you, am I?

facebron.jpg
Bro: Wait... you should be dead.

faceduncan.jpg
Duncan: Dead? Me? Hah! I have been close many times, but I never quite made it all the way.

faceduncan.jpg
Duncan: I just wanted to make sure you were happy here, in Weisshaupt. These grand halls were built by the first Grey Wardens. Isn't it breathtaking?

facebron.jpg
Bro: No, it is boring.

faceduncan.jpg
Duncan: You are unused to peace, but in time you will grow to love ot. We will need no longer fear the darkspawn.

facebron.jpg
Bro: You speak as though the darkspawn are no longer a problem.

faceduncan.jpg
Duncan: The darkspawn are gone, remember? You were there in that last great battle.

faceduncan.jpg
Duncan: It was a triumph for all of us, bringing down the archdemon and setting the underground lairs ablaze.

facebron.jpg
Bro: That's not possible. You're hiding something from me.

faceduncan.jpg
Duncan: Foolish child. I have given you so much and you cast it back in my face. Can you not be content with the peace I offer?

facebron.jpg
Bro: You offer complacency, not peace.

faceduncan.jpg
Duncan: It seems only war and death will satisfy you. So be it! Have your war and your darkspawn! May they be your doom!

4302792318_9469d00649_o.jpg

Sadly, you couldn't do that to a real Duncan. :( After slaying the "Wardens" Fade pedestal becomes usable.

4303613452_d1c33bc5a3_o.jpg

Think gaining access to the center will be nonlinear? Ha-ha, dream harder.

4302865595_5d67aebc2f_o.jpg

A new place. This mage is supposed to have that anti-mind control thingie.

Niall: Who are you? Where did you come from? Are you a demon?

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: No... I see that you're not. You're like me. Congratulations on getting out of that trap.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Of course I did.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: I thought I'd escaped, too, but I've been wandering these empty, grey spaces for a lifetime.

facebron.jpg
Bro: Are you a mage of the Circle?

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: Yes, I am. My name is Niall.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: I was trying to save the Circle when I encountered the sloth demon. I expect our experiences were similar.

facebron.jpg
Bro: You have the Litany of Adralla, don't you?

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: The Litany was our weapon against the blood mages' domination. But it's too late. Everyone's dead...

facebron.jpg
Bro: Why are there so many blood mages here?

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: I don't know. They must have been practicing in secret, even teaching others. I knew these people, trusted them...

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: The Litany was our only hope of saving the Circle. But now...

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: This place drains you of everything... hope, feeling, life...

facebron.jpg
Bro: We'll find a way out.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: No, there is no way out of here. You think there might be, but you'de be wrong.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: You see that pedestal there? I've studied the runes on it -- runes that signify different islands of the sloth demon's domain.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: The sloth demon itself is on the center island, but you can't get there. The five islands around the center somehow form a protective ward.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: I thought I was getting somewhere when I figured that out, and I went to each island in turn only to have my hopes dashed.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: There is always an obstacle. You'll see the path but be unable to get to it, and it taunts you and drives you mad.

facebron.jpg
Bro: I think I'll go take a look at this pedestal.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: Y-you think you'll find a way out, don't you? You believe that. (Chuckles) Maker... I believed it too. It seems like eons ago...

facebron.jpg
Bro: I'll be back.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: Don't mind me then.

The portal. Where does it lead?

4303613896_49f7240c02_o.jpg

Big bad demon harrassing poor little talking mouse. What a pity.

4302866031_45e2ee321a_o.jpg

4303614032_b224a9b805_o.jpg
Mage Apprentice: Thank you! But... too late for me...

4303614032_b224a9b805_o.jpg
Mage Apprentice: Kill Yevena, the demoness that rules here. She protects her master... Sloth...

4303614032_b224a9b805_o.jpg
Mage Apprentice: There's a door! A door only demons can see... the key must be in another realm...

4303614032_b224a9b805_o.jpg
Mage Apprentice: Take my power... Save any others trapped in nightmares, kill the demons that guard Sloth.

4303614032_b224a9b805_o.jpg
Mage Apprentice: Make my...

The mouse dies and you get his power.

Down the mouse hole.

4302866177_79800c5d9a_o.jpg

Another demon

4303614312_d1f00fb34a_o.jpg

And another portal

4303614440_691bb4386e_o.jpg

Demon door. Inaccessible for now.

4303614576_ffd4f1d4dc_o.jpg

Three weak demons on a way to the top

4302866693_1b08e1d46c_o.jpg

4304544057_84f377922d_o.jpg

4304544275_cecd01a206_o.jpg

Another portal, bringing Bro back to the mage.

4304544437_be49162916_o.jpg

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: Something happened, didn't it? You look a little different. What happened?

facebron.jpg
Bro: I became a mouse.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: Did you? Did it help? I know I saw the tiny holes. Were you small enough to get through?

facebron.jpg
Bro: I thought you'd given up. Why so excited?

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: I... I don't know.

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: You're... so much braver than I am. I was so sure it was impossible to get anywhere...

4302865779_aa59753837_o.jpg
Niall: Do you think you could learn other shapes? Maybe they could help you get to places you couldn't otherwise...

Now Bro can use local Fade pedestal

I think you're being a bit hard on the Fade. It's no Planescape, but it's a sight more creative than the average RPG challenge out there.

I liked it.

In all cases its almost completely linear, its 90% fighting (but what isn't in DA?), and it suffers under a ridiculously overdone blur filter. Its also rather disturbing how you go into the fade all of something like 3 times and yet they still had to recycle some of the same maps.

The demons you encounter there are probably the most interesting things in the game though. Manage to remain above the human conflict for the most part, indulging in their own desires and slowly manipulating humanity.

Fade - Darkspawn invasion

4311130012_1e9a374201_o.jpg

Bro uses a mouse hole to the right.

4311130186_69be85f5ca_o.jpg

Another hole in the same direction.

4311130300_3bdb8f7786_o.jpg

Designers tried to compensate the boredom with essences which grant permabonuses to attributes.

4310392889_a10dde8f84_o.jpg

Bro checks a hole to the north.

4311130552_4f03c9a7b9_o.jpg

And encounter the first opponents

4310393099_3cb69f8c14_o.jpg

Keep heading north.

4310393223_4501cdd6d4_o.jpg

4310393353_5927a6c857_o.jpg

Another mouse hole which leads to a small room with three genlocks.

4311131040_3d3519df70_o.jpg

4311131148_622536d48f_o.jpg

The mouse hole in that room allows to cut the crap and get straight to the important part.

4310393709_8f88293c28_o.jpg

4310393845_fece8ce0c3_o.jpg

The band of darkspawn attacks the templar. Bro helps him to deal with them.

4311131638_018f92bbc4_o.jpg

4310394131_ae35ee9970_o.jpg
Templar Spirit: They're gone. You.. you did it. You killed them.

4310394131_ae35ee9970_o.jpg
Templar Spirit: But not all, their leaders are behind the unbreakable door.

4310394131_ae35ee9970_o.jpg
Templar Spirit: I give you my wisdom, it will let you see. And now I wake...

As a reward he receives new Spirit form. It has basic magic abilities and allows to pass through spirit doors and gather previously inaccessible essences like this one.

4311131818_8f4f7f9e9f_o.jpg

Still you can't do anything with massive doors unless you get a golem form.

4311131936_d7601ff645_o.jpg

Now it's possible to "kill" the first guardian demon - Yevena, located behind the spirit door in the Raw Fade.

4311132084_c89c7c88c7_o.jpg

4311132256_cf5b45e033_o.jpg

4310394713_5233fb2fb7_o.jpg

There is an Essence of Willpower located here.

4310394851_3808d5c3e8_o.jpg

Burning Tower is a next target.

4310394991_10e04fb4c4_o.jpg

4311132874_98da39935f_o.jpg

Small room with essence of cunning to the left accessible through a mouse hole.

4310395247_e73661981d_o.jpg

4310395379_74e38d89c4_o.jpg

Enemies in the Burning Tower are, well, burning. That doesn't make them any more challenging, though.

4310395479_3eeae89813_o.jpg

Rare sight - a hall with a statue of Andraste is totally devoid of enemies.

4310395633_123bdc41e8_o.jpg

However, there are templars in a room to the north.

4310395781_4f9e84ff41_o.jpg

The door leading to the second floor.

4311133698_0436eb5ffd_o.jpg

Roads here are barred with unpassable walls of flame. De-facto only one path is available...

4310396069_d5d0c1c9b2_o.jpg

4310396197_f5583019ef_o.jpg

4311134088_dd2aef6ddc_o.jpg

...which leads to a mouse hole.

4310396453_389011f4ec_o.jpg

4311134402_70089ceab3_o.jpg

Templar burning with anger attacks you on sight. After several punches he comes to senses.

4310396727_4b67a85a62_o.jpg
Templar Dreamer: The anger... fading... I am free.

4310396727_4b67a85a62_o.jpg
Templar Dreamer: Take Rhagos' power, use it and BURN him... burn them all. He guards Sloth, he bars the way.

4310396727_4b67a85a62_o.jpg
Templar Dreamer: You must... destroy the door... Other dreamers, other powers... only way...

That gives The Warden a Burning Man form, which has 100% fire immunity.

Your LP is very well-done, but it makes me feel there's as much fighting as in Diablo (and I'm not the one who actually has to go through it !). I don't think I'm going to buy Dragon Age...

It would have been funner if the damn game would have had diablo like combat but no you just click and watch. Diablo II is a game I actually finished and it was quite good.. much better than this DA: O shit. I'm really disappointed that they can't make good rpgs these days.

We've recently acquired a new form. Time to put it to use.

4320868522_3c9b4c1688_o.jpg

4320868782_a35f73de92_o.jpg

Fade - The Mages Asunder.

4320136211_f2c169cf66_o.jpg

Two mouse holes in the starting location. First, we'll probe the one to the left.

4320136479_640ee3c13e_o.jpg

The other one leads to a small room with two mages.

4320869600_6880fed5f7_o.jpg

4320137031_cc9b4fb382_o.jpg

Moar mages - same result.

4320870164_b98fb0dec0_o.jpg

And the essence of magic as bonus for efforts.

4320137643_d88869ca1a_o.jpg

Four crazy mages argue in the next room and soon will attack each other. You'll have to wait for the last man standing if you are not inclined to "participate".

4320137867_34e7995a23_o.jpg

4320870952_05bde1be89_o.jpg

Ha, local servants had some rogue skills. Bad recruiting.

4320138283_a8027c65d6_o.jpg

A wall of fire. Impenetrable barrier to those lacking the Burning Man form. Not for Bro, though.

4320138507_281bbe32c8_o.jpg

Rage demons try to bite me with fire attacks. Morans.

4320871666_fba7c69eab_o.jpg

Lots of mages in the next hall. Just lure them to the fire barrier and trash with fireballs. Repeat until done.

4320872382_73ac319026_o.jpg

4320871902_f3aae3154a_o.jpg

4320139311_912fe0b771_o.jpg

So fun.

4320872620_5220f8cc26_o.jpg

Pwned.

4320872896_38f7a84d24_o.jpg

Stairs leading somewhere.

4320873238_29a865bcc6_o.jpg

The mage asks for help. There is no option (and no reason) to reject his offer.

4320140695_c3f74eb49c_o.jpg

4321055358_e5d48bb932_o.jpg

4321055408_cc06c0f032_o.jpg
Cursed Dreamer: Thank you. It is time for this dream to come to end.

4321055408_cc06c0f032_o.jpg
Cursed Dreamer: I give you my strength. It will be of little use against the demon that rules here but perhaps it will help in other realms.

4321055408_cc06c0f032_o.jpg
Cursed Dreamer: Find a way to kill all the demon lords to open the way to Sloth. Free us all from this nightmare!

Finally, golem form is acquired. Bro can start a great purge.

4320322367_6b18240388_o.jpg

We'll begin with gathering essences from earlier levels.

Weisshaupt Fortress.

4321055982_2856a8b06a_o.jpg

The Raw Fade.

4320322899_42dfafdef6_o.jpg

4320323187_4297679059_o.jpg

The Darkspawn Invasion.

We have what it takes to deal with local boss. Golem form can smash massive doors...

4320323405_80b9198d4e_o.jpg

...and the little fuckers.

4321057178_24caba2f80_o.jpg

4320324067_fe3108b76b_o.jpg

4321057854_f4a963c604_o.jpg

The boss is an Ogre with yellow ranking.

4320324703_bdf7b2913e_o.jpg

4321058354_6c2379b7a9_o.jpg

But not everything is done here - there are more essences to gather. Bro backtracks to the original spawn point.

4320325279_996bec01cd_o.jpg

Then we'll take a north corridor and slay the darkspawn here.

4321058900_cda7676d47_o.jpg

4320325933_a1db5a1032_o.jpg

Smash the door.

4321059494_1702fc6f4f_o.jpg

And get moar strength.

4321059764_2272da41d7_o.jpg

Ta-da. This area is completed.

This was probably my favourite part of DA, the "puzzle" isn't bad at all. Too bad the "companion zones" are so easy. I'd have hoped to enter a complete mindfuck, and I found was tiny areas smaller than a house's worth. Meh. More wasted opportunities.

Amusing lets play. I'm liking all the extreme approach and subtly different routes you seem to be able to take, and I actually find the writing perfectly fine.

Burning Tower. Boss, here I come!

Metal and fire won't stop me...

4346009912_f7e3e7f722_o.jpg

4345268015_e935877fc2_o.jpg

...as well as flimsy foes.

4345268111_495a10a790_o.jpg

4345268193_c3f2e17dc8_o.jpg

4345268323_762fd4f1ae_o.jpg

Die, motherfucker, die!

4346010448_c5d876ddde_o.jpg

Strength increase is a nice bonus.

4346010554_72372fb2d4_o.jpg

But attribute whoring isn't over yet. Bro heads to the only spirit door on the level.

4345268641_b464efdc67_o.jpg

Two essences here - Cunning and Constitution.

4345268749_ae2277e3d7_o.jpg

And an essence of magic is on the first floor, behind the previously unbreakable massive door.

4346010886_c6538a46c4_o.jpg

4348565866_3eb268c2b5_o.jpg

Another level is totally wiped out:

4347819175_b3424aff31_o.jpg

Mages Asunder.

4347819275_2c2eb3842a_o.jpg

Up the stairs.

4348566172_9999f3df0c_o.jpg

Another door smashed, another skull cracked.

4347819489_36f53f858c_o.jpg

4347819567_cdedf40cbe_o.jpg

Lonely golems guard corridors there.

4348566464_8247cf89fa_o.jpg

Room to the right contains no bonuses. Fuck that.

4347819729_fd1bc07b7b_o.jpg

Exploring the left room is more useful, though.

4347829869_33b905db81_o.jpg

4348567734_8e7306e9b8_o.jpg

Golems. Nasty creatures.

4351068770_e5b8fc7822_o.jpg

4350322873_2460e8b4d3_o.jpg

4350322989_53ec157e47_o.jpg

At least something as a compensation.

4351069038_987b24488b_o.jpg

The only and proper road - forward to victory.

4350323175_275565a31f_o.jpg

4350323299_59cb44f82f_o.jpg

Oh shit, can't resist attribute whoring.

4350323439_b9e583f731_o.jpg

+1 Dexterity

4351069560_4d6e4abaf0_o.jpg

+1 Cunning

4351069670_6c3d3dab51_o.jpg

4350323731_2b1d2989db_o.jpg

+1 Dex and Con

4350323817_8c3448337c_o.jpg

4350323931_3ae09de90f_o.jpg

That ends Bro's little diversion.

4351070052_dd93502128_o.jpg

Another demon-guardian falls.

4351070144_5b9bff249d_o.jpg

Finished.

Arcane Horror here tries to entrap you in a Crushing Prison. How to counter that? Cast Crushing Prison on him.

Dealing with supporting monster cast is very easy.

This fade door is the proper one.

4355078191_8d215b279a_o.jpg

Hurray for Bro!

I never saw Alistair and Zevran in the dreamworld. Should be amusing.

Some are kinda meh, like Shale and dog.
