GameStar ran into Bill Roper at E3 who confirmed that the new title is indeed a game of roles at least according to BabelFish. Flagship Studios also posted 3 new concept arts showing a post apocalyptic looking environment, a lightly armored guy with a sword and a gun, and something weird looking. Opinions?

Flagship update: New interview ( Interview ) posted by Vault Dweller on Fri 23 April 2004, 16:05:59 More info on Flagship - More info on Flagship Studios
A site creatively called Flagship Follower sent Flagship Studios a few questions and, lo and behold, they got answered, although, as usual, nothing even remotely specific was revealed: They are doing fine, thanks for asking, working on the game which will be revealed when the time is right.
As a rather new company, are you currently working on the specific code for your game or are you working on a general script library to make it easier for this and future games?
We are working on specific code and also creating systems and tools that may be useable on future projects. Out focus is on creating a fantastic game of the highest quality possible as opposed to making a sustainable or marketable technology. We have always felt that the design of the game should drive the technology, so starting from the ground up is something we are used to doing. We do create tools for the game that we can use for creating expansions or additional content, but the game is our first and foremost concern. What I really like about Bill is that there is very little hype in his statements despite the success of his previous games. Compare that to Vision: the next stride forward in the evolution of modern role-playing games. WTF?!

Namco gets rights to first title from Blizzard expatriates ( Game news ) posted by Spazmo on Thu 18 March 2004, 15:43:58 More info on Flagship - More info on Flagship Studios
It was announced early this morning that a publisher has been found for Flagship Studio's first title: Namco, who are either seeking to develop a hot new Blizzard property for consoles or (more likely or Roper and his team wouldn't have agreed) to gain a foothold in the PC market. Here's a snip from the GameSpot story about it:
Referring to the many interested suitors that approached Flagship, Roper said, "We talked to a lot of people. [In Namco,] we saw a unique opportunity. This was a new direction that this well-established, well-historied game company was moving toward. It gave us the chance to be on the ground floor, but with an extremely established company--one whose games we played and really liked."
The move is significant for Namco as it signals its intent to compete in the PC space, although Ennis emphasized the this was not indicative of a move away from console games. "We're not doing PC instead of console, we're doing PC along with console."
Oh, joy, a console version. This can only be good because games that get "simultaneously developed for console and PC" always turn out just fine.
