There's another <a href=http://thewitcher.com/files/storyline.rar>gameplay movie</a> from <a href=http://thewitcher.com>The Witcher</a> available at the game's website. It's more or less the same as one of the previous ones, but of better quality (not over the shoulders of some guys on a monitor this time). But this time, the <a href=http://www.cdprojekt.com>CD Projekt</a> guys also showed us a new, interesting feature. This is what happens when you get laid in the game:

In order not to get into too much of a graphic display of this situation, we created a mini-game of sorts, where we provide the player with cards for every such situation and the player can then collect these cards throughout the game and show off, I guess, to his friends.

Interesting movie. The Witcher looks good. I especially like the dialogue set up and the multiple solutions to problems that it showed (finally! a real RPG). Running around town (which was well-designed and looked good) was a little choppy, but that's probably because it's not fully optimized yet, or maybe it was just the video itself.

Actually, in the previous movie they also showed that you can bribe one of the guards and if the guard partol comes and one of the guards is not there, he will be replaced by a new one.

The video was not encouraging for me. The demonstrator seemed to have a hard time with combat, especially at the end of the demo. He was fumbling to click on the guys with "red circles" at their feet. And what is all the clicking of icons at the top left? That looks very cumbersome.

And that was an incredibly easy quest to solve. The solution in all cases seems to be "Talk to someone. Pay them to do something." Doesn't look like role-playing so much as finding the right person to talk to and paying them to solve the quest. But it's just a simple demo...

Well, when you listen to what he says while he's playing, he mentions that your reputation will determine what side you can take. For instance, you can't try and lure the guards away on your own if you have high infamy, but you can talk to the bandits... and vice versa.

Still there were a lot of options to solve it, that was nice. I would definitely like to see an example like this for Oblivion.

We'll take GTA to the supreme court because an alledged group of hackers illegially went through the source code and uncovered a hidden minigame that let's your character have sex with his girlfriend and released it as a patch that only the tech-savvy PC gamers might find. However, it's perfectly fine if you can ruthlessly murder scores upon scores of cops and innocent civilians with everything from machine guns to flamethrowers and be rewarded for it through cash and weapons. Don't forget that all the deaths are bloody... and there's even decapitations! I almost forgot the samauri sword and the rocket launcher!

Look at the movies also. You can show someone getting decapitated or their lungs ripped out and keep it PG-13, but as soon as you show a titty it goes to R. If you show a vagina, you'll probably end up in the back-room of the video store in the section labeled "Adults only".

Yep, it's seriously messed up. I was watching Alien 3 the other day on American network TV. They happily showed a guy get his face burned off with acid, numerous grisly and violent deaths with guns/claws/teeth/etc. They happilyshow Rippley burn alive the weird mutant Human/Alien thing with a massive flamethrower - but pixelate out the Human/Alien nipple! I mean, WTF?

Even when you get past the whole violence/guns == fine, but nudity/language == bad contradiction, how you determine that thing is female and therefore needs censoring is quite beyond me...

Guess it is real then. Didn't feel like downloading the 40 megs to watch something I didn't care about. Although I must say, they did an exceptionally shitty job on that card. It could have at least been symetrical if they were gonna do it that way.
