Mobile Developer Playdek has announced a Kickstarter for their upcoming game, Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians.

The game is intended to be similar in nature to Final Fantasy Tactics, and part of the main draw is that they have the creator of that and Tactics Ogre, Yasumi Matsuno working for the team.

The Kickstarter is already 1/3 of the way there, with a goal of $600,000. The game will be released on mobile and PC platforms.

It's so funny how all they have about Matsuno is two pictures of him with a plaster on his nose in the video and he doesn't even want to bother to offer a spoken segment for 30 seconds. Not only that but he is distancing himself from the project and minimizing his involvement on his Twitter feed.

I could stomach such a game, if only it didn't have anime characters and animations and story. A western style tactics game would be great. Without any anime influence whatsoever.

the stretch goals are really a letdown for me. So many just being more platforms and the real goodies like the map editor being far up.

At least with this game i am fairly certain what will be delivered, even if they have pretty much nothing to show.
