In the latest episode of his show, Matt Barton has some fun with Jay "Rampant Coyote" Barnson's comedic indie dungeon crawler, Frayed Knights: The Skull of S'makh-Daon.

Over at his blog, Jay reveals that Matt will be assisting him with some of the dungeon design in the game's upcoming sequel (and also that Matt was playing with an out-of-date version of the game in the video, derp). It's nice to see camaraderie between indie RPG Internet celebrities!

Don't forget to vote for Frayed Knights on Steam Greenlight.

This ain't making it on Greenlight -- been languishing for a year. Maybe if he stuck it in some indie Greenlight bundle but I believe Jay is one of those devs who is ardently opposed to 'devaluing' their games.

I wonder what spot it's at.

Did he? Don't recall off the top of my head and a semi-lazy Google search didn't lead me to anything. I vaguely remember him being part of the 'Because We May' promo a year ago but that was just a sale and not a bundle. Maybe an Indie Royale, I've never bought one of those.

Probably bottom quarter. At this point it doesn't really matter since he would need a massive surge -- being in a Groupees Greenlight tends to help but then he'd have to sell it for the equivalent of $0.75 and even then it's no guarantee. Zafehouse Diaries has still yet to be Greenlit despite being in a Groupees and having the Walking Derp developers praise it.

He is a good designer but I don't know if he has the skills to make a great gameplay system.

At least FK is a million times more fun to play than Realms of Arkania.
