Well, I really like Crusader Kings II and I really like what they've done to expand the game this far. But what will this mean? More flavour? More good expansions? Buttloads of cosmetic dlc? All of the above? And most importantly, is this milking incline or decline? Discuss!

My buying this game is pushed back at least 4 years (for the 'gold' version)

Just a question, if you want CK2 DLCs is steam required?
dunno what ur question is. u can buy the game and dlcs soewhere else, ie gamersgate, and have that one instead of steam.

or is ur question about being required to run steam if u have steam version? well, no, u just have to download the game (purchased DLCs dl automatically) and then u can turn off steam and never turn it on again (until u want to update it to a next patch, that is), playing from .exe

Finally I found a game that will be able to milk my wallet by releasing DLC.

Is that good?

Anyway, when Norse Gods was released the base game and previous DLC were available at -75% off, so I grabbed Sunset Invasion for 1.24 euro. Do I have to start a new playthrough to see the difference, or will it be incorporated into my save game?

One good thing about the dlc model is that stupid shit like the 'sunset invasion' can be quarantined. At least i hope there's a way to disable it even if you bought it too.

Victoria II already had buttloads of cosmetic dlc. Though if Paradox strives to actually finish their games, like with CKII, instead of just letting the mods do it I'll be happy.

oh good... 2 more years of my vanilla install getting updates that break stuff and introduce things that don't have a function in vanilla and are basically just nag screens

a game getting less complete with every patch

wanted to buy a complete edition once it's complete... guess that won't happen anytime soon then

meh... when was the last time you saw a vanilla install ?

it's got nag-stuff on the start menu, the map menu, the inactive retinue screen etc. etc.

and it's getting more and more with each update

edit: heh... rereading that i should have chosen a different last line i guess  ...good catch

Wasn't the next DLC after TOG supposed to rework the economy and add Trade Goods to provinces?

Crusader Kings is Paradoxes Railworks. With incest replacing trains.
