In response to a question on his Formspring account, Josh Sawyer has uploaded a video to Youtube in which he discusses the processes for developing locations and characters in Fallout: New Vegas.

The first half of the video focuses on locations, the second half on characters. There's a transcript by Tagaziel of No Mutants Allowed here.

Sawyers is looking kinda unkempt, needs to shave. Must be a development thing.

If you dislike audio interviews (or blog-like talks in this case) like I do, Tagz did the insane job of transcribing this whole video, here

I like his random voice inflections like This ain't your daddy's brotherhood of steel

He's started growing facial hair in the winter to keep his face warm while he's biking.

I guess there was too much biking for him seeing the plaster on his right elbow. Hopefully, he will be more reasonable now. I would like him seeing through P:E before he dies in an random bike accident. They will have to decide who will step forward to finish the damn thing...:troll:

That was very striking. I saw that while I was driving off to Barstow and then I thought that 'Oh wow, there's also a place like that off of the... whatever, the freaking... freeway going on outside the Colorado River, let's put something there that's like that. And so, that sort of generated the idea of … maybe there's like a super-laser-weapon inside of it, that can be a big, cool moment in the game,

Also, Quarry Junction. There's, um, a quarry there. There's just a quarry there

nd so I'm like 'Cool, that's weird desert.' Weird desert things were something we talked about early in development, as being a kind of a neat thing.

(GARRAaaaa!)

:what:

Too much Fallout 3.

He said it on his Formspring one time. I remember that too. He is a very enthusiastic motorcyclist as well, and he manages to discuss motorcycles in a way that literally makes me wonder if he is the most boring man on the planet earth.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
So the Survivalist logs were written by John Gonzalez.
Very good reading.

Josh Sawyer said:
Cass, Rose of Sharon Cassidy, is also kind of a regular woman, who is, she's running a caravan business, but it stinks and people suck around her. She's not a perfect person by any means, but she's pretty loyal and tough. So, hey, cool character and I thought it would be neat, if Avellone wrote that character. So, there you go! .

Indeed :salute:

and all that wind blowing on the face makes it worse.

"Oh to be that wind" she sighs to herself as she clicks "Post Reply" and pulls a hastily-printed photocopy of Josh Sawyer from her wall. Grabbing a brown magik marker she scolds the photocopy "This won't do at all, Josh. It just won't do! It once was summer but it is summer no longer!" and proceeds to color the lower half of his face with a nice warm beard hoping he will be ok for the winter.
