<A href="http://www.thebardstale.com/">Bard's Tale</a>, the action RPG by <a href="http://www.inxile-entertainment.com/">inXile</a>, has now been updated to <A href="http://www.3dgamers.com/dlselect/games/bardstale/the_bards_tale_1.01.exe.html">version 1.01</a>. There is no changelog available for it, so we'll just have to imagine what this 548kb patch from Ubi Soft does:
<br>
<br>
<blockquote><b>New fantastic updates</b>
<br>
<ul><li>50% less disappointment!
<br>
<li>A real inventory system with equipment management
<br>
<li>Decent game length - MORE THAN 16 HOURS
<br>
<li>Quality role-playing
<br>
<li>[insert your own fantasy improvements]
<br>
</ul></blockquote>
<br>
<br>
Wow! Thanks Ubi Soft!

I don't think anything can save the 'new' Bard's Tale. I'd rather sit there and play any of the originals, much longer play time and much more entertaining.

It was a fun game on the PS2, but it sounds like they made a couple changes to it for the PC so I'm not sure it would be as good.

There's a bug on the demo that makes it annoyingly unplayable: the brightness/gamma. In most games, I'm able to fix any gamma related problems by 'loading profile' on my ATI card with the press of a hotkey combination. Not so with this game. It only lasts for the duration until I switch maps and it becomes SUPERBRIGHT again.

I'm assuming that this same problem plagues the full version of the game.

I bought this game last week. The patch is mainly for the german version. It fixes some annoying sound bugs in Kirkwall. In the unpatched German version wrong ambient sounds and dialog speech were played.
It was NOT funny to hear the sentence "Verzeihen Sie die Störung. Aber wissen Sie wo ich jemanden namens Bojd finde?" in a endless ambient sound loop trough the whole town.

I have a ATI card and have no problems with adjusting the gamma/brightness for the game.
