OCAddiction has also posted their Best and Worst of 2002. Neverwinter Nights gets another one:

RPG of the year- Neverwinter Nights was the highly anticipated RPG from BioWare that took the RPG genre to new levels. Several years in development, top notch graphics, excellent single and multi-player capabilities give this game the top award for RPG of 2002. BioWare has their hands full if they intend on topping this title.

And yet, they still haven't topped Fallout. Amazing.

I don't think they will because they don't have a good reason to do so. BioWare can simply sit back, take their time, make something awful, and they'll still have rabid fans defending it or making excuses for it.

More so than that I think, their rabid fans will pay them more for making the inferior product than the superior. Bioware is not a company built upon great games that has of late gone bad, their greatest fame and acclaim has come from their most inferior products.

Bizarro games for Bizzaro gamers, perhaps best defines Bioware.

As it is indeed going to be greatly difficult to do worse than they have, they have mayhaps reached the pinnacle of their fans desires.
