Activision sent out a press release today announcing that Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines would be hitting shelves on November the 16th (that's in a week for the calendar impaired among you).
Santa Monica, CA – November 9, 2004 – The bloodletting begins on November 16, 2004 with the shipping of Activision, Inc.’s (Nasdaq: ATVI) Vampire®: The Masquerade – Bloodlines™ for the PC.

An all-new RPG adventure, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines is filled with rich character development, an intriguing storyline set in White Wolf’s World of Darkness®, and mind-blowing graphics powered by Source™ - Valve’s next generation engine technology. It will take a vicious array of vampire disciplines and a healthy penchant for blood, for players to survive the dark and gritty undying world of modern day L.A. Selecting from one of seven clans, gamers will interact with other characters, decide with whom to ally themselves, and watch as darkness takes over their soul while a mysterious plot unfolds.
Hopefully it won't get swamped by Half Life 2, which is getting released the same day. At least Bloodlines has more T&A on the box. And how come we never got an official gold announcement?

Of course, this means it'll sit unplayed for a couple weeks while I play HL2. I hope that doesnt hurt their sales...

I bet there was no gold announcement because they had to wait for HL2 to be shipped. Hasn't this game been done for a bit? When a company announces that the game is gold, they usually give a ship date, don't they? If HL2 didn't have an "official" ship date, then they couldn't have one for Bloodlines.

I'm probably wrong. Someone will probably point that out. I wish my computer could run this game. I would get it for sure.

If the amount of content is as great as they say then I bet there will be a good number of bugs. So playing Half-Life will only give them some time to iron out the worst ones.

It'll be interesting to see how Source handles a rpg. Engines developed for fps games usually have problems with something (anyone remember save games sizes in the original Deus Ex). Which reminds me: I'm looking forward to the Arx Fatalis 2 announcement sometime next year. It'll be REAL interesting to see what they can achieve graphically considering the great job they did with the crappy Arx engine.

I love how all the major releases are crammed into a single month every year, thats some super brainy marketing there.

Bloodlines doesn't stand a chance, everyone wants Half-Life 2, who has a hundred bucks to blow on only two games in a single month?

Cut the warez talk, people. This site may not be developer friendly per se, but we definitely do not support piracy.

Oh. You're messed up! I'm gonna buy them. I haven't really bought a game since when Beyond Good & Evil went down to $20. Plus, it's the freakin sequel to Half-Life and Troika's freakin third game for crying to yourself.
