SideQuesting <a href="http://www.sidequesting.com/2010/04/pax-impressions-alpha-protocol/">took a glance</a> at Obsidian Entertainments upcoming Espionage RPG.
<br>
<br>
<p style="margin-left:50px;border-style:solid;border-width:1px;border-top-color:#ffffff;padding:5px;border-right-color:#bbbbbb;border-left-color:#ffffff;border-bottom-color:#bbbbbb;">There is no protocol for the way you conduct yourself in Alpha Protocol. There is no definite right and wrong way to play through the game. Since having a poor reputation with someone is not always a bad thing, we can piss off in-game characters without having to worry about our paragon character being tagged with renegade points. The missions that you will have available to you will depend on your reputation with different characters. Missions open up and close depending on the state of these relationships. The Obsidian developers said that there’s a lot of gray in the espionage world, and that’s what you will see in Alpha Protocol. There is no “good” option or “bad” option; there is no morality.
<br>
<br>
There are more than two paths to walk in Alpha Protocol. You’ll have to play through the game at least three times to see everything. Unlike Mass Effect, there aren’t two main paths to walk and things aren’t outlined in terms of red and blue. You’ll have to react since you’ll sometimes have a limited time to make choices. You’ll feel it out and go with your gut feeling on these decisions.
<br>
...
<br>
In combat, the character customization shows a lot of promise, especially in the context of an espionage RPG. Some of the character attributes that were shown to us included sabotage, technical aptitude, toughness, and martial arts. These attributes, skills, and weapons could be leveled up as you go on in the game. For example, one skill that stood out caused arrows to pop up on the screen above the heads of enemies. This allowed you to see exactly where they were. You can also tell how aware of you they were based on the color of the arrow (a’la Assassin’s Creed II). A skill like this would be more suitable if you wanted to focus on your character’s stealth capabilities. And all this time, Mass Effect had been offering us skills that strengthened shields or our next sniper rifle shot.

<br>
<br>
Will Alpha Protocol be even better than Mass Effect 2?

Who in their right mind will enjoy three walkthroughs of popamole through the exactly same levels and exactly the same game progression line?

Fucking lol

Oblivion is dumbed down shit let's make fun of it for 4 years lololo but Alpha Effect is gun b awsum just liek Deus Ex

A skill like this would be more suitable if you wanted to focus on your character’s stealth capabilities
So this is what stealth is about in Obsidian's meaning.

Come on don't you all be so negative all the time. That thing about not worying that your paragon character will collect renegade points sounds cool. As for the "arrows above head" power, it can be explained easily (some sort of scan or satellite). Nothing wrong with that.

I fully unterstand what Skyway does, but sometimes he presents a valid argument. I just wanted to express my own opinion.

That thing about your actions being worth a shit in Oblivion sounds cool. As for the "quest compass" power, it can be explained easily (some sort of magic, especially when you are ten feet under the ground). Nothing wrong with that.

Oh wait a second no. Oblivion is dumbed down shit lol, but Alpha Protocol owns!

Skyway, your posting style is the most next-gen, edgy, dark-gritty, dumbed down shit thing in this thread. It's as repetitive as Assassin's Creed's mission design, and about as full of substance as Oblivion dialogue. Please shut up.

I've actually never seen a Skyway post I disagree with. True story, not trolling. Dunno what ya'll niggas so upset about. He does have his encyclopedia of catch phrases that he applies alot to describe alot of different games, but so many next gen games are trying to copy the exact style gameplay of the other that their unoriginal usage is almost evidential of the unoriginality in the games themselves (if that makes any sense)

In other words, he could use a vocabulary upgrade, but his opinions are sound.

how the fuck would the arrow be explainable? you can fucking pinpoint the location of moving people whom you have not marked with tracking devices, and this somehow pops an arrow out of his head? that is some impressive fucking gps

Skyway is one of the best trolls on Codex IMO.

He could be a worthy poster though, if only he restricted himself to writing ONLY about:
a) games that he actually played, not read about them somewhere,
b) games that actually exist at the time of his post.

OP: who gives a shit, this game doesn't exist yet. It could be good, it could be bad, but that’s gonna be decided after the fuckin’ release...
